Things looked great and standard for a nice hotel chain. When we showed up for breakfast (about 490 pesos/person), the service was fine. The waitstaff were more leisurely than the staff at our boutique hotel where we typically breakfast. It took about 15 min. to have coffee, unlike the almost instantaneous offer of coffee at our hotel. The reason why we dined at the Fiesta Americana was we had to meet our tour there and we did not want to rush our breakfast. The offerings were extensive: a lot more raw vegetables and fruits, smoked salmon, rice, eggs and chilaquiles, meat and fish dishes like baccahau. There was an omelette and quesadilla var where diners can order freshly-prepared omelettes and quesadillas.There were also piles of fresh pastries. I took a little of everything and the flavors were milder than what we had experienced at our hotel. My husband, in addition took a healthy serving of smoked salmon. We went on our tour and my husband stayed with the driver because of altitude-sickness. About 8 hrs. later, my husband threw up his breakfast and displayed all the symptoms of food poisoning. He lived on rice, jello and soup until after his return home 2 days later. Researching how smoked salmon can cause food poisoning, it seems that the causes of Listeria, Salmonella, or E coli in smoked salmon is either expired or improperly handled smoked salmon. The fact that Fiesta Americana, a chain that offers all-inclusive hotel stays in Nexico, was less than impeccable food hygiene definitely crosses it off my list of hotels that I would patronize.

I'd consider staying here again to establish a base of operations for future explorations of CDMX.

Ditto its proximity to both Roma and Condesa neighborhoods. Reasonably priced, and perfect for my solo visit. A firm but not uncomfortably hard bed (hard beds can be an issue in Mexico. Hotels buy harder beds to last longer and it can be like sleeping on concrete. Good WiFi. Lots of electric outlets. A great shower with almost immediate hot water. I was once in a hotel or two in Puebla where one had to run the water so long for the hot water to travel to the room that one felt very guilty about wasting all of that water. I loved the walk-in shower because of its ample space and found that this room, number 205, for a single traveler, had an incredible amount of space for me to lay out all the stuff that I had to lay out. Another plus was the plastic garbage bucket which I was able to fill with water and do daily washing of my clothes because I had forgot to pack enough. And in this particular room, everything dried overnight. Dryness. Make sure you've got drinking water. The fan worked fine and I did not have any need for air conditioning. The month was April. All in all, although I am trying a different hotel every two nights in order to find ones to recommend, I would stay here again, but I would probably book a junior suite as traveling with my wife would mandate a larger room for sure.

It's a hugely busy street, with buses, garbage trucks, police, ambulances, and all kinds of other loud automobiles roaring by at all hours. Every time a large car rumbles by, the entire hotel shakes. The room had no air conditioning, was rather spartan, and no screens over the window. Watch out after a long night of drinking tequila! The small fan in the room was nowhere near ample to keep things cool here. It was horrible. The second room was much nicer- for an additional surcharge, you can upgrade to a room with an air conditioner! It had a large Jacuzzi, and a television. This room faced Calle Popocatapetl, which is a much less busy street, so things were quieter. The lights all worked, and the TV had limited reception, with about a dozen channels. The sink and the toilet got clogged easily. The staff at the hotel was on the ball- they were helpful and courteous. The prices were quite low. The internet was out much of the time, and when it worked, it was spotty and slow. The hotel has a restaurant on site, and the place was clean. They take credit cards. Hotel Roosevelt is located right next to a bus stop, but not too close to the subway. It's in a cool neighborhood, and there's lots of fun places to eat and drink nearby.

All in all - the hotel really tried their best to accommodate us, and the staff were very friendly. Beds were somewhat comfy, decor was a bit aged, and the air conditioner was really just a fan. Everything from the pre-stay communication and exceptional customer service to the beautiful and tastefully decorated accommodations was world class. My wife and I started our honeymoon with two nights in La Luna suite, one of only three rooms at the hotel. Prior to our stay, I emailed several times with the staff to hammer out some details. They provided a beautiful complimentary bouquet of white roses in our room, which was more of a luxury one bedroom apartment with kitchen and superb bathroom. Emails were returned within a matter of minutes, and always were very pleasant. Our initial flight to Mexico City was delayed for four hours, and we missed our opportunity to visit the archeology museum. When we arrived to La Valise, we were welcomed with a shot of very tasty mezcal and freshly sliced orange. The hotel then delivered our luggage to our room along with the remainder of the bottle of mezcal while we went for a walk in the neighborhood, again complimentary. The attention to detail in our room was superb. The bathroom was supplied with excellent soaps and shampoos, along with fragrant bath salts to use in the claw foot tub. The refrigerator was stalked with complimentary still and sparkling water, beer, and juice. Wifi was excellent, with a UE Boom speaker and Apple TV provided. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, and the complimentary coffee provided by the shop next door was exceptional. The icing on top of our trip happened when we unfortunately left a cell phone in the back of an Uber. We left Mexico City early the following morning, making it impossible for Uber to return our phone to us. The hotel helped us facilitate calling our carrier to turn off service to the phone, and volunteered to allow us to use them as a contact for the return of the phone. The manager, Roberto, communicated with us frequently to let us know the phone had been returned, and is going to meet us at the airport in several days to hand deliver while we have a lengthy layover on our return home... On Christmas Eve Day!! I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It exceeded our expectations.
