This is our first time to go to Holiday Road or any Xmas lighting events... so, we did not know what to expect. Their page is also popped up on my social media feeds frequently. We got 25% off from IG/FB. $80 for 2, $10 parking. We booked 5 pm entry. We could come between 5 to 5:30 pm. The parking was well organized. There was no line. There are many food trucks with variety of food choices (donuts, Korean food truck, vietnamese food truck, Wise BBQ, kettle corn, etc.) There is a bar for alcoholic drinks as well as hot chocolate or eggnog. There are multiple theme decorations, snow making machine, santa workshops, etc. It is about 1.5 mile easy strolling and pet friendly. Overall, we enjoyed the experience. read more

*** November 28th, 2025 to December 27th, 2025 *** This is the 6th season for Holiday Road and it is an outdoor holiday experience to see Christmas displays, lights, fields of candy canes, face painting, food trucks, and tons of photo opportunities. The "road" is a 0.75 mile long self-guided walking trail. Most visitors spend 1-hour to 1.5-hour on the grounds. [Location]: The trail is located at King Gillette Ranch. I had minimal cellular signal so make sure to load the GPS direction ahead of time. [Price]: Tickets are $24.99 and up depending on the day. Children 2 years and under are free and do NOT require a ticket. Visitors must purchase a Parking Pass to access the parking lot (no Parking Pass is needed if you are being dropped off). Have digital tickets ready for scanning on the TIXR app or alternatively print a copy of ticket for scanning upon arrival. Our party paid $34.99 per person and $9.99 for a parking pass (plus online transaction fees). [Hours]: Parking lot opens at 4:30 PM. The grounds open from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Trail Entrance, food trucks, bars, and stores open at 5:00 PM and closes at 9:00 PM. Trail ticket times starting from 5 PM until 8 PM. Visitors must select a time slot and the website states visitors must be present at the check-in during the stated arrival window or they will be turned away and no refund will be provided. Our part arrived slightly late by 30 minutes and was still able to get in. [Amenities]: Portable restrooms are available on the grounds. [Special notes]: No pets allowed on the grounds. Expect uneven dirt grounds with big pebbles at the parking lot & many visitors almost tripped as they walked from the parking lot to the entrance - so watch each step. However once visitors are inside of the grounds, then the grounds become easy to navigate for anyone bringing a stroller. [Experience]: It was fairly cold so bring a jacket and/or beanie. It felt like one of those Christmas night walks at botanic gardens plus some big puffy, out of portion, and wacky Christmas decors (e.g. Frosty the Snowman driving a steam locomotive, elves climbing trees, a gingerbread boy with a ribbon hairbow, etc.) Heck our party even saw a LED screen showing AI mariah carey when 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' was played. While some other Christmas lights are more agnostic, visitors will see more decors celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and Hanukkah. [Conclusion]: A 3.5-star experience - bump down on mediocre food truck options, semi pricey tickets, and the non-stroller-friendly parking lot. read more

I love coming here and seeing the lights every December but I have to say, it would really help to have more noticeable signage at the entrance- point a light at it, use reflective tape, something. The road is so dark and it's so easy to drive past it (which I have, almost every year). That being said, I appreciate that there's food trucks and drinks available for purchase. There is a hot cocoa bar (and a regular bar) right as you enter the path. There are also several photo-ops which is always nice. I feel like paying for parking is pushing it though- the tickets are already expensive enough as it is. It should be included in the ticket price. read more

Absolutely muddy mess from the parking lot all the way to the start of the paved path. Total Safety and Slip Hazard!!! If you have senior citizens, little kids, strollers, people in Wheelchairs, or Walkers Don't Bother. The 26th and 27th really should have been canceled and refunded especially after having the torrential rains. I didn't even get a chance to videotape or take pictures of mud because I needed both hands to balance and not fall. read more

We went to the Night of the Jack 2 months before which we really loved. So we were expecting Holiday Road to be even better. But unfortunately it was a little disappointing. It seemed like there was much less to look at and we walked through the trail way faster than we did at the Halloween one. Maybe they're just mainly known for Night of the Jack so that's what they're best at and that's where they give the most effort. But the holiday one was kind of a let down so we would only go back for Night of the Jack. Of course we still enjoyed ourselves and made a night out of it, but we just had higher expectations after our October experience. But now we know to skip the Holiday Road. read more

We really had a great time here Christmas Eve! Perfect way to spend the evening from 7 PM to 9:30 PM closing and so memorable. They have so many different sections, light shows, and even a Hanukkah section. You walk the whole thing--allow 2 hours. We sang along to many holiday songs and took so many pictures. They have quality food trucks with elevated prices for this event--Nothing is less than about $20 it seems. We shared chicken from the chicken truck and it was great. Is this something I would go to year after year? No. Would I go again in the future and recommend it to others? Definitely! Tickets range from $25 to $35 depending on day and time. Parking is $7.00 and very organized in a dirt lot. Million Dollar advice: Bring an SUV or Truck or any vehicle with clearance. Don't think for a second of coming here with a low profile car--you will have pain! The parking lot and road to it is unimproved dirt with lots of rocks and ruts and holes. Fortunately, we took my friends Truck--perfect, no problem. And some of the path here is dirt so hiking shoes are a good idea unless you don't mind dirt on your athletic shoes--don't wear sandals or dress shoes or open toe shoes--think "hike." And you will walk approximately 2 to 3 miles. Allow 2 hours to see everything and stop and enjoy it and take pics. My family invited me to holiday road. It was easy to get a ticket an hour before 530 on 12/22. If you're coming from the 101 freeway be aware las virgenes can have lots of traffic for this event so come earlier than your expected eta. To enter you make a left onto Mulholland from Las Virgenes towards the valley with The entrance away from the intersection to help traffic flow. It is well signed and there's many employees to tell you where to go. Be aware of the parking lot, it's a bit rough with gravel and dirt so if you have a fancy low car don't bring it. Parking was super easy and it's a short walk to entrance. Very kid friendly. The actual holiday road is plain dirt/asphault. I have foot pain and was able to walk. Would not recommend footwear that can roll your ankle. Ada accessible. Bring something warm to wear, it's cold here. Many options for food: burgers, desserts, adult beverages, bbq, elote, and much more! I ordered the Ho Ho Ho Hot Chocolate. It was nice! There are trash cans along route. I'm sure there are bathrooms but I didn't check. It was about a two mile walk and I live close by. The light displays were amazing and there's plenty of areas to take pictures! There's a few prop Santa's and real Santa to take pics with! Definitely worth it if you want a see a family friendly pretty light display. It was busy because people were anticipating bad weather upcoming and we never waited to get in and it wasn't too crowded on the road. There's also a Halloween themed road I haven't tried. I had a great time coming here with friends. You have to purchase tickets online at the time you want to enter and also parking beforehand. First of all - and I cannot emphasize this enough - dress warmly! I thought I had enough layers, but it was still super cold! Next, you enter an area with food trucks, alcohol, and my saving grace, hot chocolate. I headed for the hot chocolate booth with purpose! It helped ease how cold I was, and made me focus on all the cool things holiday road had to offer. Once you get past the food booths and drinks, there's singing and tons of amazing lights, decorations, and fun things to look at. The path actually goes on for a while - and I say you can spend a good hour or so here. Everything looked beautiful lit up, and I wouldn't mind making this a yearly tradition. As the holiday season comes to an end, I wanted to highlight Holiday Road. My wife and I have been here twice in the last three years and it's definitely a festive place to spend the night celebrating the winter holidays. Holiday Road is a family-friendly outdoor festival that has art and light installations along a walking trail in Calabasas. There's also food trucks, two outdoor bars, and plenty of holiday photo opportunities. Anyone coming here should dress warm and wear comfortable shoes since you will be walking outside along a dirt trail. For this year, we went after Christmas and it's noticeably not as busy compared to when we went beforehand. It took us about an hour to see everything and it's similar to the holiday events at the LA Zoo or Descanso Gardens. If you haven't been to Holiday Road, this could be a new option for Winter 2025. read more

We had such a good time at Night of the Jack last year, that we were waiting for an opportunity to see Holiday Road as soon as we could. Back in early Nov, I found out that my mother, who just had knee surgery and is currently wheelchair bound, would be making a very rare visit to Los Angeles and thought it would be the perfect time to go see Holiday Road! Unfortunately, it was A COMPLETE SH*T SHOW. We were so disappointed. We found out it would be raining severely during our planned visit day and we were not available to go any other day, so we contacted the event organizers to see if we could get a refund or trade our tickets for one of next year's events. No such luck. :( We were told we could trade for another day during this year's event, but aside from that, we were stuck with 3 tickets that we would probably not be able to use. I let them know my mother was in need of a wheelchair and inquired if they might have wheelchairs available at the event to rent, but they did not. This would have been a great time for customer service to tell me that the mud would be ankle deep and that a wheelchair would never be able to make it through the parking lot, let alone the rest of the course. Sadly, they failed to do this. We knew it would be muddy, but we just had no idea how bad it would really be. I had heard that the clouds might part for an hour or two just about the time we planned to attend and we hated to see so much money go to waste, so we decided to make a go of it. Thank goodness we did not bring the wheelchair with us! ..or a walker for that matter. Neither would NEVER have made it through this slippy slide of a mess. As it was, the cane was getting halfway stuck in the mud with every step, which made getting out of the place a nightmare. There were no boards or planks for visitors to step on in the deepest places, no signs warning about the slipper, squishy conditions, it was just a total bust. On top of that, we saw many of the giant snowflake decorations were cut in half and battered, the Frosty the Snowman blow up decoration was splattered with mud, making it look like someone who had just left a murder scene, one of the bigger decorations that was covered in hundreds of blinking and flashing lights had most of the front facing lights burnt out, about 1/3 of the blow up decorations were completely deflated and the course was super dark so that you could not see if you were about to step into a puddle of water or a patch of squishy slippery mud..Even when we all had our cellphone flashlights on, we could still just barely what we were about to step into. In addition, the music at some of the speaker locations was so loud, we could not hear ourselves calling to each other to watch out for this pothole or that puddle. There were only a handful of vendors there (As compared to what we saw at Night of the Jack), which was especially disappointing. We figured if we had to wait it out in the vendor truck area, at least we could do some shopping, but there was not a lot to see or buy at all. We were about 3/4 of the way through, when we decided it was too dangerous for my elderly mother with a barely functioning knee to continue on. But she was so concerned about turning back and going back through the puddles, potholes and muck, that she opted against hope that the way forward would get easier. It didn't. When we finally got to the front near the parking, I stayed with her while my wife went to get the car, which of course got stuck in the mud. We called for help, but were able to rock it back and forth out of the mud before help ever arrived. We were hoping things might clear up enough for us to get through it all without heavy rain. It only sprinkled on us, so that is the one good thing that happened for us. We had hoped not to waste so much money by throwing out the tickets and took a chance, but if we had known how bad it would really be, we would definitely never have gone at all. And that is my main complaint here. There should have been warnings online, in the emails between me and customer service and posted at the entrance to the event, as well as throughout the event that the conditions were so poor. When the customer service rep realized that I was planning to bring somebody in a wheelchair, that person should have spoken up and told us truthfully what the conditions would be. The whole thing was a major fail. It was just really disappointing. read more

Went on 12/26, no idea why they chose to be open that day (or give warnings online) given the entire parking lot, entrance, Santa's workshop, and initial walking trail was just a big pile of slippery mud. The entire parking lot is a valley of mud; cars were getting stuck, strollers had to be carried, it was ridiculous. Let's put aside the conditions/weather, this thing is not worth $35pp - they also say to park on site you need an $11 parking pass, which is a blatant lie as no one checked a single vehicle for a parking pass. Multiple sections of the trail have no lights or big pieces of lights just not turned on, speakers next to each other blasting completely different songs, their bathrooms are disgusting. This was our first and obviously last time going here, what a huge disappointment. read more

We went here for the first time 2 days ago with friends and I don't understand why I had to pay $10 for parking when I bought the tickets online? When we got there they didn't even ask for the parking ticket. Another thing that shocked me was that we paid $10 for a small cup of hot cocoa which I thought was free because there was no price on it and it was right next to the free Santa photo station. I enjoyed this walk! It was awesome and it'll get you in the holiday mood! I'm used to going to Radio City Music Hall in NYC to see the Christmas Spectacular but since I moved here last year, I've missed it. This 2 mile walk is worth it. They play holiday music throughout your walk and it's decorated beautifully, too. There's 2 bars and lots of food trucks before you start your walk. We had an enchanted but cold evening and loved it! This event was very well organized. You choose your time slot and purchase your tickets and parking online. When you arrive near the location, there are signs and a person and the gate with a flashlight directing you in. From there, everything is clearly marked and easy. There were plenty of photo op areas, 2 operating food trucks (1 of the 3 was closed), portable potties, a "drinking" area for adult beverages, Santa photo area, souvenir stands and of course, the amazing lighted walk. Food was expensive for what we got but we expected that. Portion size was small and the food was bland. Great place to go with family, friends or anyone. They have a large parking lot and there is a fee I believe $10. Plenty of parking most of it is dirt. Ones you get to see all the decor is a nice clean road. They have food trucks, a lot of treats and alcohol. Cute decorations so you can take photos. Then the holiday road begins up ahead and it's just so pretty. Full of lights. I've been to this location in the past but it was Night of the Jack for Halloween. It gets pretty packed closer to the holiday. So I went last weekend of November and there was but a few people so it was nice to be able to take photos with family where you wouldn't feel pressure to move. I believe we paid about $35 per person only because we went right when it opened. Like the first week. Otherwise, I believe it's $40 per person. I wish it was a bit longer. I enjoyed seeing all the lights and beautiful decorations. Their is a small section where they have a machine blowing fake snow. We visited Holiday Road on Monday, the day after Christmas. It was the perfect way to extend the holiday! Ordering our tickets online was easy; I liked that I could pay for parking ahead of time. My husband and I, along with our 10-month old and 3-year old, went with a group of friends and had a great time overall. The PROs: The light installations were incredible! The tunnels, synchronized light show, massive trees, giant snowflakes, etc. were awe-inspiring. I loved that this was walkable! It was about a mile long, and so much fun to be able to go at our own pace. There were so many food trucks (I wish I knew these would be there since we grabbed dinner beforehand)! There were 2 bars... one at the beginning, and another half-way through, with cocktails?", beer (bottled/canned) and wine. My son had the time of his life.... Running around, dancing, and just loving the lights. The scheduled/times entry helped with reducing crowds. TONS of photo ops! There were decorations for Hanukkah and Kwanza. The CONs: The parking lot is a giant uneven dirt lot and not very well lit. There were tons of holes and lumpy areas that were difficult to navigate with a stroller and little kid. The path was also uneven in many parts. Several of the displays appeared old, worn, dirty, or lights were burnt out. read more

You pick a time slot I chose 530 as it gets cold out that way. Plenty of parking. Well structured plenty of employees directing parking and throughout Hoilday Road Show. This event will be from November 25th - December 30th 5pm-10pm Prices vary on day you go Yes there property is ADA accessible and has ADA restrooms located on site. Please be mindful that there are several different terrains on the grounds of King Gillette Ranch that you will traverse including dirt and asphalt. The trail has seating in certain pre show zone and a rest stop halfway through the walking experience. Plenty seating for folks bales and tables. I suggest dressing warm clothing as the Temps are a bit chilly. Dress to empress photo opps ! Selfish galore time. Immediately upon entry you see all these photos oops so dress your best and get your Christmas photos Ladies. I seen several families dressed in pajamas and well dressed for those perfect Christmas After your photo oops station there was a few food trucks there we opted out for food trucks. But low and behold there is a huge Bar and a pop up called Bubbles & Brew so awesome. Although I was amazed I passed on the bar to enjoy the north pole set up amazing!!!! You can expect to see larger than life holiday installations, thousands of Christmas lights, Santa, Mrs. Claus, Elves, countless candy canes and all your favorite holiday cheer! Some nice photo ops at Holiday Road. The trail is over a mile long, and it's a pleasant and easy walk. There are lots of light displays along the way. The best ones in my opinion were light tunnels, a field of synchronized lights with music, and lights in the huge trees. There are also a few "Santa workshops " where you can buy miscellaneous toys and gifts. There's also a bar and a food truck area. Food trucks included: sweets/ice cream, pizza, tacos, delicatessen, hot drinks (coffee, tea, etc), and fries. We got ice cream and were very underwhelmed. Some of the displays looked tired- I saw several with broken pieces. The music was a bit random. I heard "Gangsta's Paradise" playing but did not hear "Holiday Road" at all. Bathroom situation is porta-pottys only. Parking is ample and well-organized. Overall, logistics were handled well. The traffic flow was good and it never felt crowded or congested. For folks with strollers, the terrain is mostly even and flat. Some is paved and some is dirt/hay. The roughest part is the rocky parking lot. This was a nice event and a good way to try something different but probably will not repeat visiting next year. read more
