Ask the Community - Candy Cane Lane
Will the lights be up today?
They are usually up and ready to see a week or so before Christmas. So yes! They should 100% be up today.
Hi, how long will the decorations last this year? Thanks 😊
They last until the weekend after Christmas.
When I was a kid in the 90's, there was always that one house that went all out with decorations and lights. It was like Disneyland! Is that house still there?
No, but others have come in. I know the house you're talking about, it has been replaced, and there are others now.
When does it open to the public?
It's never not, it's a purely volunteer activity in a public neighborhood. People tend to have decorations up after the first weekend in December, though not all do it, we've had a lot of vandalism and disrespectful visitors these past 8 years so…
Are the lights up until New Years?
Unless you live in the neighborhood, it's really not worth going to see. Very few houses have lights up and there's a ridiculous amount of traffic.
Is it open after 10pm?
Not from what I have read it closes at 10:00 but last week we went and there were so many cars we did not get out of there till 10:00 and it was still lit up
Can we walk the neighborhood?
Our general feel is please follow whatever the rules the city dictates, if people keep distance and wear a mask this tends to be fine.
Anyone been this year? Are people participating?! I want to go next week!
Yes, many neighbors are doing it while others have held back due to Covid concerns. Many houses to see, please be mindful and wear a mask as many neighbors are cautiously participating and may choose to not if they do not see people being…
How do I purchase tickets to attend?
This is a free event, volunteer and based upon what the neighborhood wants to do. Please be mindful of people's homes and since we have many people concerned about Covid please wear a mask, and most importantly, have fun.
Are they doing candy cane lane this year? Also when can I begin to go?
Many neighbors are yes, usually starts the 2nd week of December. Some are yes, but due to abuse by…
Can we still drive by this year?
Yes, many neighbors are doing it while others have held back due to Covid concerns. Please be respectful of their caution and wear a mask, we are happy to see happy people and many are doing the event.
How crowded does it get?
Weekends it's the most crowded, closer to Christmas it's bumper-to-bumper but still fun. This year due to Covid I'm not sure how it will be.
Will candy cane Lane be up and running this year or not due to Covid?
Yes, many neighbors are doing it while others have held back due to Covid concerns. Many houses to see, please be mindful and wear a mask as many neighbors are cautiously participating and may choose to not if they do not see people being…
Will Candy Cane Lane still be open this year?
Yes. ...But due to abuse by some people (loud music late, theft of decorations, vendors selling…
Is this open yet?
Usually it's going fully the 2nd week of December. 2020 being an odd year, it's hard to tell how many will do it.
Is it open this holiday season 2020?
It is. Usually going the 2nd week of December. However due to Covid some are not doing it, some are doing it more, hard to tell.
Are the lights still up? Or do they remove right before New Years?
Officially closed New Years Day but it REALLY slows down after Christmas. It's all volunteer so a lot of people are of the opinion that Christmas ends on Christmas, which makes sense but it varies.
Is candy cane lane still going on today?
No, it's October, just kidding, but it tends to end on the 26th but some stay up until the 31st but be willing to see many coming down if you come after the 26th.
