New beauty salon to open in Dalkey; from the outside it's completely revamped so it's brightened up…read morethe place and inside, their bright fresh look continues. Straight into the nail/pedi parlour area this is also where the reception desk... I was a walk in, so with no appointment I was greeted by friendly assistant, chancing my arm for shellac nails at 5pm on a Saturday, this was not a problem she promptly seated me and got it underway. At great price of €25 they have a huge range of colours! They offer everything from hands, feet and body treatments plus their waxing is priced really well so will be popping back and availing of this. Only 2 doors up from me, this could be my regular go to place... Also love they do make up application so for special occasions this could work great for me :-) Whilst my nails were being done, there was light hearted chat going on amongst us; there was another lady having her nails done and the 2 workers, one being the owner and she was super friendly, within a few weeks of opening they've really done well in the village, considering local competition these ladies have a great reputation so people have warmed to them and got booking in with them. My nails are looking great... They lasted for 3 weeks so great job and when I went back to have the shellac redone, the experience was again excellent :-)

Perfection. Recognizing that yelp is not the review tool of choice in Ireland, I'm writing this…read morespecifically with expats in mind. I moved to Dublin from San Francisco 6 months ago and have had a heck of a time finding a decent mani/pedi...until now. Boom, Amia. Not only do they make my sausage fingers look beautiful but they also make me feel welcome and warm and as though I'm an old friend walking through the door when I come in. Getting my nails done used to be a chore; I now look forward to it. Aaaand that's just the tip of the iceberg. Dive into their spa treatments and there is no way you'll be disappointed. In fact, I'll bet you my own money that you'll find a new level of bliss with their services. Specifically, I treated myself to the body exfoliation scrub and the hot stone massage treatment. I'm not gonna lie, I've had some pleasurable experiences in my life but they're all almost a distant second to this spa treatment. Head's up, it's not the mani/pedi price and experience you'd be used to coming from San Francisco. It's not a quickie in and out but schedule yourself some time for it. It's worth it. Friendly, attentive, exceptional salon services. Do it.

I met Lily two years ago. I didn't rush to leave a review, because anyone who truly understands…read moreskincare knows that results take time. After moving to Ireland from Russia, I spent a whole year searching for proper skincare treatment. I had facial issues due to an accident, plus naturally porous skin, so I really needed to bring my face back into balance. Most clinics offered treatments that didn't actually work for my problems - mostly superficial peels and procedures, each costing at least €300 per session, and I was told I'd need at least 5-8 sessions. Very few places are run by real doctors - mostly by people who only completed short beauty courses. Lily is a doctor of Chinese medicine. She uses top-quality Italian and American equipment and offers bold, effective laser therapy solutions. After just a few sessions, we managed to smooth out the scars on my face, and a couple of marks on my nose became much less visible. Now, I go for a maintenance laser session every six months, use one cream, and my skin looks well cared for. I'm 44 years old, and I can confidently recommend Lily to my friends now - don't be afraid to take care of your skin! Laser treatments are an excellent alternative to short-term solutions like Botox and fillers. Ladies - go to Lily without hesitation! Tell her Gala recommended her :) She has a wonderful energy and a great attitude! Don't believe the negative reviews - they usually come from people who expect miracles after one session or want treatment for free. I'm sure of it!

The Royal Marine Hotel, where Sansana is located, is a beautiful hotel that looks like it's straight out of the Wes Anderson movies! Amazing! Once I got to the hotel(where I was not staying by the way) I had to find my way to the spa. I wish it would have been more clearly marked, but ah well. I went through at least 5 sets of double doors to actually get to the spa, where you get buzzed in! Once I was in the spa, I was promptly taken to the locker room where Sylvie(masseuse extraordinaire) had set up my locker with robe/towels/slippers. I got changed and she escorted me to the treatment room! It was so tranquil and the temperature was comfy cozy! We chatted for a moment about the normal stuff - injuries, stress points, current pain, etc- then she got to work! It. Was. Amazing. When I go back, I'm requesting Sylvie specifically! After the massage, I got a facial. There were many different stages and each one was a surprise- especially the scalp massage at the end! The products used were gentle and smelled great! After the facial, I had the dry flotation treatment. Wtheck is that, right? It was basically like being in a water bed, without the water, and being really warm. I was way relaxed during this and even dozed off for a few minutes! All in all, I had a really great experience. The staff were helpful and calming, the facilities were hyper clean and well decorated. When I wasn't in the spa, I had access to the hotel pool, the relaxation rooms that had massage beds and reading nooks, and helping myself to the lemon water and their magazines. Did I mention the sauna and steam rooms? The not so great thing was the robes! They were stiff and small. For a nice spa, I expected a big fluffy robe that you could lounge in. 4 stars!
