Dr. Eisenman is our primary care physician since 2014 and I take my kids here before I take them to a pediatrician. I have been treated with acupuncture since I was 14 (so for 26 years) and I've lived in multiple countries and had several different holistic doctors over the years. (As well as traditional ones.) I have a M.Sc. and a PhD and I'm one of those moms that is very thorough when it comes to anything related to my health or that of my family. Irrespective of curricula and experience, a Traditional Chinese Doctor may or may not have the gift of feeling the points and understanding your body in a holistic way. That's a talent one is born with and Dr. D. Eisenman at Holistic Primary Care certainly has that gift. He is extremely knowledgeable as well, and his expertise and knowledge never cease to amaze me -- from every little muscle in your body to physiological and infectious processes, you name it, he is very studied and solid. He combines Thai massage trigger points with Chinese medicine and many other techniques. But going beyond that he has the ability to combine variables and understand what is going on in holistic way. I call him our miracle maker. He can fix whatever problem you have, even when you (or your traditional doctor) do not know what it is. He treats me since I moved to Miami -- for a boost in my defenses, for migraine, for back pain, for the flu every other Dr told you you'll have to be in bed for a week, for exhaustion after a business trip marathon, for thyroid issues, and I could go on and on. He also treats both my kids (8 and 12) and got my son's recurring lung infections to stop and helped my daughter get rid of a calcium deposit (Sever's disease) so that she could do sports again. Without antibiotics. Without albuterol for Asthma. Without cortisone or steroids. Several of my family members were treated here: for high blood pressure, to minimize the effects of Hashimoto's, for their lower back pain due to a damaged disc. Some of them are the type of person that would never go to a holistic doctor, and yet, they felt so much better that they kept going. There's so much I'm thankful for, that I have been delaying writing this review for two years to make sure I do not forget anything. These people are super scammers. They make you believe you have issues with your gut and talk you into doing a stool test. You get your results and oh my god shocking you have all sorts of stuff and of course their solution is to sell you god knows how many supplements at once that will rid you of everything! After? Spend more money with an acupuncture session that really does nothing. When you come for your results, magic! Everything is gone! Such a scam. Spent over 1k going to this "doctor" Who did nothing but scare me and make me feel even more sick. Gosh the mental and physical torture I went through was terrible. Dear HPC, I've been coming here for over a year and I would trade it in for the world. My biweekly visits are what keep me going day to day. Every other week I get to come here and completely zen-out for an hour, forgetting about every care in the world. My love always asks me how I manage to fall asleep with needles all over me, but somehow I do, and it's the BEST hour of sleep I ever get. My holistic doctor/therapist is Dorothy Wells. She's amazing. Over the course of the last year we have developed a great relationship. I pretty much tell her everything that's going on with me and together we decide what is most important to work on and target that visit. From stress and anxiety, to insomnia, to sore throats. I think one of the best things that acupuncture treats is migraines. There have been times I come in to see Dorothy that my head just feels like it's going to explode. She always manages to get my headache in check and I leave feeling like a million bucks. Then there are days I'm super tense and Dorothy will give me an amazing 10 minute massage to set the tone before we do the needles. At each session, there's always awesome music playing in the room and she always turns the lights off during my relaxation time. It's truly the most zenful experience ever. When I found out I was pregnant, I was a little worried that I would have to stop treatments. Luckily, acupuncture and pregnancy go great together. She is able to target specific needs and issues which have helped me have an amazing first 4 months. I had a lot of insomnia my first trimester and visits here always put me right to bed. If you are looking for an acupuncturist in the Miami or Miami Beach area, I would like to effusively recommend Dorothy Wells and Holistic Primary Care. I searched for quite a long time in Miami to find someone to replace my previous practitioner on the West Coast and at first did not have a lot of luck. I wanted someone to work with me on some long-standing issues of stress, reoccurring UTI's, bolstering my immune system and most importantly fertility as my husband and I had been trying to get pregnant. I knew I would like to take the time and focus on my health with someone to guide me in a full holistic approach. Fertility is a very emotional subject and an incredibly personal journey, and Dorothy has been absolutely wonderful, caring and empathetic. During this time we had also decided to get some routine fertility testing done to get an accurate picture of what we were dealing with. The reproductive endocrinologist I saw immediately tried to steer me towards IVF (I am in my late 30's) even though I had no explainable issues. My husband and I along with Dorothy felt that this was a bit premature and I continued to see Dorothy for treatments along with an herbal protocol she put me on and also continued to focus on my health, diet, and routines. In July we found out we were pregnant and I am currently 16 weeks along! I have been under therapy with Don at Holistic Primary Care for my chronic Vertigo and Scar Tissue/Frozen Shoulder since Nov 2011. To much avail, he has utilized his skill and expertise of NMT (Neuro-Muscular Therapy) and Chinese Acupuncture coupled with Chinese herbs for my recovery. Over one year ago I had oral surgery, ever since then the top left side of my mouth did not heal properly. I went back to the dentist and they told me I had a sinus infection and then preformed laser treatment which helped a bit. But after a couple of weeks the pain was back. I was then referred to Dr. Eisenman and I told him about my condition and that I had a chronic sinus infection. After my consultation he informed me that the root cause of the infection was impairment of my sinus cavities. He then preformed a treatment which included acupuncture, as well as neuromuscular therapy in which he preformed a specialized massage on the inside and outside of my mouth and neck areas. He told me that adhesions and myofacial restrictions were part of my problem, therefore he addressed those issues with the massage. He then preformed acupuncture and prescribed me some herbs to address my sinus infection and pain. I now realize how much pain I was actually in, I had just gotten so used it that I did not realize how bad it was. In addition the left side of my face is no longer swollen and puffy, which I also didn't realize until after my treatment. Even weeks later I am still pain free, after just one treatment. He also prescribed herbs to my husband when he had COVID which helped to reduce his symptoms. I have since referred several friends and family members to him. I went in to see Dorothy because I was just on the verge of getting sick. I had a sore throat that began the night before, and I really didn't want it to turn into a full-blown cold. I had that achy sick feeling and just generally felt lousy. Their office is in the Waverly, and you go in and tell the doorman you're there for acupuncture. It's on the fourth floor and has a nice waiting area that feels very calming. After my treatment, I also got to check out the meditation garden that is right outside the office. It was very serene and a nice extra to make you feel super relaxed and healthy. The general decor of the Waverly has an Asian vibe to it that's great to put you in the mood for acupuncture. The treatment was perfect. First, Dorothy asked me about medical history and current symptoms of what I wanted to treat (for me, an incipient sore throat). I've only had acupuncture a few times before, and it's always weird to get stuck with needles, but Dorothy was very gentle and explained what each needle was for if I asked. Soft music played while the needles were in and working their magic. After she took the needles back out, Dorothy gave me some Chinese herbs (luckily, they were in the form of pills so not too hard to get down). The best part: I felt a thousand times better! I had to work that evening, which I was dreading because I felt like crap, but it turned out to be fine. Surprisingly, I felt better while working than I had all morning! My sore throat lingered for another day or so before completely disappearing, but that awful sick feeling was completely gone after the treatment. Dr. Eisenman helped me with my anxiety, my skin issues, digestion, my mood and my pain. He did a thorough GI mapping test where I found out I had leaky gut. I did a 20 days cleanse with herbs and acupuncture treatments and the results where incredible. I had glowing skin and my stomach was flat like never before. This place I have recommended to at least 5 different people suffering from body ailments and pains. The doctor was very nice, took time and intention to fix my problems. I was on muscle relaxers for days before treatment that were not doing anything for my Pinched nerve in my neck. I usually don't write any reviews because of the time that this may take but this time I thought I needed somehow express my gratitude to Dr. Eisenman for providing me such a great service and treating me effectively. I went to see Dr. Eisenman a few times to treat me for different conditions. The last two times he treated me were right before a trip overseas that I was planning to have. Back then I was having a cold for over a week that wouldn't improve as days pass by. I usually don't get sick but when I do it takes me a while to fully recover. One of the reasons for that is because I don't take any traditional medicine to avoid the harm that these cause to our bodies. The cold that I got this time was more like the bronchitis kind of cold that is hard to combat. When I went to see Dr. Eisenman he clearly knew how to treat me after learning all about my symptoms and examining me accordingly. I was extremely impressed with his attention to all my needs and listening my symptoms fully. His holistic approach is impressive and hard to find in any other medical provider. I took my first treatment the very same day that I went to my appointment and the outcome was great, the bad coughing that I was having improved significantly and after two days my cold was practically gone. Thanks to Dr. Eisenman I was able to enjoy my trip without having to be worried about getting worse with my cold. In another occasion, I also went to see Dr. Eisenman to relieve my stress symptoms because of my upcoming trip. At that point I received an acupuncture session, it was actually the first time in my life that I got treated with acupuncture and it felt great. Dorothy and Don do amazing work here. I first came through a friend's referral and worked with dorothy doing acupuncture for overall health. She was able to quickly help me in getting me the right herbs to help with my overall health and balance and she is very caring for her clients. I happened to get into a car accident a few months ago, and was able to do muscle work and acupuncture with Don to help alleviate my pain. The work he does is very good and he is very knowledgeable about the human body. Also they were even able to recommend an herbal wash that i was using on my face for my dog, when he was suffering from bad allergies. Dorothy pointed out that they sell a dog version but the dog version and the people version had almost the same ingredients, so suggested i try the one i already had on him... and it worked wonders. Whenever he has a hot spot, i spray him with the yin care and the skin calms down in a few minutes. I have to say they are just an amazing team and ALWAYS go above and beyond for their patients. I'd been struggling for years with various chronic health issues when I started going to Dr. Wells at Holistic Primary Care. I'm a hard-core skeptic, but I've been interested in moving beyond actually "managing" my symptoms into "healing" my body. Within a matter of weeks, Dr. Wells' treatments turned my health around in a significant way. After each session she answered questions regarding my lifestyle and diet, which made me more aware of how much control I actually have over my own physical & mental health. I realize that's the key though, committing yourself to a lifestyle change if you can. I'd gone to other acupuncturists, but none of them had the bedside manner that Dr. Wells has. She listens, cares (really cares), and is genuinely interested in helping you to stabilize your physical and mental health. And the herbs various herbs she prescribed helped quite a bit, but I'm getting ahead of myself. I went to her for pain in my elbow, which I'd had for quite some time and was becoming unbearable. I tend to just deal with pain instead of having it taken care of as I have lived with chronic pain most of my life due to numerous injuries. I guess I'm a little stubborn. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Dorothy who had a very pleasant energy about her. She did a thorough assessment, explained what she saw in detail based on looking at the color of my tongue (which fascinates me) and then told me her plan of where she would place the needles based on where my pain was and what she felt would benefit me. After placement of each needle, she would check in to see how I was doing. This was probably due to the fact that although I live with pain every day, I'm still kind of a wimp. She put a lot of needles in my elbow and arm, and in some areas it felt like she was screwing them in . Then she hooked up a few of the points on my elbow to a stimulation machine. I have to be honest, I was nervous about it at first. I just kept imagining getting electrocuted. Again, I'm a wimp. When she turned it on, she asked if it was too much and lowered it as needed. The machine felt like it was pulsating each needle so there was some discomfort but I know this goes with healing and it was tolerable, and after a while I got quite used to it. She told me to call her if it became too unbearable and she checked back in with me every few minutes to see how I was doing. At first, my elbow felt very stiff with pressure in the areas the needles were placed. I felt like I couldn't lift it off the table I was laying on. I'm not going to lie, the stimulation machine was pretty scary at first. The ticking sound and the pulsating made me feel like I was being tortured. But I was visualizing how good I was going to feel and as time went on the pain became less and less. When my session was complete, I felt quite a bit better than when I walked in. The next day my elbow pain was still there but it felt a lot better and I was blown away when I got home. That was the best acupuncture I ever had! After a few more sessions the pain was gone. Dorothy's technique is simply amazing to me. I've been seeing her regularly for just general health. She truly cares about her patients and not just for your physical pain; she helps with your overall physical and mental health.
