A dear friend referred me to Kecia Fowler and I'm forever grateful to her because Kecia is perfect for me and for everyone She is calm, kind, listens well, asks leading questions to help draw information from me that it is relevant to my healing. I felt totally safe with her, right at our first meeting. Kecia has taught me so many helpful lessons like, I don't need to remember my trauma to forgive and or release it, to me that was HUGE! She also does this thing called Zero Balancing where she reads the energy flow through within the body and can detect blockages and with her gentle touch and acupuncture needles she can help get things back into a balanced flow. I love that at every session we talk first about what's going on and how I'm feeling emotionally and physically, because every little detail means something and the more she knows the better she can help me heal myself. It is like going to a high end resort spa - decor, music, candles, heated massage bed- along with the acupuncture. So it is emotionally, mentally, and physically rejuvenating. Katie brings another level to it with her caring and her ability to adapt the needle placement to changing emotional, mental, and physical issues. I started here with lots of physical issues that had happened all at once and the trauma of the two storms during this time of physical pain and medical issues. I had almost no energy and no appetite. This pain and symptoms had lasted for 4 months and physical therapy did not help. After 4 sessions with Katie, I was able to walk normally and with no pain in knee, no rib pain from costochondritis, and my energy was flowing again. I felt mentally and physically capable of getting out and enjoying things again. My energy is flowing. She gave me advice that I actually took because of her knowledge and her caring attitude and that has also made a big difference. Now that I am feeling well, I am still going to go at least once a month because it may be the best thing I have ever done to feel better. Waiting Room: Comfy, bright, cheerful and "homey" as opposed to sterile. Front Desk Staff: From the minute I stepped into this office, I felt welcome. Robin greeted me as if we went way back, so warm, personable and kind. I couldn't help but feel relaxed and at ease. Treatment/Consult: Dr. Jaqua listened to my many ailments and lengthy health history without judgement (wow!) while making suggestions and sharing insights along the way. I'm a big baby, so I was a bit concerned that the adjustment would hurt. Not the case! The special chiropractic chair has this somewhat odd dropping mechanism - it's part of the adjustment process. Dr. Jaqua prepared me and walked me through the steps as not to create an unpleasant surprise when applying pressure. I have been treated with acupuncture since I was 14 (so for 26 years) and I've lived in multiple countries and had several different holistic doctors over the years. (As well as traditional ones.) I have a M.Sc. and a PhD and I'm one of those moms that is very thorough when it comes to anything related to my health or that of my family. Irrespective of curricula and experience, a Traditional Chinese Doctor may or may not have the gift of feeling the points and understanding your body in a holistic way. That's a talent one is born with and Dr. D. Eisenman at Holistic Primary Care certainly has that gift. He is extremely knowledgeable as well, and his expertise and knowledge never cease to amaze me -- from every little muscle in your body to physiological and infectious processes, you name it, he is very studied and solid. He combines Thai massage trigger points with Chinese medicine and many other techniques. But going beyond that he has the ability to combine variables and understand what is going on in holistic way. I call him our miracle maker. He can fix whatever problem you have, even when you (or your traditional doctor) do not know what it is. He treats me since I moved to Miami -- for a boost in my defenses, for migraine, for back pain, for the flu every other Dr told you you'll have to be in bed for a week, for exhaustion after a business trip marathon, for thyroid issues, and I could go on and on. He also treats both my kids (8 and 12) and got my son's recurring lung infections to stop and helped my daughter get rid of a calcium deposit (Sever's disease) so that she could do sports again. Without antibiotics. Without albuterol for Asthma. Without cortisone or steroids. Several of my family members were treated here: for high blood pressure, to minimize the effects of Hashimoto's, for their lower back pain due to a damaged disc. Some of them are the type of person that would never go to a holistic doctor, and yet, they felt so much better that they kept going. I've been hunting for a trustworthy and "the right" chiropractor for years now and I can honestly say, I found that with The Source. We drive ~45 mins to get to them but they are worth every traffic battle. Here's my long winded experience in case you are on the fence about seeing them: The first time patient visit encompasses everything you wished your previous chiropractors would do - testing your mobility and movement, resistance and strength, any aches or pains or discomfort or concerns - not just with a piece of paper where you write all of these things down but with you moving, walking, squatting, and provider guided testing. It was a process that was not rushed, very informative, and extremely appreciated. Both my husband and I felt seen and heard from our very first visit - really from the very first phone call when I inquired about care I felt that way. I've never had that much of an in-depth on-boarding patient experience before. The treatment plans, for both my husband and I, were thoughtfully laid out and explained and got us excited about the care. I am postpartum with my second born and my career is hard on my body - I have been being treated for almost 3 months now and I can adequately say I feel different in the best way. I've had a rib that's been out of position for 20 years that was repositioned into it's appropriate place (ouch during recovery but WORTH IT) and I no longer have a "drop shoulder" and I can breathe deeper. My posture is better and I am more mindful with my ergonomics while working. My pelvic floor is getting stronger and my low back pain when bending over is gone. I used to get extreme headaches when jumping up and down and now I can jump around with my kids without issue (it was explained to me why I get headaches when I jump and how they can help correct this). 10/10 thankful over here. My husband has also been in care with The Source for almost 3 months and he is leaps and bounds better than when he first walked in the door. He has dealt with chronic pain for 10+ years, mood outbursts from that pain, and restrictions. my husband had a back injury that required surgery, but he needed steriod injections to reduce the…read moreswelling of the nerves in lower back. i was told he could be seen as early as monday since he has been in severe pain for 4 weeks. i gave them my insurance and provided all the medical records. i was supposed to receive an appointment. two days later they tell us they don't take our insurance. i called my insurance and they accept 90% of the treatment with a 10% copayment. clearly these people don't know what they are doing. i have informed the referring physcian to not refer patients in severe acute pain, as this place doesn't have patient care in mind.
