Dillon is the best. I have been getting my color done by Dillon for almost 3 years now. He listens to his clients and doesn't make you feel rushed. He is very meticulous with his work. He genuinely cares about the outcome and wants his clients to walk away satisfied. The Salon is in a great location right next to Wash Park. The salon is cozy and quaint, very relaxing. 5 stars. I just woke up 2 &1/2 weeks after my cut and color with such a great hair day and I had to stop gatekeeping my girls at holistic salon. Grace is a Master of her Craft; her balayage is fire, second to none. I've been going to her for 11 years and I've never left disappointed (which is realistically a compliment because we've all left hair stylists at one point in our lives feeling a little glum.) Grace knows color and takes your skin tone into account. She even balayaged my hair this last time while trying to keep my gorgeous grays intact, like who does that?? Krista is also a total ace! Terrible experience with hair color. During the color the stylist got the color all over my face. To top that off she made my dark brown hair jet black. I had to go back again where they attempted to correct their mistake by applying two treatments of Malibu. Stylist applied it to grey roots and the rest of the hair all in one sitting which was a mistake! The Malibu barely lifted the black but made my roots orange which I could not see until I got to a place where there was good light. Also the toner they were supposed to apply after Malibu never got done. When I asked male stylist if he was going to apply toner, he said no. I trusted him:( After two total fails I had zero faith in their abilities, want my money back!!!! FYI this salon has terrible lighting. I had to pay ULTA for a toner treatment, now I'm going to have to pay a qualified salon over $300 to get rid of this black hair. Owner is refusing to refund my money. Terrible experience, terrible waste of time, huge wage of money. These stylists are complete amateurs and liars. Total scum. I want my $172 back!! read more

TLDR: Holistic salon does not want children in the salon at all unless the child is getting a service. They lack compassion for families and the courage to have face to face conversations. This review is for patrons who are parents. In June 2022 we were made aware of a no kids policy. We had been bringing in our daughters when childcare fell through, schedules changed etc., instead of cancelling. I figured that cancelling last minute (not earning $) was worse than bringing in a kid. And each time, we explained and apologized. Stylist and owner present said it was ok every single time. Because this was portrayed as a 'safety' issue, I feel compelled to state that our children have never touched a curling iron, grabbed scissors, or run around the salon disturbing other patrons. Second, It would be one thing if this were a quiet and serene environment. However, there are always hair dryers running, dogs running around, people talking etc. Once we were informed of this policy that was on the website, we did our best to avoid possible situations. On Friday, the original plan was for me to pick up both kids from school and take both to a follow up doctor appointment for the younger child. That did not happen. The school nurse called and our 5 yo had to be picked up early from school because of a stomachache at 2. I was already at the salon and came up with Plan B. I asked my husband to pick her up and he'd pass her off to me at 3 (his haircut appt was at 3). Unfortunately, we weren't able to connect before I had to leave to pick up younger child on time. Therefore, the 5yo was at his 30minute haircut, on the sofa, on the phone watching PBS kids. Apparently, this was unacceptable because we received an email three days later stating they were ending the relationship. Not once did either owner have a face to face conversation with us about the issue (even though they seem to think there were verbal reminders lol). It is incredibly cowardly and inconsiderate to have been treated this way. It's not like we want either child to be at a salon appointment. It's a last ditch resort. And getting my hair done, is one of the few luxuries I allow for myself as a working mom with two kids. I did have our oldest get two haircuts at Holistic... the first appointment we were charged $30 for the stylist to snip the ponytail. The second, with Elizabeth, was a proper haircut and done well. Additionally, my husband had been a client of Grace for 5/6 years and I had been a client for 4 years. They let go reliable and consistent customers. And let's be clear, this is not a safety issue. These owners just do not want children in the salon. read more

I absolutely loved it here!! Right when I walked into the salon I felt welcome and comfortable. I love the products they offer and how they help talk clients through what would work best for them. My hair stylist was Claire Edwards, not only did she do an amazing job but she was so easy to talk to, fun and down to earth - I felt like I was hanging out with a friend! I've been seeing Gracie for a few years now and cannot say enough good things about her. She is such a pro at handling my thick and hard to manage hair. I know my hair tends to take longer than average and she continually puts in 110% to make it look great. She has taken my brunette hair neon pink and back to brunette all while maintaining its health. I've recommended several of my friends to her and they have always loved the results as much as I have. Mallory made me love my hair again. I was so bored with my straight brown hair, so when I walked past Holistic Salon I was ready for what they were offering. The coolest vibe shop I have been into hands down - I wanted to hangout there all day! Mallory poured me a glass of rosé, listened to who I was an what I wanted, and from there breathed LIFE and FUN into my hair. She did a balayage on my brown hair and made it the exact color of my dreams. People thought it was natural. Her cut was just as good - she gave my shoulder length hair bounce with fun ends and layers, while still keeping it cool and effortless. I recently went to Grace to get a haircut and balayage! I wanted to lighten up my hair but don't like getting my hair done very often so balayage was the perfect choice for me! Grace was FANTASTIC! She is very professional, talented and upfront about pricing which i appreciated. She did a great job blending the color so it has a very natural look to it! A few days after I realized I really wanted to bring the balayage a little bit higher and closer to my roots to lighten it up even more. Grace was more than accommodating and got me in immediately to touch it up so that it was exactly what I wanted! I will definitely be going back to Grace for all my hairstyle needs. read more

I once had Gracie do a balayage my ends and give me bright red tips, and then I went home and used color safe shampoo from target to clean it - and it faded sooo quickly (as drugstore shampoo will do!). She had educated me to use the right shampoo, butttttt I was being cheap... so when I was honest with her what happened, she still offered to fix it for free.
