Situated on the north coast of Norfolk, this beach is a little out of the way, but definitely worth a special trip. I go there at least once every summer, even though it means three hour drive from London.
The beach is a part of Holkham Hall and Estate, and boasts miles and miles of sandy shores, sand dunes and unspoilt nature. I can't think of a better place to relax and unwind, with picnic basket in hand. I make a point of visiting during the week, as there is hardly anybody about, so the feeling of peace and tranqulity is even heightened. With sun on my face, warm sand under my feet, ocean waves rolling to and fro, and occasional horse rider for company, one can only think of one word to describe the feeling - bliss. The entrance to the beach is lined with pine trees, which add a special feel to the place.
It is hard to tear yourself from the beach once you are there, although the nearby Holkham Estate is definitely worth visiting too.
There are parking facilities at the beach entrance, as well as Holkham Hall itself, at a very reasonable rate. read more
