Deliciousness at its best. Seaweed rice cakes, muesli like woah, and so much other good stuff. Walking into this place made me weak in the knees. I want it all! All! On my dinner plate. And in my lunch box. And in my bowl with milk in the morning. Too bad I can't afford it all. Although the store doesn't have astronomical prices and I do think it's cheaper than Holland and Barrett, it is more expensive than your chains like Iceland or Tesco Metro. Sad but true. The prices were NOT terrible, but more than I felt like spending. On a day I feel like treating myself, however, I will definitely go back. Also, as a note, I heard one member of the staff advising a customer on nutrition, and I think he gave some good suggestions. Basic, at least in my mind which tends to have a nutrition fix, but not something all people think about - whole grain instead of white bread and potatoes, honey instead of sugar, etc. Sum it up in one word? Knowledgeable. In two? Knowledgeable and helpful. I'm going to have to go back. The only reason I knocked it down a star I price is because it's more expensive than general grocery stores, but that's always the case in this sad sad world. Woe is us poor organic food lovers.

Offering an alternative to the fayre provided by most places at that time of day - e.g. pastries, croissants, bacon rolls - Moma sells several healthy breakfasts, including Bircher muesli (yoghurt, fruit and oats), granola, and oat-based smoothies in a variety of flavours: blueberry, mango and banana, among others. The stalls also sell flapjacks, fresh juice and fruit, and it is all tasty stuff as well as being pretty healthy. Definitely worth a try! The MOMA food is also available in Selfridges and at Cafe Arlington, a not-for-profit cafe in Southwark Bridge Road.

Most of the food I've tried so far has been excellent, with one exception - the noodles. They aren't terrible, they just aren't up to scratch for the price or in line with the quality of some of the other menu options. Breakfast is my favourite meal at Abokado. The multi seed bagel filled with avocado, shichimi and sea salt is delicious and my top pick. The bacon sandwich, served in a pretzel roll, has the perfect amount of ketchup and sauce, and using the pretzel roll for it adds a nice touch. The yoghurt and chia pots are pretty good too, maybe slightly overpriced. For lunch my pick are the 'salads', in particular the chicken and avocado one. It's a good portion size, tastes fresh and is well prepared with some good additions, like a hard boiled egg. I would definitely recommend Abokado, and I do keep returning, you just need to pick the right dish. Just to add - my noodles weren't microwaved (at least not in front of me!) as suggested in a previous review. They were kept warm in a heated cabinet.

There's a small takeaway counter in front, but the rest of the restaurant is massive, though the standard is not much better than say a Carluccio's or Jamie's Italian. The "healthy" menu is split about half/half between salads and burgers, but I didn't think burgers worked well for a business lunch, so I went for the teriyaki salmon salad. The salad portion was huge, but the salmon itself was very small and only about 10% of the plate. As for the salad, I didn't really enjoy the taste of raw pak choi or sugar snap peas, so I'd say it was rather underwhelming. We also had the vegan mezze with a strange beetroot falafel that more closely resembled red velvet type cookies, served with a flatbread that is wafer thin. To drink, I had the detox juice, but somehow they had left all the vegetable fibers still in the glass, so I wasn't able to have more than half before it became unpleasant. Overall, I don't think this place is worth a return trip and I would be surprised if they manage to fill even half of the very large dining area.

Ah well my fault for saying yes i suppose. This little health food shop that has, as of today only been open 9 days is alone in almost a sea of deep fried, bloated chicken houses and cafes. It sits right next to where I work and a little detour over from the Whitechapel road. Unsurprisingly everything is organic, even the forks! There is an increasing selection of prepacked health food and the shop is slowly moving into hot foods. Slightly unusually they will show you the (very healthy) can of soup and then sell it to you hot with rice for around £4. Unusual, but as a new business they are very sensitive to customers wants and needs. On the first day i was there they had a very nice chilli that was made in their offsite warehouse that day. The place is currently much better for a small lunch snack. Today I bought a double coffee, a piece of gluten free cake and a fruit bar for less than £3, and all pretty tasty. Hopefully their range will improve as the owner assures me that will happen. Even so this place is just about the best around the area for a small healthy lunch snack or a quick hit of coffee to help with the final push of typing before you leave for home
