Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience ordering for Mother's Day. The flowers were delivered on the wrong date without any prior contact, despite paying an additional fee for delivery on a specific day. I followed their instructions and emailed the same day to report the issue, but over a week passed with no response or apology. I had to call the store multiple times over the following weeks just to get any acknowledgement. My original email was never addressed. To make matters worse, when I finally reached someone (the owner, Valerie, I believe), my call was abruptly ended. Overall, this was the poorest customer service experience I've had with a business. Ordered Easter "Sweet Tranquility Basket" for Sister in CBS. I was delivered today so she sent a picture to show me. I was very disappointed. It looked nothing like what I ordered. Was very skimpy and the basket didn't even resemble the website photos. Certainly not worth the price I paid. I live in Ottawa, otherwise I would have visited your location to chose my order. Then I would know what I was buying. I realize there may be substitutions but at least create the actual size shown on your site, of the overall arrangement. Was daughters BDay and I ordered the orchid which was delivered when I asked. What impressed me the most was the addition of a succulent in a beautiful wicker basket. Florist went above and beyond was so unexpected but greatly appreciated. Myself and all of her family live in NS. I wanted to send something special on this day. I ordered flowers and chocolate on the Tuesday before Mother's Day. On Friday, I was notified that the nursery ran out of vases that came with my arrangement. This is not a big deal, and they offered an appropriate substitution. The flowers were delivered on Saturday. They forgot the chocolate, but again, not a big deal... it happens. However, the arrangement was not full. I ordered the "premium" size arrangement (which is their top size), but clearly received a much smaller bouquet (see picture). I received 5 roses instead of 9, fewer lilies, carnations and daisies. I advised Holland's of the mistake and they agreed to send a new arrangement on Sunday. The new arrangement omitted the carnations and daisies altogether. The lilies were not in bloom. Perhaps they ran out of flowers on Mother's Day weekend, but I should've been notified of such an issue. For context, please see the picture. I finally had to drive to the nursery to request a refund of the arrangement and delivery fee. They granted this request as there were other costumers around and what I was returning for $112 (pre tax) was an embarrassment to them. I won't be returning. I usually go to another East End flower studio, which costs more, but provides better quality and service. read more

Ordered an arrangement from their online catalogue last month. Wasn't sure what to get as it was for male and female friends. Went to most popular category and found a beautiful one with lovely flower selection and brilliant blue embellishment. I thought wow this is perfect! Ordered it from Torbay rd branch For 76 plus tax and delivery which came to $105. When they received it (the same day) they sent a text thanking us and by fluke sent the picture of the flowers. I was like um that's not what we ordered. I called the business and asked if they possibly sent wrong one as it looks nothing like the online version we ordered and I also sent both pics. She called back and stated yes it's the correct one. Just some substitutions in there. The vase is blue and it's up to value. That's it? She so indifferently dismissed my obvious disappointment and dismay. I said "sooooo does it ever look like the picture on line?" She responded yeah but you know COVID and all and the arrangement substitutions are of value. Beware of the false advertising of their on line catalogue. Even if they had given me some sort of heads up or call to say that they don't have most of what goes into this arrangement. Nothing..... I've read some other reviews on their site of people having the same issue and saying they may as well have picked up and arranged them themselves from Sobeys. I agree. Lol read more

I was disappointed with the flower arrangement sent by your nursery. I ordered the mix-it -up roses online as I am out of Province. I was mainly interested in the unique colors of lavender, orange and creams as it is not unusual to find the other colors anywhere. I read that there could be substitutions but the readings also stated " If we are unable to provide an arrangement similar to what you order from this website, we will try to contact you by phone or e-mail to discuss possible substitutions with you before filling the order. However, if we are unable to reach you before the specified delivery time, we may have to substitute the closest flowers of equal value in colors that are available at that time to ensure that your intended recipient receives their flowers at the intended time." I received no missed communication from your nursery and the dozen roses consisted of red, dark pink, white (or cream) and yellow. ( from the photo sent by receiver) . She was delighted with the roses and I didn't tell her any different but to me it's the principle of it all. I spoke to the nursery and apparently the policy is they "fix it" by picking up the roses from the recepient. In my view this is fine if it's for a wedding, funeral but it is embarrassing to do this for an individual. The designer was most pleasant and agreed they would accommodate by adding the colors, for the receipent, when the nursery received them the next day. I re-thought and felt this would be lovely if I ordered them for myself but another person might be offended by this, as they've already enjoyed their arrangement. I write this simply to say, for me, the solution to " fix it" really didn't exist, therefore I won't be ordering roses online any time soon. I give them 4 stars regardless, for their professionalism and their failed attempt to accomodate. Thank You read more

I have been dealing with Holland Nurseries for 20 plus years and have had only one problem when the flowers that were delivered were dying. One phone call and they were promptly replaced with fresh cut. Not too shabby for 20 years. I can always depend on the delivery of top quality product. The staff have always been very friendly and most accommodating. Will be calling on them in the morning from Kamloops BC to deliver another Christmas centerpiece to my 80+ year old mom in St. John's. I'd like to take this opportunity to wish the staff of Holland Nurseries ( Torbay Road ) a Very Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year. Looking forward to call upon your services in 2018.
