Where else would one go to pick up rye crisps and sprat pate- a healthy alternative to my typical car snack Cheez-Its ® and the principal explanation for why Russians are so strong and Americans so weak? The rye crisps (Finn Crisp) in particular deserve special mention because they actually tasted good unlike most other rye crisps which taste like chalk. I also picked up a hip flask with a Soviet insignia (vodka not included) because you never know when your car might break down in a snowstorm and you need a gulp of vodka to keep up morale on the long walk home from Siberia. Unlike most impulse shopping excursions, I actually regret not buying more here. There were all kinds of useless trinkets which would've made perfect gifts for unpleasant in-laws and distant relatives... Russian dolls, and animated wooden dolls which can be used to teach children about how bears drink vodka and how a Russian father repeatedly spanks his child. Why doesn't Chicago have a store like this?

I removed the top half of the bun and ate it with a fork, but it you are still eating bread I think you'd like the bun - it's grilled so it has good texture. The kraut is homemade, cut wide and still crisp. The beer mustard was the perfect condiment! So glad I finally made it out to eat their food, I'll be paying more attention from now on!
