My experience with Holli McCray was great and then it took a sudden turn. If I could give no stars I would. This will be long story long but if you're considering working with her it is worth the read. We are a family of 3, soon to be 4 moving from California to Knoxville TN for UTK. Its been very stressful looking for a place to live and Holli reached out to us in reference to a home we applied to on Zillow. She informed us it was unavailable but that there was another place we could shoot for if interested. The place was perfect. We have two dogs, one being a doberman with an ESA letter. Due to that she had to contact a special insurance to get us accepted in the home with our doberman. It took four days to hear back from insurance, my husband and I had to consistently reach out to her asking for updates. We ended up getting accepted to this perfect home for us. She called with "the good, the bad and the ugly" For the rental we wanted that went for 3K a month we would have to put 13K down...that's the most I've ever heard for a rental. We were okay with that. Once it came to signing the lease nearly 2K more of fee's were added on to what we would have to pay 48 hours within signing the lease. Out of no where. At first the house was going to be ready Sept 1. Then Sept 15 due to the renovation. They wanted three months rent up front (9K), we asked for prorated rent as we would only get two weeks in the house. That was one fee added on to the 13K. Making it 4.5 months rent they wanted us to pay that she did not discuss with us at all before sending over the lease. The second fee was $395 for a cleaning fee? I'm not sure about everyone else but whenever I have moved out of somewhere if there was extra cleaning that needed to be done that is what my deposit (3K) would be used for...so what is this fee for and why would tenants need to be paying for a place they have never stepped foot in to be cleaned? Mind you the whole week we had worked with her she had text messaged my husband anywhere from 10-11PM at night. Not a problem for us as we are three hours behind and appreciated that she would text us after-hours. Never did we ask her to though. When she sent over the lease it was about 7PM our time. Of course when we saw an extra 2K added on to our already ridiculously high 13K fee we had asked why the prorated rent and cleaning fee would be added when we never discussed that. That is when everything switched. She pulled the "it's nearly 10 PM here" (like she had not already been messaging us late the whole time we worked with her) saying she had jumped through so many hoops to get our doberman in there and get us accepted and said if WE wanted she could retract the lease. My husband texted back 30 min later that we would accept the lease. We didn't bother her all weekend to give her time to cool down even though she had no reason to be upset. Throughout the weekend the lease became unavailable to sign, even tho we said we would STILL accept the terms that she did not communicate to us. On Monday morning I called to see what was going on only to discover that this "professional" CEO and real estate agent had BLOCKED OUR PHONE NUMBERS! I am 4 months pregnant and this made my hormones rage. I called on restricted about six times and finally left a voicemail being upset that she would block us after a whole week of spending time on getting what she told us we needed to get into this home. I called her cell, my husband called her husband (CFO of this company), and I called her office. All we wanted was answers. My husband and her ended up with one last call where she was very rude about being a horrible communicator and retracting our lease. She got upset he told her she expected us to "pull 15K out of our ass" This women is hard to reach. Everything is almost all over text. Which is VERY HARD for an out of state move. And if you ask me blocking a client once they say they accept a lease is extremely unprofessional. She wasted a week of our time and I'm now 4 mo's pregnant no where to go. read more

Very disappointed with the Holli McCray group. Had house on market for 6 months only 2 showings and I think it was just other realtors just looking. Asked to speak with Holli personally (no response from her at all) because of being dissatisfied. Or possible because we were not in the Knoxville area we got shunned. Attempted to give her firm a second chance we contacted her office about possibly listing a building for sale we owe, but again nobody followed up with us. Also assisting with cleaning out the garage is only because we could not really count on your representatives to give a trustworthy date when it will close. Our experience with Holli McCray Home Marketing was the worst of all of our home buying and selling over the last 40 years. The claim that if we can't sell it, we will buy it means that you will get far less than your home is worth. Our selling agent finally got a buyer but they offered well under our asking price. We countered once and they came up some and we wanted to counter again but our agent told us that buyers don't negotiate. We had a closing date but the buyer postponed the closing. We had already moved out of the house and put our furnishings in storage and rented an apartment based on the original closing date. Our selling agent told us we could not ask for compensation for the additional storage costs and the extra apartment rental time we had to pay for. Our purchasing agent was no better. We purchased a condo that was yet to be built. There were issues with the builder from the beginning. Our purchasing agent told us that we were not allowed to talk to the builder's agent. Everything had to go thru the purchasing agent. A major issue came up and we expected our purchasing agent to fight for us but that was not the case. We were told that there was nothing we could do to get the builder's agent to meet our demands. We were then told that were not to set foot on the condo property without being escorted by the purchasing agent. The purchasing agent and the purchasing agent's broker even tried to pressure us into closing before the condo was completed. We were also told by the purchasing agent to be nice to the builder's agent because that person was the person we had to go thru to get warranty work done. In the end, the purchasing agent did not even show up at the closing. Neither the selling agent or the purchasing agent followed up with us after the closing. These are not people we will ever recommend or do business with again. read more
