He was hired to install vinyl flooring and repair soft spots using OSB, yet the issues were not corrected and in some areas were made worse. Scraps of vinyl were wedged beneath the flooring in an attempt to make the surface appear level, resulting in rising sections and visible gaps along the walls. The soft spots were not repaired but simply covered. He was also contracted to complete drywall work, during which multiple electrical outlets were covered, joint compound was left splattered across the floors, and sanding was either incomplete or entirely absent in several rooms. No cleanup was performed after any stage of the work. Throughout the project, he repeatedly commented on other jobs he was "missing out on" because mine was taking too long. As the current client, my project should have been his priority, completed with professionalism and pride in workmanship. Instead, after the first week, he began arriving late in the afternoon rather than in the mornings, communication deteriorated, and he displayed frustration when concerns were raised. Overall, the contractor took advantage of a situation that required careful resolution, demonstrated poor communication, and delivered substandard work.
