Well we gave the group ahead of us a five minute head start and we still caught up to them, the staff had to break character multiple times to tell us to hang back but all the other groups had caught up to us too. The group In the very front should have been asked to go last after multiple staff members had to apologize to us for breaking character. Im not mad at the staff or camp blood, I love it there. But it just wasn't acceptable, we paid a lot of money and so did the groups behind us just to walk through and have conversations with the staff. I still appreciate how nice everyone was and it looked awesome but this time around it was just a walk through the woods and no scares. All in all I'm still leaving a 5/5 review because I love camp blood, I would just like to see if that continues to be a problem that the staff would kindly ask people who are ruining the fun for everyone to go last. Here is our favorite haunted houses in order: 1) Netherworld 2) Nightmare's Gate 3) Atrox 4) Paranoia 5) Hellbilly Hollow 6) Nightmare 3008 7) Warehouse 31 8) Hollis Haunted Chicken House 9) Insanitarium 10) Sloss Furnace 11) Mountain Creek Trail of Fear 12) Folklore (only BAD haunt we went to) 9) Insanitarium "Good for a Small Haunt" (7.5 out of 10) (Friday night) Total time on site: 45 minutes....Total time in haunt: 16 minutes All the employees were very friendly. The wait line is in what appears to be a gym and the setup is pretty good and there were 4 different monsters walking/jumping around. Once we got into the room prior to entering the haunt a girl dressed in costume told the group a story about this machine she had been building etc. Once we entered the haunt we weaved our way through many hallways and rooms. I can't say there was a set theme for the haunt, it was more like each room was themed a certain way. There were some good effects used from drop down walls, to lighting tricks, a ghost on a wire that slid across the ceiling, to guys in dresses (not sure why guys were in the dresses), and weaved inside, outside, and back inside. There was no "wow factor" to the haunt like many of the haunts we have been to, but there were plenty of surprises and I screamed plenty of times. The total walkthrough time was 16 minute. Overall I am glad we went, but I wouldn't drive an hour from Calera just to go to it, but if you happen to be on that side of town it's worth going to.

If you're wondering whether or not to take kids, I will say I took my 8 year old daughter this year and she had a BLAST. Whereas last year, she was too scared to go in. Fair warning, they say the "monsters" won't touch you, but some touched me. One of the scariest parts this last year was the chainsaw. I was really scared I would get cut since they were so close to me! The last time I came here, I thought to myself....why again did I voluntarily put myself in this terrifying situation?!
