I was so glad that Google Maps have incorrectly placed this marker on the map (which has since been…read morerectified after I notified them), putting it a lot further north than it actually was. I had just reached the bottom of Mount Macedon and wanted to have a beer at the two pubs here, but was worried that I was going to miss the train. Fortunately, when I turned onto Mount Macedon road, there it was, in the direction of the railway station. This was certainly a really nice pub, and has been done up a lot since the Google car went past. There is an awesome deck out the front, and a garden out the back for engagement parties (there was one on at the time). Mind you, when I went inside to order a beer the bar was crowded with the regulars, all sitting there drinking their beers, and the bartender new exactly what they wanted. However, it is a great little pub in one of those towns that Melburinans (like me) visit for weekend daytrips.

I have to admit that this is the better pub in Gisborne, even if it is just because it has, well,…read moresome nice beers available. Then again, I do happen to be a beer snob, so nice beers on tap is something that I definitely appreciate. They also have a couple of beer gardens, though I have to admit that I found the lower one to be much nicer, and pleasant. The service was pretty good as well, so it is definitely a place to check out.
