So bad we made an account on yelp just to tell yalls how bad this school is. We genuinely do not…read moreknow where to start. Im just going to list everything bad about it 1. No elevators, if you can not get up the stairs, you go to their library and do your upstairs classes virtually. You also are marked absent for all of those classes that you are virtual. Also you can not even where airpods when doing that, someone will give you some horrible earbuds that don't even work with their horrible chromebook. And that brings me to reason number 2 why they are horrible, their tech. 2. The school literally has spyware on your chromebook so teachers can just stalk what you do all the time. Just a tad bit creepy and unnecessary 3. Paying for Saturday detention. Yep, if you get Saturday detention, you also need to pay 15$ to get in. People get these for small things like not having your shirt tucked in or having your phone out for a second. And if you are spotted with your phone, you lose it for 1 whole day and you need to pay to get the phone back+pay to get into Saturday detention. This school says that we should behave like "catholic adults" yet we are treated like total babies. And anything we do that is slightly wrong boom Saturday detention. Even having facial hair. This school is so strict about everything, except one thing that they really should be strict on 4. Literally the most racist and homophobic school possible. And no one on the staff cares. I am not even joking when I say that a teacher got more mad when someone forgot a belt then when someone shouted a slur. I know it sounds like a lie but I promise it is not. This school is a complete joke 5. Deans are a complete joke. Just randomly walking in the hallway to find anyone to yell at. They don't care if that would make someone late to class. They just wanna have some fun. This review was a collaborative effort, written by 2 graduates of sjv, one current senior and one current junior.

Oak hill makes sure the student is doing his work and if extra help is needed, they will help. The homework load is a lot , but that's what makes for a smarter student. We love the small classroom size and the student to teacher ratio. The campus is small but very easy to navigate . The security is also top notch and very careful about student safety. Overall we are very happy with Oak hill. We believe the growth of our son is attributed to Oak hill and would highly recommend this school.

Classrooms and shul set at perfect warm temperatures before the students get there so they could sit and learn in comfort. If looking for a school you should defiently enroll your child to this school. For sure brings so many good memories with students and teachers. Teaching children to grow up very wise with secular and jewish studies, to be kind to others, to think like an adult, to become very mature, and to think outside the box. This is really an outstanding school and jewish community. I'm very grateful for all of my education here, for all of the staff, for the principal, and for the main heads. Thank you so much for everything. (:

They place children in cold classrooms because they cannot afford to fix the heat in the winters. They also don't pay their employees. The teachers have not seen a paycheck in 2 months. The woman principal is disgusting and her behavior towards parents and teachers is belittling. She becomes very defensive when asked a question and treats the children horribly. Not to mention she uses employees as an example to other employees and publicly belittles them, all while attempting to withhold pay. She is an embarrassment to the school and it would be just slightly a better school (not much better, but better) if she was asked to leave. She pushes the employees out. If you're looking to educate your child, please seek elsewhere.

On multiple occasions I heard the teachers in the older childrens' rooms raising their voices…read moreloudly at children who were simply touching things or asking questions (in other words, normal kid behavior that needed gentle guidance & redirection, not an emergency situation of any kind). I could hear this while standing outside the building during pick-up and I also heard it when inside the building in the halls. My child started as a very young infant and the 2 caregivers that worked with her most closely seemed annoyed that she was struggling to take a bottle, or cried, or wanted to be held, or struggled with the texture of some foods when she was later starting on solids. All normal parts of development, learning to eat, etc. Caregiver would make negative comments to my baby in front of me at drop off if the baby started to fuss when separating from me. The 3rd caregiver she had at the school did seem caring and attentive and started to do sensory activities daily. Prior to this, it seemed that there were no books read, songs sang, games played, sensory activities. Staff wanted babies to lay and play by themselves. When I entered the room on a few occasions, I saw most staff scrolling on their phones while sitting on the floor rocking babies in rockers or on their bodies, and with older babies crawling around and not being interacted with. My child seemed traumatized by the lack of nurturing caregiver with whom to bond on her first times away from her mom.
