No elevators, if you can not get up the stairs, you go to their library and do your upstairs classes virtually. You also are marked absent for all of those classes that you are virtual. Also you can not even where airpods when doing that, someone will give you some horrible earbuds that don't even work with their horrible chromebook. And that brings me to reason number 2 why they are horrible, their tech. 2. The school literally has spyware on your chromebook so teachers can just stalk what you do all the time. Just a tad bit creepy and unnecessary 3. Paying for Saturday detention. Yep, if you get Saturday detention, you also need to pay 15$ to get in. People get these for small things like not having your shirt tucked in or having your phone out for a second. And if you are spotted with your phone, you lose it for 1 whole day and you need to pay to get the phone back+pay to get into Saturday detention. This school says that we should behave like "catholic adults" yet we are treated like total babies. And anything we do that is slightly wrong boom Saturday detention. Even having facial hair.This school is so strict about everything, except one thing that they really should be strict on 4. Literally the most racist and homophobic school possible. And no one on the staff cares. I am not even joking when I say that a teacher got more mad when someone forgot a belt then when someone shouted a slur. This school is now Catholic in name only. There is no religious staff and no connection to St Rose of Lima parish, Father Jim or the church. There has not been a full school mass in 2 years. The faculty is either retiring or moving to different schools. The current principal has been hiring parents and substitute teachers as full time teachers. There is no lunch, no plans for lunch and no busing. School athetics have all but dissapeared at the school has had no permenanet AD in 10 years. That sense of community through religion and and atheltics is gone. It is a shell of its former self.

The teachers are loving and dedicated. At the little school, the social and educational curriculum is totally age appropriate. It is the right balance between ABC's, shapes, colors and behavioral education that kids need from age 2 to 4. Plus, the whole transition from our home, to their home (Spring Lake H&D is a house), to Pre-K and Kindergarten (Trinity Church in Manasquan) is gradual move to a more institutional setting that my kids responded to well. Our Son was reading books that were 4 and 5 sentences per page before he got to the first grade. He knew what compound and contracted words were. His math was awesome with addition and subtraction in the thousands. He was a bit over prepared for 1st grade which really helped him settle in to public school. Our daughter is on track to be well prepared as well. We are doing pre-k with her and then sending her to public school for kindergarten, which has more to do with the timing of her late birthday then anything else. Mrs. Bramley and the other teachers give our shy daughter the attention she needs without going overboard. At the little school Mrs. Kirk prepared our daughter well. At the big school, Mrs. Bramley did a great job preparing our son and now our daughter. We trust these awesome teachers deeply.
