During our visit, the staff showed an extreme lack of respect toward us, and the way we were treated felt discriminatory. Before we started picking strawberries, we saw the signs near the farm, but there was no clear rule stating that customers could only pick from one specific row. No staff member explained any such rule to us before we entered the field. However, while we were picking strawberries, one staff member suddenly came over and rudely accused us of moving to a different picking area. Instead of explaining the rule politely, they spoke to us in a very aggressive and disrespectful way and even told us that if we did not want to pick, we could just leave. We did not argue with them and simply continued with our visit. However, after we finished picking and paid, while my friends were taking photos together, the same staff member chased us out from the strawberry field, pointed at us, and loudly scolded us in front of everyone. This behavior was extremely disrespectful and humiliating. This was not just poor customer service. The way we were singled out and treated made us feel that there was clear discrimination involved. We will not recommend this farm to anyone. If you read other Google reviews carefully, it seems this is not the first time customers have complained about rude behavior from the staff. There are also reviews mentioning that they yell at children for eating strawberries and treat people very harshly. A family-friendly farm should make visitors feel welcome, not embarrassed, targeted, or disrespected. We will never come back.

May is peak strawberry picking time in Georgia and my friends and I had been planning this trip to…read morego pick our own for over a month now. This place is cute, sweet (literally!) and an easy day trip from Atlanta - only about an hour away. Perfect for anyone, young or old. Just two things you need to know before you go: **Note that the farm is EAST of I-85**. This means if you're coming down from Atlanta, take a left turn off the exit, and it will be about a mile and a half up the road on the right. The map on this page and in Google maps is correct; the map on the farm's Facebook page and Apple Maps is wrong! They both show the farm west of the interstate and we spent some time driving around there trying to find the farm before trying the other side of the highway.** [glad we did or we would have missed out!] **CALL BEFORE YOU GO!** Every few days or so the orchard needs to close down to allow more berries to ripen for picking -- this is common for all strawberry patches. If you're driving any distance, you don't want to come all that way just to find you can't pick. If they're open, I advise arriving early so they're not over-picked the day you arrive. Current hours (as of 5/7/18) Tues, Thurs, Sat 10-6 Sun 1-5 Or by appointment Now for the experience itself: Utterly charming! Once we did find the farm, we had a lovely time. There were plenty of berries. It was a gorgeous Sunday afternoon and there was a lot of space; no crazy amounts of crowds. The owners were just as lovely as can be. You collect a basket at the start and fill to your heart's content. (note: the darker the berries, the sweeter they are!) You pay by weight; I got a ridiculous amount of berries for only $10. Note that you'll be bending down a lot - strawberry plants are low to the ground, after all. But it's not a strenuous workout. Ripe berries will pop right off easily! And the patch is literally right there at the entrance where you park your car, so no need to worry about walking a long distance either. I went with two other adults and we had a grand time. There were also families there with children and they were having a blast too - so definitely pack up the kids for a day of fun out in the sun and come here.

I was looking for a private experience for our family of 3 that doesn't involve a lot of crowds and where my daughter could have private time with animals and this place was perfect! I booked our experience directly through the website: (when you book, I advice you to do it as well to avoid additional fees) https://lostmountainalpacaranch.com/ I booked the 60 minute experience for our family and we were in for such a treat. The owners David and Tina were very welcoming, friendly, and very open to educating us about their farm, the lovely alpacas, their cats, and the super cute guard dog, Bodhi. During the private experience, we interacted with the alpacas and fed them their breakfast, our session was at 10am. We really enjoyed the stories the owners told us about the alpacas and the farm. I really loved the experience as it was just for our group and we throughly enjoyed it, I didn't have to worry about crowds and I wasn't rushed. Can't wait to see the alpacas again the next time we are in the area.
