The staff is always on their game, and they always have a smile on their faces. The quality of their products are always top notch. Best part....it is affordable compared to most family activities. It's amazing to think about how this goat farm is just outside the perimeter and in close proximity to the airport, as evidenced by the numerous jets zooming by overhead. Farmer Mary is passionate about her gang of genial goats and the delightful cheeses that they produce at this family-owned establishment. Plus she's a super nice lady in general and happy to talk about farming, cheesemaking, and nature. You can't just drive up to the farm and buy cheese, but they're sold at markets such as the Freedom Farmers Market and are a favorite of many chefs at popular Atlanta restaurants. Debbi is an open, warm and informed host who gladly answers questions about her alpaca family, which she is passionate about. Although I did not have an appointment, which is advisable, and called from the farm's driveway, Debbi kindly drove over from her nearby home and spent an hour with me chitchatting about all things alpaca. For you alpaca enthusiasts, the Merrills also operate a small gift shop with items incorporating alpaca fleece, including yarn from their own animals (how often do you get to meet and learn the name and story of the creature whose body produced the material for the socks you are about to knit?), hats, sweaters, socks and stuffed animals. If it can be made with alpaca fleece or has a picture of an alpaca on it, Debbi probably has it in stock. If you thrill to the idea of hearing alpacas hum in close proximity, stop by and check out the alpacas and kitties and ducks and geese. Debbi and Hank will doubtless put out their welcome mat.

Each year we try to go to a different pumpkin patch with the kids. This year we tried Pettit Creek…read moreFarms. While it was about 30 min from our home, it was easy to get to. However, as we pulled in to the farm we got a little worried because the area surrounding the farm were a little unkempt. But we continued on. There was plenty of parking. We paid our entrance fee and began to look around. The kids saw several things they wanted to do, but alas there was an extra charge. The treetop experience was $50+ a person, the swing ride was $5 a person, feeding the giraffe was $5 a person, riding a camel was $5 a person, etc. needless to say we did do the extras except the camel ride for the older two kids. Concessions were available and fairly reasonably priced. Fortunately the "hay" tractor ride was good with stops to see the camels, pigs and goats, and zebras (of course food to feed the animals was extra). Overall we had a good time, but I was not a fan of all the hidden extra costs. We did buy a few small pumpkins and gourds. If you visit plan to take plenty of cash with you. Would I recommend this place? Maybe. The exotic animals were cool but I think other farms do a better job of creating that "fall pumpkin patch" feel.

The trial/intro class is only held on Saturdays at a specific time. This class was at 10:45am-11:15am. The workouts are all modified initially, which I didn't care for but I understand why they're modified on the first class. The instructor was friendly and really helped us get an understanding of what Pilates is like. The membership is PRICEY!! However, they do offer discounts to military, students, nurses, and teachers. Unlimited plan for the West Cobb location is $199/month. The other plan is $159/2 days per week or $29 per session if you don't want a membership. There is also an enrollment fee of $59. This can easily add up. Overall, I really liked it. I would join but I'm currently already in another gym membership and can't add another cost right now. I would look into in the future though.

I booked a trial class and loved it. Then purchased a one class credit, never got into the class…read more(was waitlisted even though I booked a week out), and then my credit disappeared. Then I received a unknown charge on my credit card that I never authorized. Horrible app for booking, hard to get in touch, huge wailists (they continue to sell memberships), and unknown charges. There are other pilates studios that are much better in the area and easier to get into.
