My company participated on Sunday morning. We spent about two hours digging up sand and pouring in buckets and we passed it down through our staggered line back to the land. There is the large pond side and keiki pond. Keiki side is good for land work, such as weed pulling and much more shallow for keiki to stand in. They also provide gloves and high quality tubbie shoes. The shoes help u walk better on the sand/mud in the pond. We had over 100 of us employees with alongside our ohana and friends and we accomplished a lot according to the staff there. Not to mention, every third Saturday they are open for volunteers! You can also book a field trip for schools to attend and give back to the community. Be careful when walking in the adult side...the mud was soft on some parts and you can end up in your knees in mud. Be safe, hydrate and walk while in the ponds. If there are large sink areas in the pond, the staff must be notified and they will put a large pole to identify of the unsafe areas. Fisheries help our ecosystem so fish can grow big and supply the nutrients from the selenity of the water. Kids will also have an art lesson to do while they help serve. TO avoid harmful chemicals in the waters, please listen and only apply sun block to face. Avoid arms and legs if you are going to be going into the pond. Parking is in front and there is no sign so if you use the address from Yelp, it's legit in directing the correct turn to make.

This is such a cute little store located in North Shore! I have been looking for a refill station…read morefor soaps, laundry detergents, and cleaners, and this place caught my eye! Upon walking in, we loved how airy and bright the store felt, and it smelled wonderful, too! To the right, we saw rows of jugs of soaps, detergents, and cleaners, along with a variety of reusable, eco-friendly products! Whether you're looking for reusable straws, sandwich bags, utensils, or wipes, you're in the right place! One thing that made me so nervous about the refill stations was that I didn't know how to bring a jug and refill- sounds silly, right? Well, you can bring a jar/jug/canister, whatever you want (or if you forget yours, you can always purchase one, or get a free one in their "free canisters" box). You next pick up a little token and place your container on the scale. Once the scale picks up the weight, tap the token on the area where it says "tap here," and that's it! Then just fill it with whatever you need, however much you need, bring the token to the front, and check out! All in all, we'll be back again to get more soaps when we're out!

I love the vibe of the store and certainly purchased a number of items to support the foundation. The staff is laidback and helpful. We weren't necessarily looking for anything but grateful we found it!

Helping Hands was so much closer to where we live compared to Salvation Army or Goodwill. I like that Helping Hands is truly a nonprofit organization because they don't sell your donated goods to the people who need them. People can come get the goods for free at helping hands. Staff were always very friendly and helpful with unloading my car. They are also very good about giving me the tax write off forms. (Salvation Army has you go to a website to get tax form and I couldn't even create an account successfully on the website. Kept getting error message.) Helping hands drop off times are Monday to Friday from 11 AM to 2 PM so the drop off window is pretty limited.

I always refer my clients there to get free household goods such as bedding, pots and pans, dishes, etc. I always drop off my donations there. Every Christmas - they have Adopt A Family and I love seeing our clients get items they wouldn't be able to get for their family since it is so expensive living here in Hawaii. They also have the Ready To Learn program which gives students school supplies for the upcoming year. They have other programs so please donate any household items or give a monetary donation if you are able! Thank you Helping Hands Hawaii!
