This school is a dictatorship. Left here years ago but I still get ptsd from this building. So…read morehere's a few things they wouldn't want you to know "No bullying tolerance" absolute bs, if you report bullying they'll roll their eyes at you, do some investigation that they're not arsed about. Then blame you for getting bullied. Whilst other schools have something called "isolation" Woodchurch calls it "work room" and "rehab" nothing too different from the typical isolation room in any other school. In fact there's people who would rather be there than in lesson. For the most part teachers are so rude, you can be so kind and they'll tell you where to shove it. The amount of times Liverpool echo has covered this school is impressive. The biggest scandal they've been in which they continually try to brush under the rug is making students eat lunch outside during a hurricane and locking the doors so students can't go the toilets during lunch either (they have a tendency to lock toilets all day) FYI. They used covid and vandalising as an excuse for both of these. You can't find google reviews for this school anymore because of the accusations of SA and grooming from the teachers. Which they would claim as false until you realise a teacher there has been arrested for grooming a student. (It's always the science and history teachers funny enough) You are not allowed to bring in your own coat, you have to buy the Woodchurch branded ones which a lot of people tend to think is optional going here. It's not. If you bring in your own coat it's taken off you immediately. The excuse for this is bullying. Trust the response from parents having their kids finish in this school is always "I should've sent you to another school" so don't bother wasting your time.

The last year I was in this school I was suffering with depression and every time I went to my head of year he shut me down and told me to get over it. It was to the point I was sobbing to my dad to not let me go back. The school is absolutely atrocious and shouldn't even be open. If you don't have mental health problems when you start, you will by the time you finish. This school made me transfer to a much better school (st Mary's Catholic college) who actually help their students. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS TO WOODCHURCH HIGH SCHOOL it will kill them mentally.

During my time there, I literally studied till I dropped! By word of mouth, I heard that I was attending one of the top Schools in Liverpool, so I had to brace myself for the amount of home work and extra activities I was involved in. This did put me under a lot of pressure as stress levels were inevitibly high during those years. However, if it had not been for St. Eddie's (as some call it), I would probably not have achieved my full potential. The School is located in quite a peaceful surrounding and when you enter the site, it has this classic School look about it with long corridors, a huge playing field and even a swimming pool (which was a bonus). The 6th Form building is pleasantly decorated in a building of heritage that the School has preserved. Its interior walls are painted in lovely pink too! Each classroom in the Upper School fits an average of 20 pupils and they have a wide range of facilites to benefit from, throughout the institution. There are also a couple of common rooms where you can eat and chat to friends in a controlled environment. If you are a parent and have a child or you are of the post-16 criteria, look no further than St. Edward's College.

I studied A levels in Media, English lang/lit, and Theatre Studies, thoroughly enjoyed all three subjects and ended up with good results and a ticket to university from this place! It was such a change from the traditional teaching methods through independent education, and it brought to me an environment that made me want to learn. The staff were all fantastic and there are such a wide range of subjects that there's literally something for everyone! The refectory area was also good, serving really decent meals at quite a cheap rate, even cheaper if you qualified for free dinners! The EMA policy encouraged people to attend and I think the whole educational set up is a merit to the UK's education system!

Its full of hands on activities, drawing, painting, model making, stories, songs and dress up. Best of all its completely free. My children (aged 4 and 8) regularly choose Big Art as a choice of a day out during half terms and weekends and as a parent it is just lovely to be able to spend a couple of quiet hours simple playing with the kids away from the normal domestic distractions.
