It's a beautiful church with beautiful parishioners. You can feel Gods presence alone or during a mass.

It's inspiring to see a church that remains faithful to the gospel and encourages its congregation to live and love like Jesus. I have been deeply and meaningfully encouraged by each service I attend. The pastors are anointed to deliver the freedom that only comes through Christ, and they humbly encourage personal insight into how God wants to speak to you as an individual. Attend if you are ready to be challenged to put your cares at the feet of Jesus and let him minister to your soul. The music is world class. These musicians aren't simply "song leaders", they exude an attitude of worship and joy that invites a connection with a Holy God that is intimate, and it prepares your heart to listen. Be still, and rest.

I did some digging and their core values and beliefs don't seem to align with the Word. The pastor was just mumbling and he was just saying a whole lot of nothing. The sermons seem to be very surface-level literally just repeating what the Bible says word for word, without an in-depth intellectual analysis of the Word.

I have always considered myself a believer and thought that was good enough, but I was so wrong. I…read moreconsidered myself a Christian, but I was not a Christian. I used to despise goody-goody Christians and wanted to stay as far away as possible. I wanted nothing to do with Churches because I thought they were evil and hypocritical. What I did not realize is that my heart was not open and I was the hypocrite. I was ignorant and did not know that a Christian should not judge or hate its neighbor. I did not read the Bible for myself in order to understand it myself, but figured what I got from church the 1x per yr I attended was good enough. That I did my part. Wrong! I never understood why my life was so empty and why I never felt satisfied. All the money, and all the designer clothes, and all the fancy dinners, trips, etc., felt good for that second, but when I got back to reality, my life was cold, empty, without purpose, and lonely. No matter what I had or how much I had, I wanted more and more because I thought that would make me happy. I was never happy. I was dragging my sins behind me and felt like I wanted to give up on life. It's been a while since I stepped foot into a church and it's not until 3 weeks ago that I became hungry for the word of God. I knew that I wanted and needed more. In order to receive all the blessings of what God is trying to tell us, we must open our hearts and accept him, otherwise what is the point? I decided to attend Moody Church one Sunday morning and I have to say that I was blown away. The message was strong, honest, and to the point. I felt as if the message was directed specifically for me. God, was speaking directly to me and told me to open my eyes because it was time. My perception completely changed the minute I open the Bible and started reading The New Testament. "Matthew" Everyone is welcomed here and no one will feel out of place. Parking is a little tricky, so if you do not arrive early, you will have to search around a bit. May God bless Pastor Erwin Lutzer and his family, in the name of our Lord Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

This was my first visit to Fourth Presbyterian. This is a beautiful OLD church with a beautiful NEW addition to the rear of the old section. The old section includes the sanctuary and many of the functions normally associated with a church. The newer section includes a number of meeting rooms, a chapel, a day care center and other services. Fourth Presbyterian has been part of downtown Chicago since the 1870's or 80's. It is a warm welcoming community.

It was our first time attending an Andrew Bird show and our first time stepping inside the church--and we were impressed by both! Believe it or not, I had never heard of Andrew Bird before the concert. It turned out to be a wonderful evening with Bird and his small band playing incredibly beautiful music. I was especially impressed by his ability to sing and play multiple instruments at the same time, particularly the violin, and do it all so brilliantly! We enjoyed every song of the evening! The opening act, solo harpist Mary Lattimore, was a delightful surprise. Not only was her harp playing mesmerizing, but she also entertained us with humorous stories. I didn't realize she could do so much with a harp, mixing her recordings live to create complex and harmonious sounds on the spot. The church itself, in Gothic style, was stunning. The acoustics and lighting were beautiful, making it the perfect venue for the concert. Since the seating was in church pews without assigned spots, tickets were sold by section. To get the best seats, we had to wait outside in the cold, but it was totally worth it. We managed to snag seats in the front row of the VIP section! My daughter mentioned that tickets usually sell out in an instant when they're released, so we felt lucky. I definitely look forward to attending again next time!
