They have been attentive to my children and flexible with our needs. My children were not the easiest and they were willing to work with us and try out different things. Here, children are taught to be be kind to each other, and to share, praise, uplift each other, and be accountable for solving problems. Praise, sticker charts, and time away (breaks) are used to help children learn skills or reflect on their behaviors. Children have access to the giant yard, which allows for outdoor classes, picnics, and learning about nature. I liked how the area was also mostly shaded. There are many different toys, sensory items, and games available for children to engage with daily. I am always greeted warmly by staff and can see that they truly love children and adore them as if they were their own. They capture precious photos to share with parents. I can easily communicate by phone, text, email, or through the ProCare app and receive a quick response. I have visited many sites and decided on this one because the facilities felt comfortable, modern, clean, and spacious. Their tuition is also reasonable for the area. Parking is steps to the classroom and is always available making it convenient and safe. The preschool is located inside next to a church away from any main roads and is gated. My family will miss the CAPS team very much as they are truly a gem. They provide a quality program and develop children by preparing them how to socialize and operate in structured and unstructured environments.

Being on the spectrum and dealing with quite a bit of a speech delay, he had struggled for years to find a daycare or pre-school that was the right fit for him. When we did the initial tour, Ms. Rachel and Ms. Laura exuded so much warmth that we immediately felt welcome within the CAPS community. We were so hopeful, but still a little anxious about our son fitting in, so we started with 2 days a week. He immediately took to Ms Nansi in the T-K Tigers classroom. She embraced him with so much love and patience and built that trust with him very early on. He also built a wonderful relationship with his other teacher Ms Emma who was often the one to provide us with his report during pickup. From the first week on, we knew he was in wonderful hands and he began making friends immediately. I think it speaks volumes when your child jumps out of bed with excitement to go to school. 10/10 would recommend Carter Ave!

The whole atmosphere of the school is extremely homely and teachers pay individual attention to students given the relatively smaller class sizes. This helped a ton because my son was quite young while here. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the school and will thoroughly miss it. I don't think I'd gel with the director's personality, she seems a bit picky and difficult, like for example if I had my feedback or concerns to be shared or say my kid doesn't have a good day, I would find myself likely debating with her, as she seems quite black and white but that is my feeling and my gut is usually right. Lots of indian children in this school, an observation. It is home based but they really designed it as a center. Overall, meh, for the price I found better places.

The academics at Brightstar is stellar and our son is beyond ready for Kindergarten! We feel the school's is well rounded in all areas and are excited for our daughter to start next year!

She attended every classrooms in this fantastic school. She had great time in every classroom (2/3/4 yrs classroom) and loved every teacher. The Director, Ms. Nahzie always hires the best teachers for the children. My elder daughter who is in grade 2 now also attended Discovery Years. Children does a lot of independent activities, make friends and do a lot of indoor/outdoor play. Compared to other daycare, we feel that the teachers genuinely care and love the children. We are very fortunate to find such a wonderful daycare in our neighborhood where our children had spent their most important years with great care and love.

My observations were during the tour the place is very nurturing and 'inclusive'. It feels there are many kids that are in different levels and they all get embraced wonderfully ensuring each one reaches their full potential. It didn't feel like any kid was singled out. They also do a good job in mixing the younger children with the older one's during class at times and lunch, just to give kids opportunity to work on social interaction. The school has an amazing spacious playground and they also have updates through their brightwheel app. All and all a quality place to send your kids. Even though there are specific teachers for each age group because my kids were there all day long they were able to interact with the majority of the staff, and everyone was amazing. I would get lots of updates throughout the day, especially if we had a difficult drop off. I ended up sending my older son to Toddler Town for their after school program and sent both of my kids there this summer for school/camp. Both of my children made so many friends and bonded with the staff. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a safe, caring space for their child to thrive during the day. My only note would be that they do have a smaller outdoor play area because of the location so if a large playground is important to you keep that in mind.

Very expensive in comparison to other daycares. They are a franchise so they are very well structured but lacks warmth. Talking to the teachers and staff, they are very professional but lacks sincerity. The moment I told them I'm taking my son out and gave them the 1 month notice I could tell the front staff attitude was different. Teachers are good however, but it seems like they don't get much say in how they want to teach their kids since it is a franchise.

Also, since the facility is rented from a school, it is somewhat cold when compared to other daycares/pre-schools. So, after 5 months at BH, I moved my son to Creative Beginnings in San Jose. We both LOVE it. The biggest differences: * More seasoned teachers (with no turnover) - BH has lots of turn over * Friendlier, more colorful, homey environment (more rooms/areas to explore - I think this promotes independence/confidence) - at BH they are in one room all day * MUCH nicer outdoor facility with more amenities (more bikes, more variety of play structures, more variety of activities they can do - they can paint and read too) At BH, they have to be led by a rope to the outside, the water fountain and bathrooms are outside the gates, and the activities are limited. * Good age mix - the day is spent mixed with all kids and then breaking out into smaller age ranges in classes (at BH, age ranges are too large, so young 2 year olds are mixed with older 3 year olds to the detriment of both - and there's no opportunity to learn how to be kind to/help little kids or learn from older kids) * More active learning (BH focuses primarily on passive learning, CB has a lot of physical learning activities). This is a huge difference. Also, gym and music classes are included in the fee and ALL kids participate, you don't get pulled out of your class to do it. And, interestingly, there was always somebody crying at BH for some reason or another, and a lot of hitting/biting and acting out going on. I think they are too big, too process-oriented, and too structured, and kids this age benefit more from an environment that transitions them more gently to school. Importantly for me, I also think the facility doesn't foster independence (for example, the kids can't get water or go to the bathroom on their own while playing outside! - crazy) Bright Horizons is good for passive kids with parents who find reassurance through paperwork; Creative Beginnings, on the other hand, focuses on the children and is a more nurturing environment. And last but not least, if academics are a concern, my son is 4 and already knows how to read, thanks to the work at CB. They offer it all.

At first, we did have a small concern that the number of children seemed a bit high compared to the number of teachers. However, during our meeting, the staff clearly explained that the daycare strictly follows California's teacher-to-child ratio regulations. After spending some time here and observing how experienced and capable the teachers are, we quickly felt reassured. It became clear that the team knows exactly how to manage and guide the children in a calm and structured way. One thing that really stands out is Perl's leadership. She is very hands-on and actively involved. She organizes events and is often outside observing the children while they play. If she notices any inappropriate behavior, she steps in immediately and gently corrects it in a calm, professional, and patient manner. As a parent, it is incredibly reassuring to see someone guiding the children so thoughtfully. Another detail we truly appreciate is that the director's office is intentionally located along the drop-off and pick-up walkway. Because of this, we frequently see Perl or the assistant director, Marissa, when dropping off or picking up our child. We can easily say hello, have friendly conversations, and talk about how our child is doing. At some daycares, if you ask the director about your child, they might just tell you to ask the classroom teacher. Here, that's not the case. They are approachable, engaged, and genuinely interested in the children and their families. As parents, we can sometimes be picky or have many questions about our child's experience. What we really appreciate is that the staff here always listen patiently and respectfully. They never dismiss concerns and always take the time to communicate thoughtfully with parents. That kind of openness and respect makes a huge difference and builds a lot of trust. Perl has extensive experience and shows a great deal of respect and empathy toward each family. She understands that every family has different backgrounds and situations, and she approaches each child with patience and care. Under Perl's leadership, the teachers are incredibly kind and caring with the children. Each teacher has their own style, which we really appreciate. Some are firm when needed, while still being warm and sweet with the kids. I was especially impressed when I read one teacher's profile card explaining her philosophy that every child has a different personality and should therefore be guided in different ways. That level of thoughtfulness really stood out to me. Other many teachers also show a very genuine love for the children and treats them almost like their own. The outdoor play area is also fantastic. In the afternoon, it naturally gets shaded, which helps the kids stay comfortable even during warmer days. The staff are also very attentive to the weather and will bring the children indoors when it gets too hot. The daycare also does a wonderful job celebrating diversity. There are many family participation events, such as St. Patrick's Day celebrations, that reflect different cultures and backgrounds. In addition, the children participate in daily educational activities that support their development. You can really see the experience and thoughtful structure behind their curriculum. In addition, the daycare offers extra activity classes such as dancing, soccer, and baseball. These are wonderful programs that give the children opportunities to stay active, explore different interests, and simply have fun while learning new skills. They also offer a monthly "Parent Night" on Friday evenings. For a small additional fee, they care for the kids until around 10 PM, giving parents a little breathing room. The kids enjoy movie nights and fun group activities organized by the teachers, and our daughter always comes home excited after these evenings. We feel very lucky to have found this daycare. If we have a second child, we would absolutely choose to bring them here again without hesitation. For parents who may still be deciding where to send their child, I completely understand how difficult that decision can be. Choosing a daycare is one of the most important choices for your family. I hope this review helps ease some of that hesitation. From our experience, this is a place where your child will be cared for, guided, and loved--and you can feel confident in your decision.

All the teachers--not just our daughter's--are so gentle and caring. It means so much that they all greet her by name and even come out of their rooms to say goodbye. The facilities are clean, and we love how much time the kids get to spend in the big outdoor play area. All the kids seem happy and well cared for. The administration is also top-notch. When we had a paperwork issue initially, the director went above and beyond for over a month to get it resolved, providing regular updates along the way (thank you Ms. Pearl!) It's clear they truly care about the kids and their families.
