I just have to write a recommendation for Almaden Country Day Schoo!. We have been there for 2…read moreyears and have had a GREAT experience. They came highly recommended and I was obviously looking for a school with academics as a priority. Math and Language Arts are THE integral part of the school day. I feel confident my child will be more than ready for the most prestigious high schools. One hundred percent of this year's graduating 8th graders applying to private high schools were accepted I just heard. Wow. The hands on Science program and "Maker's Space"(which teaches children coding, robotics, 3D printing, electronics, etc.) are both phenomenal and I cannot say enough about their Art, Music, P.E., Theater, Foreign Language and Library programs. The difference however, with ACDS is its focus on each child. The moment I enrolled I knew I was entering my child into knowledgeable hands under caring and dedicated teachers that would encourage his gifts as well as continuing with academic rigor. Whether it be their after school sports or enrichment programs as well as the over 40 electives in middle school, he would find "his" path. Since that day, my child has broadened both in his academic knowledge and most importantly, his self confidence. He is an 4th grader and loves his school! The tenured teachers, under an exceptional Head of School, encourage self exploration and provide the opportunity for each child individually to find their path while still adhering to curriculum. No school is perfect and I am totally aware...but they ask. In a yearly survey we are asked, How are things? How can we do better? Does your child feel challenged and accepted? Do you feel a part of your child's education and development? Do you and your child feel a part of the community? (Along with much more!) Its other accolade is their TLC program which is one of the only specialized programs of its kind in the Bay Area. It provides 4:1 ratio for children who need small group education (within perimeters) in Math, Language Arts and Social Studies while integrating for other studies into the larger classroom experience in preparation for high school. It is a supportive environment with specially trained teachers that allows children to feel confident in their learning. My child has benefitted tremendously from this program while still feeling accepted within the larger program. ACDS has intentionally planned for seamless transitions within children's daily routines. I encourage anyone interested to go to their website or an open house and see for yourself. I encourage you to talk to other parents! Several! Or even the kids (whom by the way give the open house tours.). Your school choice is a big decision I know. I was there. The more information the better so you can make the decision what is right for your child and your family. ACDS was the right choice for mine.

The curriculum design is outstanding. The school places a strong emphasis on core academics and genuine teaching. As a parent, it was incredibly reassuring to see a school dedicated strictly to academic excellence and traditional core values, without being distracted by the non-academic social and gender topics that are increasingly prevalent in public schools today. It gave me great peace of mind. I also have to mention how beautiful the campus itself is. The building features gorgeous high ceilings and real wood floors. Unlike so many modern schools that can feel sterile and lifeless--almost like a hospital or an office building--Stratford has a warm, welcoming, and truly premium environment. It genuinely feels like a luxury, top-tier private school. My daughter needed some extra support in math, and her 5th-grade teacher, Ms. Hannah, was a blessing. She was incredibly patient and took the time to help my daughter step-by-step, not just in math but across all subjects. Because of this, my daughter felt comfortable, confident, and loved learning in her class. She also made great friends and got along wonderfully with her classmates. The administration and staff are phenomenal. When we had to make a very last-minute transition to Stratford in 2025 after the school year had already started, Ms. Andrea from the admin team quickly and efficiently handled our enrollment, making a stressful situation so much easier. We also had wonderful experiences with other amazing teachers, like Ms. Ashley and Ms. Patricia. A special shoutout to Stratford's unique Music Class! The music program is fantastic, and the music teacher is exceptional. Our whole family, especially my husband and my mother-in-law absolutely loved the winter and spring programs the school put together. I firmly believe music education is vital at any age, and as a parent, I am so grateful that Stratford is willing to invest so much in the arts. I also want to highlight the school's special after-school Chinese club. My daughter and her classmates had so much fun learning there! It is a wonderful and unique program that you simply won't find at any other school in Morgan Hill. Finally, I want to specifically commend the principal, Ms. Violet. Her management style and the way she leads the school gave me so much confidence. I felt completely secure having my child here. My only regret is that we didn't move her to this school sooner! I highly, highly recommend Stratford Morgan Hill!

They were well-prepared for kindergarten. Both started reading at 3 years old. The teachers are great. The kids love them and we love them too. If you want an environment that your kids can learn and grow, this is it. The only thing they don't offer that most daycare do is lunch. I mean they have choicelunch which you can pay extra for but my daughter prefers homelunch. They do provide 2 snacks a day. I highly recommend this school!

The teachers care deeply about their students and go above and beyond to support them both academically and personally. They attended for one year, and unfortunately, I do not have anything positive to say about our experience. The school feels more like a business than a place focused on education. The teachers, as well as the principal, seem very unprofessional. There is also a lot of bullying, and the school does not seem able to handle it properly, possibly because there are around 38 students in each class, which makes supervision and dealing with conflict (which is all the time) very difficult. In addition, the school does not offer any after-school activities or programs. Kids play and eat at the parking lot. Overall, our experience was not what we expected, and I would recommend that other parents carefully research before enrolling their children

That is the worst part and with long lasting consequences. - This school is a business, their prime objective is to make money, not to teach and form human beings. - Classes are overcrowded (40 children in one class). This, unavoidably, impacts both academic and social/emotional learning. - Very few electives, with 'art' being the only legitimate one. The 'art' teachers are great (if those that we know are still with the school). - Volatile faculty/staff, very few accredited teachers stay with the school for more than 2-3 years. - I wish I could turn back time and never enroll my child in this school. I will never forgive myself.

Stratford: the most expensive way to get less education…read more Stratford operates like a corporation first and a school second. My daughter attended from age three through 4th grade. We chose to withdraw because the 5th-grade campus commute would have been unreasonable. We communicated this intention clearly and repeatedly, in person, to the principal (Preethi Chadha) and her 4th-grade teacher. Despite that, Stratford charged a 10% withdrawal fee on annual tuition, claiming notice was not submitted to the "corporate" office. At no point did anyone proactively flag this requirement, remind us, or make any effort to prevent the fee--after years of tuition and what we believed was a community relationship. The result felt less like a policy and more like a revenue mechanism. Moving to Los Gatos public schools was eye-opening: materially better support, stronger administration, and none of the "tuition-with-fees" experience. To be clear, our criticism is not of the teachers--we had several excellent educators doing their best. The issue is administrative and institutional. If you're considering Stratford, go in with clear eyes: their priorities are corporate first, families second.
