The views were absolutely beautiful, and we may have gotten a little too excited when we spotted the turkeys. The best part was sharing the day with friends we met on a cruise 24 years ago. Beautiful scenery, fascinating history, wildlife, and longtime friends... it doesn't get much better than that.

Stanley Park was nice! Parks are an ideal outing for little ones so we headed over here one late…read moremorning. We walked on the trails and saw a few creatures including fish, frogs, geese, ducks, squirrels, and chipmunks. Great spot to take the family. It was also well-maintained as I saw several workers around. There was a cool map on the ground and as a cartophile, I appreciated that. Seems like there's quite a bit to do here.

We walked over a wooden bridge and followed the gray trail through the woods next to the Westfield River. The park wasn't too crowded, and we marveled at just how beautiful and peaceful and quiet the woods were. We also saw a gorgeous meadow with half a dozen pedestal grills, just perfect for picnics and family gatherings. We also saw a small strip of sand that was actually a beach!! Somewhere along the hike, we got our lower legs and sneakers covered in prickly stickers, so be careful where you walk. Those suckers were hard to dislodge!!

This is a private Tennis and Platform Tennis (Paddle) club in a residential community. If you play…read moretennis or have an interest in paddle tennis this is the place to be. Fourteen Tennis Courts are open from early spring until late fall. Paddle is a winter sport but with it's growing popularity the courts are used all year round. In the summer months between Memorial Day and Labor Day the large pool is open and the Snuggery Grill is running with it's typical grill menu. This club is beautifully maintained and always active. There are tennis lessons and paddle lessons for the adults and kids. Mixers on the courts are planned throughout the year as well as some purely social functions for the membership. There is usually a wait list for membership but it is well worth the short waiting period.

The only good spot to see the finish was on this little platform. If the overgrown trees and shrubs were taken care of a lot more folks could have seen what was happing. The City of Springfirld wants more activities on the riverfront but, it ain't going to happen in the present state of affairs

There are ball fields and an amphitheater and a zoo and ponds and lots and lots of wooded or lawn-type space. Clean, nice people, low-key. I LOVE this park and can't wait to go back. One note - if you are meeting others in separate cars, better be really clear where you're meeting up with them because it's hard to find each other even with a park map.

We weren't exactly sure where we were to meet in the park, not being from the area so we naively thought we'd park and walk to avoid the traffic and the admission. Upon walking in we realized quickly how difficult that would be. This park is massive at almost 800 acres and has sooo much. It includes (but probably isn't limited to) - a baseball field, dog park, grills for picnics and bbqing, streams, historic houses, nature, biking, playgrounds and more. There are even hiking trails and paddle boats, though I didn't see them. The price to enter the park is $3 and $5 for out of state but because we were attending a memorial the lady was nice only charged us the $3. You could easily spend all day here on a nice day. The one thing about this park that was a problem is getting in. The front entrance line backs up quickly and it spills out into the street. The street is like 4 lanes with steady traffic, so if you're coming from the other direction making a left over the 2 lanes it gets a bit crazy. I'd think a traffic person or park personnel would help guide the traffic a bit. A better question is why isn't the back gate open? That might lessen the traffic. Beyond that though, it's nice big park with just about everything it seems, and for an OK deal.

As other reviewers wrote, the area is very no frills. My 2 complaints were 1) the bath House was not open so we used the port-a-johns. They looked like they had not been cleaned out in months. All 4 were vile. 2) there were no signs about rules of the lake. Our children were using tubes and a plastic kayak. After 3 hours of using them by the beach, we were then reprimanded for using these items in the swimming/ ropes off area. Just wish that there was a sign that informed us as to what was and not allowed. Overall, had a wonderful day.

People that work here are super friendly. Kayaking in the reservoir was awesome!!! Beautiful coves and back bays. We even saw 2 eagles and a beaver swam right in front of us!! Down side... dump station and fresh water refill were closed. We had to travel 25 minutes and pay $10 to dump! Also Warning!!!!!.....TAKE EVERYTHING WITH YOU OR LOCK IT ALL UP IF YOU LEAVE FOR THE DAY. We spent a day sightseeing and came back to all of our wood, our tablecloth, tablecloth clips..all gone. We almost left our camp chairs and table behind but luckily decided to pack them and take with us for the day. So this is a family friendly campground and during the week we had no problem but obviously some low-life thieves came for Saturday night. Put a damper on our last day of vacation. Usually people who camp are cool but you always get a couple of jerks. Just beware. So updating my review. We found the thieves. They're so stupid they had our stuff out in the open. Anyway confronted them (they said they thought we had left... Really? So you take our stuff before 7 PM and then you don't say anything when we return ....and you're right across the street ??wow!!) . Hopefully they won't steal next time! they're back at this campground

Mount Toby has a lot to offer; waterfalls, beautiful trails and caves…read more We followed the Robert Frost Trail to get to the caves. I skipped it but others went in with flashlights. It's tight quarters. Then we continued to the waterfall. It was well worth it. There is a small parking area on Reservation Rd. The park doesn't really have a street number but if you type '95' into your gps it will take you right up to a small free parking lot.
