Here they are doing crazy crap from a metal cube!

Henry and his army are amazing. It's not BS, they really are professional acrobats that do crazy shit from ropes and metal cubes. These are professionals and they do an amazing show. I have seen them many many times and my son is taking a class. They are elite!

Our daughter has done this as a week-long day camp (at Bement Summer Camp) twice now. Each year was…read moresimilar but the daily activities changed. Regardless, she LOVES this program! Plenty to challenge older / more experienced kids, but also moving at a pace the younger crowd can keep up with. Last year, her favorites were kayaking and caving. This year, raft-building and caving. She starts each day excited for a new adventure, and comes home worn out and so full of stories. The guides have all been fantastic - knowledgeable about the trails, history, and environmental topics; good at setting expectations about the day's activities and rules; and great with kids of varying abilities. Caving may be the best thing about this program. Our family hikes & paddles regularly, but caving is best done with a guide who's done the cave before and can set expectations realistically. When our daughter comes back from the caving days, her clothes are wet and filthy, she tells stories about impossibly narrow and tight passages, and she grins the whole time. It's such a great experience and has really expanded her enjoyment of our outdoor adventures. My only request is that the guides would give parents a list of where they went, complete with recommended parking and recommended routes - so we can try these things too! Well, except the caving. I'd want a guide for that!

We brought my son's 6th Grade class here for an adventure and no one left disappointed. You could…read moresee quite a few of the class were tentative as they entered the cave but once they got inside all of there faces lit up as they began to explore. Our guides were Anna and Benjamin and both were great with the kids. They told us stories and taught us all some facts about how the caves were formed, what was down there, and how they would look in the future. We explored some of the larger areas of the cave and also some of the tighter passages. It was peaceful, challenging, meditative, and fun. It's also worth noting the care Anna and Benjamin took to make sure that everyone had a pleasurable and safe experience. They were supportive to push us to get a little outside of our comfort zones but were equally supportive and attentive if someone felt they had reached their limit. It's been two days and the class is still talking about the trip. I plan to get as many of the kids and parents together to do this again some time in the near future. I do not have enough words to express the gratitude I feel for this experience.

I'm really disappointed with how my daughter's party went at Pioneer Athletics. We had an amazing…read moreexperience in 2020 at her first birthday party here, so I was excited to come back. Also my daughters had attended classes for 4 years there. But this time, it was a whole different vibe. Chris was super helpful when we were setting up , but once the party started, Taylor took over and it was a complete flip . She was talking to the kids in a tone that was scolding. It felt like they were in trouble or something. It wasn't just the kids, she was short and rude with the grown ups too. I get it, safety first, but it's a birthday party, not boot camp! When we were trying to celebrate and have some fun, Taylor was stressing about everything and we were being treated like children. Even me, the person who paid for party was not allowed to touch pizza and cake without her basically blocking my access as if it was her very own personal pizza and cake. The worst part was when my daughter was sitting on her cousin's lap for the Happy Birthday song and Taylor scolded and embarrassed telling her to get off and sit down. My daughter looks so sad in all of her photos and videos in some pictures she's even visibly crying. What really bothered me was that we were paying customers, just like the VIP party that was coming next. We had paid for our time slot, and we were still within it. But despite that, the staff kept mentioning the upcoming VIP party, making us feel like we were being pushed out the door. Our business wasn't valued! I hope Pioneer Athletics takes this feedback seriously and works on making their parties more fun and less stressful. I want my daughter to have amazing memories of her birthday, not memories of a host yelling at her. This experience was a letdown, and it's unfortunate because there were 14 other kids at her party with their parents and they could have considered having their parties there or enrolling their children. However, they shared the same concerns as I did. Here are my suggestions: I think Pioneer Athletics should consider revising their party format to allow for a more relaxed and enjoyable experience. With the current timeframe for obstacles , everything felt rushed the kids didn't get much time in the ninja portion and that was the whole point. The kids were just getting into the activities when it was time to wrap up, and it's clear the host were stressed about getting everything done on timez. If they could offer longer party slots or more flexible scheduling, I think it would make a huge difference. That way, everyone could enjoy the celebration without feeling like they're being herded through activities and out the door. It's definitely something to think about if they want to create a more positive and memorable experience for their party guests.

The party room has four tables so plenty of room to sit. The women working there helped from set-up to clean up. The parents have a good view of the kids playing while the girls who work there lead the kids around to activities and have a blast with them! It allows the parents to relax a bit while the kids have fun. Then the party moves to the party room for food/cake/presents. We opted to choose the party package without food or drinks included and brought our own instead but they have great party packages with food included as well! All the kids had fun, all the parents were impressed and I got asked quite a bit by the other parents about how they could throw a party here as well!!! Highly recommended :)

A huge disappointment. My Daughter began the summer break at Norwich with high hopes, but was told…read moreafter arrival that there would be no fishing as the lines were tangled, no archery as the targets had not arrived in the mail, and no crafts as her counselors had not reserved a space inside to do them. She was happy to hear that there would be boating but that day a storm was predicted (that did not arrive until students were being dismissed). They had the kids swim for 3 hours that day instead. They spent over 5 hours altogether within her week at camp watching others play a game she opted out of called gaga-ball outside in 90+ degree heat. She also found her counselor to be intimidating after he broke another's counselor's glasses when roughhousing (on her first day there) and also due to his cursing. When we brought these concerns to the director we were told "I encourage (your child) to bring these concerns to her counselors or to Irene ". Asking a child who feels intimidated to report this to the counselor seems extremely misguided. In short, do not expect the activities that Camp Norwich promises to be available, and if you have concerns about the counselors do not expect the director to address them or to support you or your child with them. It really was heartbreaking as it was the first group activity we'd permitted her to be part of in such a long time and she had built up excitement for so many weeks.
