We hired them to install a security alarm system in our house. After several years of use, we broke one of the door sensors. You'd think this would be something they'd fix, probably even happily, but they didn't respond to multiple calls. For several months, the system wouldn't work, because the door sensor was broken. Finally, they agreed to come out for $300. We canceled the service, and paid a cancel fee. They came and removed some, but not all of the equipment. We still have their junk in the house. Left a bad taste in our mouth, very poor service on their side. read more

I recently switched to H&CS for quarterly checks on my fire alarm system in my 4-family house in Newport, RI. 2 technicians arrived at the appointed time and conducted a review of the detectors and filed a report with the Fire Department. Sounds simple, but my earlier vendor was very irregular in their ability to fit in this 30 min process once every 3 months. I am pleased with the early performance. read more

My family has used this company since alarms used actual keys to turn off. When I bought my house it already had an alarm system so I called them to add their service. They came down and told me I needed new keypads. I paid for them and they started the service. I had a few issues over the three years they were there. I would call to have it fixed. I may or may not get a response. One item I even bought the part from Amazon to fix. I finally sell the house and they demand money. They claim a five year agreement seeing they installed the Alarm. They did not install the Alarm. In the end they took a few hundred dollars and took the keypads they did not own and the control box they did not own. The tech told me he was supposed to remove all of my wires. Even though they were my wires. In the end they left cut wires everywhere. I only agreed in order to get rid of them seeing the house was being demolished for a larger structure. I figure in the end it's better to be robbed than be robbed by the people protecting your property. Call a big company, it's safer read more

What TERRIBLE customer service! They are only interested in your monthly check and not in you. Their contract has an auto renew clause- BEWARE! They charge you for services that are not rendered. I would think that a local company would care about their reputation- but I guess not. Do not be fooled- look elsewhere! read more

I've used Home and Commercial for almost a year now for our home and they've been great! Anytime I have questions, I email Michael and he responds within minutes with either a solution or offering to come out to the house. The alarm has gone off a few times due to our own fault and they call right away and send a police officer over. My husband and I shopped security companies last year while building our home and Home and Commercial felt like the best choice between the costs to install, the service fees, and with our questions about the service. We also told them we wanted specific alarm types/features and they worked with us to get us our system. Very happy with the service so far and I'm certain it will continue. read more

Calling this company horrible would be an understatement. I've had so many problems with this company. Their sales associate ran me through the contract so fast that i was signing something i wasn't expecting. So after many calls they tell me too bad it's in the contract.This is not what I would expect out of a home security company. They only care about money and have no customer service. I have never had this much of a problem with any company before. There equipment is so over sensitive the smoke alarm will go off if you have an air purifier next to it. read more
