We got the roast beef sandwich and the peach scone. Ummm... yum? Everything was so delicious! The pastries shelf looked so good it was hard to choose but I love what we got! And the sandwiches are made on Levain bread so you know it's good. The roast beef was delicious as well. There's plenty of outdoor seating and it was such a peaceful environment right off the freeway. There's also a gorgeous huge home and gift shop that was fun to stroll through.

This is a cafe and a home goods store that features a curated selection of goods such as fine china, gourmet food, candles, cookbooks, garden supplies and much more. Everything is unique and carefully curated. I had to walk through the store twice to be able to see it all. I did end up buying an ice cream scoop, salt and pepper grinder sea salt from Italy an olive oil and a cheese knife. So many things to look at. Just amazing ....customer service is helpful and friendly. There is something for everyone here. From a bottle of $ vinegar to a $$$$ Italian china ... The food is delicious here. We ordered sandwiches, scones and coffee and enjoyed every bite at the cozy patio outside by the water feature surrounded with trees and plants. This place is cozy, trendy and beautiful. A must stop when in the area.

Wow! So glad we chose to come mattress shop here…read more We'd previously bought a mattress at Sit N Sleep in Oxnard (also good experience), but found this place to have bigger showroom. Mike (the stores namesake) helped us find 3 different mattresses. He was so efficient and immediately understood who we were as customers and catered to our needs. Check out was quick and easy with Lauren. Start to finish an excellent experience and I highly recommend.

Our family had been loyal customers of Mattress Mike's for about 20 years. Until now. We recently purchased a $3,700 Aireloom mattress after explaining very clearly what we needed. I have hip and shoulder pain that interferes with my sleep, and my husband has back pain. We were looking for a mattress that would help alleviate those problems. The mattress recommended to us turned out to be far too firm. My hip pain is now worse than it was on our old mattress. This is by far the most expensive mattress we have ever owned -- and unfortunately, also the most uncomfortable. We also discovered problems we couldn't possibly have known from lying on it briefly in the showroom: it sleeps very hot; it is extraordinarily heavy and stiff; it is difficult to put sheets on; and the top slopes downward several inches around the edges, reducing the usable sleeping surface. But here is the part I most want other customers to know: No one told us before we purchased the mattress that Mattress Mike's offers NO comfort trial, NO returns and NO exchanges. We discovered that only afterward, when we looked closely at the receipt we were handed after the purchase. Printed at the bottom was: "Unfortunately we DO NOT offer comfort or sleep trials. NO Returns or Exchanges." Had we been clearly told this before spending $3,700, it absolutely would have affected our decision to buy the mattress there. I contacted Mike soon after we realized the mattress wasn't working for us and have now spoken with him several times. His proposed solution was not a return or even an exchange for a more suitable mattress. Instead, he suggested that we purchase an approximately $1,800 Aireloom topper plus $300 bamboo sheets to make the mattress softer and cooler. So after spending $3,700 on a mattress we couldn't comfortably sleep on, the proposed remedy was to spend another $2,100 at Mattress Mike's trying to make it work. We declined. I understand that a business can establish its own policies. But an absolute NO RETURN / NO EXCHANGE / NO COMFORT TRIAL policy on something as expensive -- and as impossible to fully evaluate in a showroom -- as a mattress is something customers should be clearly told before they pay, not discover afterward on their receipt. A no return policy is NOT the industry standard; call around and you will see. After approximately 20 years as customers, we will no longer shop at Mattress Mike's. If you are considering buying a mattress here, my advice is simple: Ask about the return and exchange policy before you purchase, and get the answer in writing. I wish someone had told us.

When the kids…read morewere little years back, the original seat fabric got all stained and nasty with milk, etc. We went to an undisclosed interior design place and replaced the fabric with marine grade vinyl and thick padding. The result was horrendous. The vinyl was tucked, unprofessionally with big seams/creases at the corners, like a do it yourself job. We didn't care at the time - as long as it held up for the next 10 years, we were good. Come 2020 and that vinyl is getting annoying. Our butts stick to them, the chairs noticeably look bad relative to the rest of our furnishing, and most importantly, the kids aren't leaving have half their food on the seats. Santa Barbara Design Center has been here for a while and I stopped in randomly on the way to Home Improvement. I was introduced to Michael, a knowledgeable and personable chap. I showed him an online picture of the original chair, and that I wanted to restore the seat to its original, sleek, sculptural and refined splendor. He said no problem, provided a couple of premium quality fabric books, and we were on our way. We picked out the fabric and brought the chairs in. Michael commented "my god, who did this work?" 50% down and ten days later, chairs were done, with a message "come down and make sure you are happy." My wife and I looked, were pleased - Michael responded with "here's something that bothers me, I want you to see..." He flipped the chair over and on the bottom, the seat fabric was stapled just outside of the underside frame. You wouldn't see it normally, but from a distance or looking down from the side, you might. Immediately we thought the same thing, yeah, that's not ideal. He said it shouldn't be done like this, let me redo it for you, no charge. His upholsterer redid it, and boy those 8 chairs look great, almost better than the original! The seats came out sleek and wonderfully curved over the underlying pad. The fabric is comfortable, soft and elegant - couldn't be happier. The interior of SBDC fills a warehouse space and contains just about everything; furniture, rugs, lamps, etc. The staff were COVID compliant, and Michael was a dream to work with. He has an excellent eye for detail, is easy to work with, and is an honest broker; I wish we had more projects for him!
