I have been working for this company for about a month now and I just love it. There are many reasons why I love this company which include the staff, the clients, the hours, the availability of different shifts, and the benefits that are offered. First, I would like to say how wonderful the staff are at Home Instead. Every staff member at the company are so very friendly and helpful. When I have a question or need anything I just let one of the staff members know and they are very prompt to react and always have an answer to my questions. All the clients I have worked thus far have been very cooperative and kind. Every client I have worked with has always made me feel comfortable in their home. I work with a regular client now and this client is always telling me I am like family. Home Instead has always given me the hours I have asked for. I asked for specific hours when I was hired and the company matched me with those hours. When I needed extra hours, the staff members of Home Instead were able to give me the hours. Finally, Home Instead offers vacation, insurance and raises among other things. After working with Home Instead for a year and averaging 25 or more hours per week, a person will be eligible for vacation time. Once an employee has been with the company 60 days and the employee has a good evaluation the employee will get a raise. I want to thank the team at Home Instead Senior Care and share how great they provided care for my mother. The management in the office lead by Rob and Renee were so attentive to my needs. If there was ever a time our caregiver could not be at a shift, they were very good at communicating with me and finding a replacement caregiver for that day. She was very hesitant at first allowing a stranger to come into her home to help with various tasks. But, Holly her caregiver became very close to my mother and was quickly seen as a friend to her. This was such a great program not for only my mother, but for me as well. I was able to just be a daughter to her and enjoy spending time with my mother not having to worry about the little things she needed help with. Only really one item they could improve on. I wish they had a big van so that they could have transported my mother easier. I no transportation is not there focus but, this would have been helpful. I cannot say enough about the care Home Instead provided to my grandparents in Cookeville, TN. I had setup services with them about 3 months ago. They are very affordable, and they are always communicating with me and my family. Any changes that may occur in the care, they are always on top of it. They have a fantastic "family portal" they call that will give me the ability to monitor the care and get actual messages from the caregivers. It is a great tool in my opinion. The only constructive criticism I can give is to provide more cooking training for their employees. Most all their caregivers had great recipes...except for one employee. She was young and didn't have much experience with cooking, but I will say she was very compassionate about her care to my grandparents. Overall, this company is first rate and I would recommend them to anybody who needs help assisting family in their own home. They are simply great people! read more

We used Home Instead for my Nana last year to help with her transition from rehab to home after a fall resulting in a broken hip. From the beginning, the office staff was a huge help with offering suggestions and a flexible schedule to fit my Nana's preferences. They communicated with my family as to who was coming into the home and making Nana feel more comfortable with people coming into her home. The team of caregivers they sent were detailed oriented and on top of her care. We felt at ease knowing she had someone there to help with her transition along with her home health company. They worked great with the therapists, creating an outstanding team of care for my Nana. Highly recommend company that goes above and beyond. My Mom is 95 and still loves her independence! Her own home is where she's most comfortable. She knows where things are, can get around easily in the environment that is most familiar to her. Having someone dependable to visit and help out with those every day tasks that have become difficult gives her (and all of us who love her) a lot of peace of mind! Now I work for Home Instead doing for seniors here in TN what others are doing for my Mom in Maine. They provide an annual program for the Upper Cumberland called Be a Santa to a Senior. This program provides gifts to seniors in the community who usually wouldn't get anything for Christmas. Without it, hundreds of seniors wouldn't receive a visit or gifts during the holiday season. We are able to get our church involved from all ages to help give back to the community-- we love Be a Santa to a Senior! One thing I would like to see differently of the program is more involvement outside of the Cookeville area. This would give others a chance to become involved and possibly allow more seniors to benefit from the program. read more

Home Instead Senior Care did an excellent job of providing our family with a care plan specific to our particular needs rather than services we did not need. The Caregivers assigned were compassionate and care focused. The staff was quick to respond to our changing needs as care progressed. Another important aspect of care was the fact that their caregivers receive extensive national background checks for an extended history rather than local / county history. As in many plans of care, the best plans sometimes go "astray"; however, the management team was always there to address those issues to our satisfaction. read more
