I have no rating for this company. They do not deserve a one star rating. Called to get home care for my father and had services within a week I had services. Never did they keep the same person to care for my father which has dementia and the changes in people and days to care for him would cause disorientation and confusion. Once Covid hit our city, I noticed that the bills were going up over an extra $100 a week. They began to add extra days to my statement when we were not having or asking for the care. After a month of trying to find out why, I never received a phone call back or email. I ended up paying IN FULL, which left me a CREDIT BALANCE. ( For which I have copies of all the statements and balances). Due to the this and not being consistent with the days and care givers, I cancelled their service June, 2020. On February, 2021, I received a notice that I was being sent to collections for none payment of $271.99, first time I have EVER received a bill, statement or notification of the outstanding balance. I called the agency and was told that they had contact me by EMAIL one time. Being in collections myself for a living, this is not the way to handle an outstanding balance of a client nor how you conduct business. I was unaware of the balance due, but they were willing to put a mark on my credit and not send me a statement, bill or contact me to inform me of the outstanding balance owed. After review of all documentation, this balance was NOT owed to them and services were added when services were NOT rendered. When I contacted the agency I was told that they would contact the owner and get back with me. Well, I received in the mail April 13, 2021 a letter for a collection agency. I do not recommend this agency due to the unreliable care givers and the accounting department and to not return phone calls and again, they are not qualified to care for the elderly as they project to be. It is not a reputable business at all and especially to care for your loved ones. Please go with another company that truly care about your families and the care givers that are responsible for them in making sure they are being taking care of not only physically but financially as well. They will take you to the bank and in the meantime, they don't care about you or your family. KB read more

We needed care for my Mother while we went out of town. We met with a rep from Home Instead the week before we were to leave for 3 days. I already had reservations about using Home Instead because they basically hire most anyone who can pass a background check and a drug screen who are willing to care for elderly people. Not much experience seems to be required, and they only train them for 2 days and give them one 8 hour course That is it! The rep came and did a home visit and met my Mom and I. She made it sound like anything and everything that my Mom needed would be taken care of. She made all kinds of notes. Well, after the visit, she NEVER touched base with me. I finally called her the day before we were to leave. She seemed caught off guard and told me that she STILL had NO ONE in place to care for my Mom. In fact, it sounded like this completely fell off her radar. She promised to call me back that night, which she never did. I called her cell phone. She did not pick up. I left her a voicemail asking her to call me back. She did not. I called her the next morning canceling the home care because we had to cancel our trip due to the weather, and she STILL had no one in place. We wanted to reschedule our trip for the following weekend, and she told me that they probably would not have anyone the following weekend either. I told her that her company was completely unreliable and that we would not be using them. Don't even bother with this company. They're unreliable and for $22-$24/hr, you are getting an unqualified person with virtually zero training if you get anyone AT ALL. Home Instead seems to be short staffed. They are constantly juggling the few people they do have who are not qualified or trained enough to this type of work anyway. My advice: Use Someone Else Instead. read more
