Worst experience of a life time. The first employee of home instead senior care who was sent to help my elderly mother was a THIEF... she stole cash checks and credit cards, even a family erloom diamond ring. Police were called and long story made short. She was are rested and sent to prison. It's bad enough to be robbed by a healtH care companies employee. We find out that no background check whatsoever was done on this person. Sure they made sure she was fired. But took no responsibility at all. I would not recommend them at all. Plenty of honorable companies out there. Word of mouth works both ways. Stay away from this company. They take no responsibility for there employees. Your elderly parents deserve better. Much better. Zero stars. Would be me ten stars to the negative. Call the better bUsiness bureau. See who has no complaints. read more

Home Instead - Mind boggling no safety controls to weed out thieves - Home Health Care Near Me - West Jordan, Utah

Do not recommend this provider. Mother has Alzheimer's and they have been unable to provide care most needed for her- assistance bathing, eating, etc. All they've done is clean. She is declining quickly and we need to move to Care Facility ASAP, they are requiring a 2 week notice or they will charge on top of Care facility. Affording both is not possible for a spouse that is 80. Read the contract closely, if someone's health needs change quickly you could be stuck paying double for their care. read more

The most unprofessional company and caregivers I've ever worked with. They argued, dismissed, and didn't do a damn thing for me. The lady vacuumed and did everything else except what was on the care plan. Gave them a few chances. Not worth your money or your physical health. Mental health too!! Yikes! My wife works here and has been screwed by management who don't know what they are doing. She was double booked by the company and she is being penalized for not being in two places at once. Company promised that people would regularly work with the same people (you get the same aids every day/ week) which would help everyone be happy and help all the clients progress and live their best lives. The scheduling has destroyed all possibility for this, there has been very little consistency and the aids are being blamed for the stupidity of the office. DO NOT USE THESE SERVICES UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE!!!!! read more

This Home Instead office (owned by Dave Parke-there are other locations owned by different people I believe) provided some of the most lovely and caring people who helped keep my mother company as well as doing a variety of tasks minimizing some of my caregiver responsibilities so I could be at work. For several years (4, I think), we had caregivers/attendants who would warmly greet my mother who had been paralyzed from a severe stroke, talk about their pets or other topics my mom loved to hear about. They were like friends but with the clear professional line as well in their charting every visit what tasks had been done. Some of those tasks were light cleaning of her room, folding her laundry, washing her hair, medicine reminders, making lunch, doing range of motion and more. The only frustration we ever had was scheduling the same aides at times because they were in such demand yet my mother needed specifically trained people. However in those times, Dave and his team were amazing and I will forever be thankful for the service they provided my family but especially for the amazing people who gave my mom something to look forward to each visit. The companionship and quality of most (maybe 90%) of the employees we saw were stellar. Sure, there was a dud or two in personalities or work motivation however never once had a major complaint. I would just call the office and they would find someone else who would match us better. I also felt like they listened to my concern rather than just switch sides. If it hadn't been for Dave and his company, I wouldn't have been able to care for my mother in my own home for so many years. I'll also never forget the time I had a very important work meeting and the scheduled aide had called in sick. There weren't any other available aides I had met however Dave's own wife whom I had met once said she could come tho she isn't actually an aide. I said yes please and was delighted to see my mom smiling as she told me all the funny kid stories they had shared during her visit! I know most of us are too busy to post reviews but as a friend was mentioning needing a service like this for her family, I was quick to recommend Home Instead and realized I should take the time to write a review. read more
