We became the 36th state on October 31, 1864. In fact, Nevada became a state to ensure the re-election of President Lincoln to add to the three electoral votes. Many believe that Nevada is just known for "sin" with all the lights and glam of the strip but there's more to our little city than meets the eyes. After the gold rush in California, Nevada was considered part of the Utah Territory, then the Nevada Territory. Our state was named for the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Nevada translates to "snowy" in Spanish. It's due in part to the snowy capped Sierras surroundings our battle born state. From the beginning Nevada seems as a harsh desert. Why would anyone want to exist and live here? Actually the cultural aspects of the state are rich and diverse. Many Native Americans call Nevada their home: Paiute, Washoe, and Shoshone. The Mormons settled here. When gold and silver were discovered many boom towns emerged all over Nevada. Later gambling was introduced and boomed during the depression keeping the economy growing. Many immigrants flocked here to mine and work on the Hoover Dam. All the diverse communities made a melting pot for individuals that call Nevada their home. This store began in Reno, where they sell "all things produced and made in Nevada." The pride that comes with being "Battle Born," and from the "Silver State," runs deep with locals and tourists. The Home Means Nevada store is a fun addition to The District. They've been open about a year now and I've enjoyed browsing here several times. The store is a fun place to find a local gift. They offer plenty of Nevada shirts for all ages. They also have jewelry, home decor, bath products, a few food items like jam and tea, drinking accessories, and more. They've continued to change up what they offer a little bit since they have been open. We've purchased several shirts and a stuffed animal. The shirts have held up well. I found some fun tea as gifts too. My husband is eyeing a large Nevada wall decor item when they restock. The employees are friendly and have always offered help when we have come in. This is a good store to check out if you like local items or are searching for a unique gift! read more

Okay, I am absolutely obsessed with this location. My friend in Reno has always told me all about Home Means Nevada Company, so I'm SO excited we finally have a location here in Las Vegas, and it's at one of my favorite places to shop already... The District at Green Valley Ranch! I've already come into this store to window shop a bit, even took a few photos of items I want for Christmas hah. But I ended up buying a beautiful piece of artwork by a local artist named Abie, that also owns her own shop in the arts district. It's the Las Vegas alphabet and it's going to make such a great addition to my home office :) I just had it framed and now when it gets put up in my office, I'll take a photo of it and post it on this review because it's truly so cute! This shop is really such a great local store to shop for the holidays. They have something for everyone. They sell kids items, men's and women's. For anyone who really has a lot of NV pride, it's such a great shop. They also have some knick nacks, too. I have been following this store online for quite a few years. They started in Reno, Nevada. I was always hoping they would open a shop in Southern Nevada and my wish was granted. The store is a nice size and features so many "Nevada" creations made by true Nevada designers and artists. Great place to snag some gifts for your Nevada lover and there is so much to choose from. Lots of shirts, hoodies, yoga shirts, artwork etc. The staff is friendly and helpful and can easily assist with helping you select what you need or want. I only hope that they open another location closer to me but for now I will be sure to patronize the store in Green Valley. Easy to find at the District Mall. Wow!! This store is simply awesome! It's quite an experience and just lots of fun! Home Means Nevada Co. opened a new store location at The District inside Green Valley Ranch off of the 215/Green Valley Parkway. It's next to Bath and Body Works. Home Means Nevada Co has a store location in Reno as well. If you're unable to visit their local store, Home Means Nevada Co also has a website where you can purchase online. Home Means Nevada Co creates well-designed goods made to be worn and lasted. The company's goal strives to provide style and spirit for all of Nevada. Inside their store, its focuses purely on Nevada merchandise. You'll see a wide variety of clothing, kitchen goods, books, necklaces, and so much more! I ended up spending about an hour inside the store, looking at all of their merchandise! The store is super cute and the team members are quite friendly! After looking through their products, I ended up purchasing a Nevada Shirt and a Holiday themed story book. The price wasn't too bad either, approximately $44.00 for the shirt and book. Went shopping with my wife at the District (we were lucky to find parking) and found this great store. The gentleman that helped us was very friendly and helpful. They have a variety of gifts, most related to Nevada but others that are very unique. Several items are very reasonable priced as well. This store is so beautiful!!! It's really a must visit just to see all the unique items they have. If you're a local and proud of where you live then you're missing out in this place. Not your Las Vegas tourist memorabilia!!! But quality items that are classy. The variety is great, from shirt to home decor to masks etc etc they even have dog items!! My fiancé and I came here on our way to the parking lot from Sephora and was drawn immediately to the items they have on the window. I was on a Zoom Yelp Elite event the other night and was impressed by the presentation from the people of Home Means Nevada. Their store in the Vegas Valley is located in the wonderful District next to Green Valley Ranch Resort. They carry a number of unique t-shirts, hoodies, and long-sleeve shirts highlighting Nevada (duh!). I really like the fabric they use in their t-shirts, nice and light and seems like it won't wrinkle at all. So much better than the multitude of old t-shirts we own which are heavy and come out of the wash looking terrible. Who wants to iron a t-shirt? There are other items there that are interesting and I will come back to take a closer look. Their online store really looks fantastic and I can't wait to do some holiday shopping on it soon! What a cozy shop with great use of space. I dropped by for a Yelp! Elite grab bag and stayed to pick up a few items. I picked up a bar of hand made soap along with the Nevada alphabet. Wether you are a local, transplant, or visiting, this business has a little of everything here for you. Space is properly utilized and Duncan "the man!" was very kind to the point that he helped me walk out the items I purchased (mobility disability) and give to my wife who was waiting outside. Lady owned y'all!! It's in The District which is really cool outdoor shopping venue. But it gets 4 stars because it has really cute gifts for other folks and for yourself. I don't wear T-shirts and hats because I'm vein and I don't look good in them but if I did, I would totally have some cute little Nevada T-shirts. The cute guy at the counter is the owners husband, and was so friendly and welcoming. They have a ton of dish towels with hilarious sayings on them and a really large quantity of good quality, Nevada T-shirts, and hats. This is a great spot for gifting!! I stopped by this shop to get my nephew a souvenir from Las Vegas; he's 11 years old and very particular about his clothing so I knew a t-shirt wouldn't cut it (although this shop had a great selection of shirts, sweaters, etc). Frank assisted me and my best friend as we looked around. He was super friendly and helpful and we shared some laughs together. The shop truly has something for everyone- from practical items like bottle openers, mugs and towels to tchotchkes that are cheeky and fun. The range of prices were also exceptional; as you can find some great budget friendly options and also spend a little more if you choose. I will definitely come back on my next visit! And I found the perfect gift for my nephew- a very cool, -11-year-old-approved- coaster to keep at his desk when he games as does homework as well as a keychain (he collects them). Super cute gift shop with cute little things such as spoons with funny sayings on it to t-shirts. Prices are a little higher, but that's expected due to it's location and overhead. I would definitely stop in if I'm in the mall to see what they have next time. read more

I admit that the reason I stopped in was that I parked my car right in front of this shop, but the merchandise looked interesting. I wandered in with my two dogs and was immediately greeted by the lady working there. She was very happy to see my dogs and offered them a treat, which they will NEVER EVER turn down. The clothing looks like it is all original designs and the other merchandise will make anyone stop for at least a look. There are soaps, candles, and other personal care items as well as snacks. Because I was in the area for something else that I had to get to, I didn't have the time to really look and buy anything, but I will definitely be back to get some stuff. read more
