We arrived for a great breakfast at the outdoor cafe and then visited all the galleries and shops…read morethe rest of the morning. What an amazing venue and lovely way to spend the morning. Although we were there on a nice sunny day, this would also be a great spot to visit if the weather wasn't cooperating. I wish I had brought an extra suitcase, so much great art, items and unique and inspiring pieces.

If you're looking for more of the upscale Carmel-by-the-Sea vibe, you can find it here in spades…read more It's far enough from Zona Centro for you to avoid most of the tourist congestion but close enough to stroll over. Arresting pieces of public art come into view before you get to the entrance of this former textile factory. Too bad they've been placed rather unphotogenically in the parking lot (Photo 8). They've done an excellent job renovating the buildings and sprucing up the grounds. There are three upmarket components to this expansive complex: art galleries, retail stores, and cafes. It can make for a pleasant browsing experience should you be in the mood for it, but if not, it illustrates a rather polarizing divide between the haves and have-nots in San Miguel de Allende. If you're seriously considering a purchase here, you know which camp you're in. There's certainly enough outdoor furniture and ornate bric-a-brac here to fill your summer home. The only items Jamie W and I bought were a pair of iced coffees and an artful slice of apple pie at Geek & Coffee, a charming terrace cafe on the grounds (Photo 16), a pleasant break before we headed back to town. How interesting that this business is in the same location as "Old House" or Antigua Casa furniture…read moreat Relox 26 a in San Miguel. The owner, who was going by Gio, who is actually Giovanna Canella, who says she is the manager of Antigua Casa , as of April 2025, and if you look at the reviews for this store/shop, you will realize it is a scam and fraud and she has now listed the business as permanently closed on google maps, so you will not be able to put another bad review on this site. She has also somehow been able to list the same business online, at the same site address, and now you do not see the bad reviews when you type in Antigua Casa. Please look on Trip Advisor and Google Maps and Yelp and all of those reviews should tell you everything you need to know about this business. You do not want to go near this business. SCAM, FRAUD. Below is the review that we wrote on Yelp, Google and Trip Advisor: Please read this entire post. We hope it educates people to know you should NEVER SHOP HERE. On December 14, 2024, we went to Antigua Casa on Calle Relox in San Miguel, we were helped by Sarai Garduno, she was nice enough in the shop and told us that all of their furniture was the best quality and told us we would need to pay half of the total if we wanted to place an order. So, we placed an order. Everything in their showroom looked great, however, when we tried to inquire several times about when we would get the pieces, after waiting several months, Sarai told us that we would have to pay her the total and also, she said the company was having trouble finding the leather for the furniture. We had already waited three months and then she acted like she could not get the materials for the product we ordered. We became very suspicious, so we cancelled the order, and we were told by a manager, Giovanna Canela, that we could not cancel the order, because our order was already in production, even though Sarai had just told us that she was not able to find the leather to finish our furniture. We became even more suspicious so we looked even further online and saw many horrible reviews about the quality of their work and also about customers not getting their product, after they had paid the full amount. Also, after cancelling our order, we noticed that online, their website said permanently closed, and when we sent Sarai a message and told her, she said "Oh that is just a mistake, we are getting that corrected". That was also a lie, BECAUSE I JUST SEARCHED ONLINE, AND THE REASON THEY HAVE LISTED THEIR BUSINESS PERMANENTLY CLOSED ON GOOGLE, IS A CONSUMER CANNOT LEAVE A REVIEW IF A BUSINESS IS LISTED AS PERMANENTLY CLOSED. IT IS A FACT THAT THEY ARE STILL OPEN AND SELLING TO CONSUMERS. WE ARE PERMANENT RESIDENCE IN SAN MIGUEL AND WE WALK BY THEIR SHOP EVERYDAY. WHAT A FRAUD!! If you go online, all you have to do, if it is a mistake regarding the status of your business, you go into your business account and correct it from being closed to being open. It is that simple. The strangest thing, is the manager, Giovanna Canela, who also works for Berkshire Hathaway, when we told her we did not want the product because of how long it took to get the product and also the multitude of bad reviews, she lied again and said that those were all false reviews that other companies or competitors were putting online just to try and sabotage their company. PLEASE read the reviews on Google Maps and also Trip Advisor. REVIEWS DO NOT LIE!! Also, after Giovanna told us we could not cancel the order, which was also a lie, she sent us a WhatsApp message on April 3, 2025, saying the delivery of our furniture and the men delivering were waiting outside our gate, which she included several photos showing the delivery truck waiting outside our private gate, as if she thought she was going to force us to take the furniture, that we clearly said we did not want. We paid $2,684.46 in US dollars on December 14, 2024, which was half the total. We have an attorney working on this for us, so hopefully this does not happen to anyone else. THIS COMPANY SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS! Also, remember, people like Sarai, who try to get all of your money without you having the product, and also like Giovanna the manager, who tries to harass the customer into taking the product, are in plain sight, going about their daily lives, cheating people and acting like it is all totally normal. We will keep you posted on whether Giovanna refunds our deposit and any other circumstances we think a customer would need to know.
