This store is sister to Marshall's and T.J.Maxx with a lot extra! Instead of clothes it has tons on things for inside and outside your home! Always just love browsing this store but it always turns into purchases. Can't resist and prices are great! Lots of things to see and what great selection! I went in there yesterday to go find a pot for my plant, but I ended up walking out of there with a mirror and a chair and I was so happy Regina was the lady that checked me out and she was so kind and we were laughing the whole time and then Sandy was the one that put my mirror on hold and helps me get everything out to my car. Homegoods is where I go to find gifts, candles, baskets and pillows. This location has the best variety of quality candles with strong and long lasting scent. Many are made with soy and coconut wax so they're not emitting toxins into the air, and they last forever. I also really enjoy browsing the sale aisle at this location. I've found everything from large indoor plant pots for $7 to a large organic vegan hot cocoa for $3! I'm all about quality products but my bank account would prefer I shop Dollar Tree. The Homegoods sale aisle pleases both me and my bank account. Located in a large shopping center, there is tons of free parking available here. Next door is a great lunch spot called Mission BBQ. Across the way is a grocery store, dollar store and TJ Maxx. I often will come to Homegoods with something specific in mind and if I don't find it there i walk across the way to their sister company TJ Maxx and search there. Between the two, I generally find what I'm looking for, for a good deal. The customer service here has always been very helpful to me. They've searched the back stock for me, are super easy to work with on returns, and I often see them helping people out to their cars when needed. I've never had any issues with this location other than I don't see them having any big sales on their consistent items. I.E. I love their pillows and dream of a day when paying $25 for some organized cloth and feathers is acceptable, but as of now I cannot pay that and have yet to see an occasion where their pillows have been nicely discounted. I also don't see them changing out their big items stock too often, other than holiday themed items. Their prices are more reasonable than many home furniture and decor spots, though not far away from Target prices and way more expensive than Walmart. I would say the closest comparison would be Kirkland's, except Kirkland's has a ton of sales all the time. Still, Homegoods is my go to for home and gift needs and I do recommend this store. read more

Okay you're ready for this review? Why the one Star you will understand in a bit! Service on the floor by the employees is mostly outstanding, they work their best off. From unloading the truck, to placing the merchandise on the floor to wrapping it up at the Cashiers check out giving you their best service when they do. Don't take the TJX credit cards especially for 38.3% interest rates charges. They will push you for 10% off for the first time purchase only! In my opinion only! Selections of nice products but do shop around on certain products. Some products are higher priced than others and get less of , like some of the coffee kcups, but the popcorn & chips watch they are a great deal more than ever. The versatility of gourmet products are great and taste yummmm and change every few months with the season. Back to school, Halloween, fall, etc. Management is a different matter the GM is from the North States and is very rude especially to ladies. He will do anything to make a sale or get a credit card on his board behind the registers bc that is his bonus money before Christmas that he doesn't share with the store employees or store managers. ( the employees don't even get credit for getting those credit cards for the GM !) for any TJX store!!!! Working there for the funds they pay isn't worth it not for a great length of time. If ya need a job to get by for a few weeks or a couple months to find a great job then ok but you will work your butt off with no thank yous and hold the snacks hostage for credit cards or donations! The company has a frig in the break room that is to be filled for the employees plus water coolers on hand for the employees. But they will 'hold' snack hostage for more credit cards .... They have a monthly allowance for this FYI.... This is why I end up giving one star in the end for the store is basically for the GM the head of the Team. He is the representative for all and he gets an F for failure for not being a Leader. The leadership comes from under him, the employees, and a co management ; leaving out a few key people that cause problems behind the scenes and gossip without naming names .... Sandy on the floor is excellent.... Lauren P is awesome on the floor .... Donna in the kitchen & gourmet is awesome! ... Mekem is a great service for carry outs..... Robin is awesome and knows the products.... Rebecca is great also..... Missy..... Erin the comanager is awesome Rasha the comanager is great too Eddie the comanager is great too. Just a few great peeps off the top of my head that give the best vibes, customer service, employee loyalty, support. Shopping vs working are two different things but shopping is 3.5 stars when working is one star only. If they change managers hopefully it will get better ‍, better days maybe ahead, and their reviews will go up... many reviews came in weren't good. I was told I was getting crappy reviews when I know for a fact when I worked at BAM & ON, that I was 1 of the top 10 ten chart getting raving reviews and I still have mine from working at those days. ... I do believe they would never SHOW me those reviews or even call in there was none. Omg. You can't get one of their oversized carts through the aisles if there is another human in the store. Every inch is covered with stuff no one wants. No, seriously people will buy anything. Nothing is as infuriating as having to back up 30 feet so someone else can navigate their cart to the seasonal garbage that flows through the store. If you're lucky the line to leave is short. Otherwise plan on another half hour of jockeying through the aisles to get to checkout. read more

It's a pretty cool store. It's a great place to buy home decor items at a cheap price. I buy local as much as I can but Homegoods is great for cheap paintings and other items to decorate guest bedrooms and such. The selection is pretty good. Their check out systems is also efficient. We gave our daughter-in-law a set of curtains to either use or get store credit. Still has home goods tags on them, and in unopened packaging. My DIL was told she couldn't get store credit and was made to feel like she was stealing the curtains, even had manager/security following her around the store. She left the site, called the manager, only to learn ththe store would do a store credit, but why would she want to come back after being made to feel like a criminal when she ddidn't do anything wrong Terrible trtreatment of a family that used to love to shop at Home goods, not happening any longer. read more

I love coming to HG. Today I went with the family. We shopped- we had fun. My wife needed to use the restroom so the kids and I waited outside for her. There was a group of employees on break which is whatever. One of them began to smoke where all the outside furniture is and close enough to us where the smoke was blowing on my kids. I politely asked if she wouldn't mind smoking just a bit further. I didn't believe it was unreasonable since we are patrons standing outside of the store and with kids. Then the male employee in the crowd started making comments about how this is where they take their smoke breaks and that I could move. So I turned around said that I asked politely and there was no need for the drama. And he kept going about their right to smoke there and I told them that actually they were smoking too close to the store. If you wanna get technical about it- they were smoking there illegally. It didn't need to escalate to all that but this guy obviously loved drama. So I turned around to mind my business but still upset. Mind you they are smoking around all of the stores furniture while sitting on it lol so don't buy any furniture from there The employee kept going. So I asked him for his name and he wouldn't say. Asked me for mine and I gave it to him. Lol the guy obviously very much loved drama. They all went inside after that. A couple of minutes later the drama dude comes out with a manager and my kids and I are listening to him retell the story to the manager. My 8 year old son asks me why the guy is lying to the lady about what happened. He was telling her we approached them harassing them Mind you, he wasn't even the employee I had politely asked to smoke a little further away from the kids- he just inserted himself. So we watch the lady manager go inside and they grab a male manager. He is retelling the story with dramatic lies again. The managers then come to my kids and i trying to say they are allowed to smoke there etc. and I told them that firstly, I asked the employee politely to smoke further away. We are customers still in the store premises surrounded by their furniture. It was not an unreasonable ask nor was it asked rudely. And I told him that actually legally they can't smoke there. Lol in the end, it was stupid. There was no need for it to escalate to this but the dude had issues. Who gets mad about being politely asked not to smoke so near their kids? I have several friends who are smokers who are respectful. But more than that, they were employees and we were patrons in the patronage area. It sucks the way this went sour cause I like this store but this was uncalled for. read more

Homegoods is a great store with many different items for the home. I really love the animal section because it has so many great gifts for fur babies. The negative- horrible parking situation, really long lines and disgusting bathrooms. They have so many great deals on bedding and artwork. Furniture is average priced but you can definitely find a gift for almost anyone here. read more

Came in with green curtains my mother in law got for us to get store credit for or exchange because though it's a nice gift we wanted them in black. They did still have the tags and stickers on them, they were never used. Didn't have a receipt because she lost it. They couldn't do the credit or exchange. Ok. She lives in South Carolina so she can't drive up here. Husband ran curtains to the car (thx Hubby) and I attempted to shop but I can tell when associates are profiling and acting sketch. Forgot to mention I'm retired Assistant General Manager to a giant retail chain so I know the game. We left. That sucks because I loved your store. Check your cameras to see we walked in with the green curtains and don't assume everyone is doing the worst. Won't be back. Update: Called the store (my retired AGM soul wouldn't let this unnecessary encounter go) guess what? Manager said you can do a store credit/exchange. Now I know that you have to be careful and watch for the folks who ruin it for the rest of us. But, before you assume.. make absolute SURE you're correct. Have a nice life HomeGoods. Manager women was so rude I couldn't even believe what she was saying to me and about me to her fellow co workers standing right next to me. It's also a home store so why would she try to color a brown crayon on a chip in the gold antique mirror I just bought..... also made me carry a 200 pound mirror after I asked for help. I went into this Home Goods in Wilmington with my wonderful grandmother and our cashier was extremely rude to her. She aggressively raised her voice towards my grandmother and repeated, "Swipe the card. Swipe the card. Swipe the card." She was not friendly to us nor did she apologize for her abrasive tone. I always come here and I ALWAYS find some really cute decor and furniture for my home. Being a new homeowner this has been my go-to place. Everything from tables to flower vases. Prices here are always great but I also find great stuff on clearance all the time! I went in and I bought a picture, and then I went home to get my truck to pick it up. Then I came back to the store and they gave it to some Karen who was making a big fit in the store saying that it was on hold for her, but there was nothing on there stating that it was on hold, and none of the employees knew anything about it. They then sold OUR picture (THAT WE ALREADY PURCHASED) to the Karen. Guess what we got? A got a $10 gift card. Age discrimination because we're a young couple. read more

I absolutely love Homegoods for both the quality of things for our home and the thrill of the hunt. This mix of offerings is different every time I go, which I love. This visit we found a great assortment of soft bath and hand towels. We also stumbled upon some great heavy-duty baking pans from some great brands, including some made in the US. We grabbed new cake pans, an 8x8 pan, a lasagna/cake pan, and cookie sheets. I've been looking for high quality bakeware for a while so this was a great surprise. I also found a beautiful ceramic lamp for our bedroom, and some new water glasses for the kitchen. The total was happily quite low for everything we purchased, and will help freshen things up for the new year. read more

Don't go in the summer unless you like shopping in a hot store. . I've gone a few times in the last month and it's been terrible. A lot of customers were complaining. I left soon after getting there because it was uncomfortable but I feel sorry for employees who suffer all day. I understood the first time I went --thinking the a/c was broken and would be fixed in a day or two but I went back weeks later it was the same. They must not care about their customers, employees or making money because people aren't going to shop in a hot store. read more

They recently open a home goods in Jacksonville North Carolina I've been there twice and the customer service is just the worse the worse the managers are so dumb I preferred to drive 30 minutes to the one in Wilmington to avoid dealing with the one here in Jacksonville. they're the worst I tried to return something the purchase at home goods in Wilmington and they told me that I couldn't I asked why not and when that changed to my surprise the female manager couldn't tell me why not the manager there is just so dumb and stupid worst customer service avoid to the one in Jacksonville if you can. read more

Love the unique & fun stuff in this store, but employees are no help. The employees at this location don't seem to care and ignore customers. I was in this store recently and it had been raining all day. My sister and I kept hearing a dripping noise. Low & behold the ceiling was dripping and water was all over the floor. HomeGoods is by far my favorite home store in town. They have a beautiful supply of dishes, lamps, rugs, and anything else you could think of that your home may need. I'm moving into a new apartment in the fall and have been searching Wilmington to find the best quality items that won't take a huge toll on my bank account. I successfully found this in HomeGoods! Just like TJ Maxx, HomeGoods isn't a one-stop shop. They get new merchandise in daily, and some trips I find better things than others. Regardless, I enjoy hunting for some of my favorite brands here. They have beautiful, high-quality items, sometimes for 25-50% less what one would pay retail. If you have a long line of home shopping items to purchase on your list, HomeGoods should be the first place you check for the best deal! The only downside to HomeGoods(as with other similar stores like TJ Maxx and Ross) is that the presentation can get messy. This really doesn't bother me though. If you haven't been to HomeGoods yet, I would 100% recommend you go! I always enjoy my trips here. read more

They rather turn away then to ask (May I help you). Cashier was just simply there. Leaving the store manager looked up and down at us, but so freaking obvious. This store is very popular and always busy. They have a lot of interesting household finds. Lots of knick knacks and like all Wilmington stores, they have their share of ocean kitsch. Some things I might even want to buy! As far as larger furniture items, it's pretty much hit or miss. If you see soothing nice, buy it because it will not be there the next time your visit. But most of the bigger items are not the best in style or quality. I come here most of interesting finds in the bedding isle or dishwater. I can always find something to buy here. read more

They have so much in stock and you can tell everyone works every hard to keep that store looking great so that you can find what you are looking for and actually want to keep returning to check out the new items they constantly get in.
