I have been to many different chiropractors over the years with my lower back pain. The visits never took more than 15 minutes. In and out, see you again next week. Dr. Merati is so different. My visits last about an hour. He takes his time really understanding where the problem areas are and how to treat them. Unlike other chiropractors, when Dr. Merati sees me walk in, I don't feel like I have a money sign hanging over my head. There is no pressure to automatically book 10 more daily appointments. He genuinely cares about my well being and the pain I'm feeling. And his treatments are WONDERFUL! It's almost like a day at the spa. I've been a patient of Dr Tony (Dr. Anthony Merati) for quite a few years. I have always received the best care every time I visit. First, Dr. Tony always greets me by name and asks about my family and then he really listens to what I say is bothering me and asks questions to be sure he understands. Second, as he performs a procedure, he'll explain what the procedure is and how it will help with my pain. And he always makes sure I am as comfortable as possible during the procedure. This is not a pop-in and pop-out chiropractor! He doesn't just stretch you or aligns your spine and sends you on your way! He takes time and performs as many procedures as it takes to ease your pain. Sometimes, it make take a couple of visits, but Dr. Tony explains why it may take extra visits. He really does care about his patients. On Saturday Nov 23, 2013 I woke up w a lower back pain I'd never felt before. As the morning progressed the pain got worse and then began moving down the outside of both legs. That's when I decided I needed to see a doctor. However, it was a Saturday morning so my options were limited: 1) emergency room at a hospital where I might be seen after hours of waiting and then who knows what kind of treatment? Or 2) Try to find a chiropractor that was open and at least be seen immediately. I have never been a fan of chiropractors but at this point I had little choice! My 27 yr old son Yelped and we found Dr. Merati not only open but willing to wait for me as I didn't arrive at his office until near his closing time at noon. By then the pain was excruciating in my lower back and I could not move my left leg. (I thought at that moment that my flying days as an airline Captain were over.) Dr Merati met us at the car and had to lift me onto a wheel chair as I could not move by myself. With gentleness and patience he treated me for the next 3 hrs. I'm not going to lie, I was only able to shuffle by the time I left his office that afternoon but the pain had subsided considerably. And I was standing on my own. It has been almost 2 weeks and I have had 4 therapy sessions with Dr. Merati. And when I say WITH Dr Merati, I mean no other person but Dr Merati has treated me. His bedside manner, if you will, is just awesome! Kind, gentle and caring. He is treating me 2 more times and I expect to call in well and back to work doing what I love best; FLY....
