Service is good and employees are great, but they're obviously overworked, and understaffed

I couldn't even name the tool I needed for my drill to restore a beautiful flea-market bowl, but he stayed with me, listened to my project, and helped me find exactly what I needed. I'm so grateful for the 15 minutes he spent guiding me through. Then, in the paint department, another gentleman was just as fantastic--he quickly got me the paint samples I needed in no time. Thanks to them, I was on my way home to craft and restore my bowl! I truly appreciate their attentive, knowledgeable service. Five stars for making my hobby projects a success!

1 Star -- At This Point, It Should Be Spelled "BLOWE'S"…read more My husband and I walked into the Conway Lowe's at around 8:00 in the morning ready to buy a washer and dryer. We have always been big Lowe's fans -- or at least we USED to be. The experience started off strangely before we even made it to appliances. My husband has IBS and urgently needed the restroom. There are only two stalls in the men's bathroom, yet there were THREE gentlemen in there, and they remained in there for an unusually long time. My husband eventually had to leave because he simply couldn't wait. Then we headed over to appliances. We were specifically looking at scratch-and-dent appliances because we happen to believe there's absolutely nothing wrong with saving money where you can. We have money. We just prefer spending it on things that actually matter instead of wasting it on first-world shit when a perfectly good appliance with a scratch or dent will wash the exact same clothes. The gentleman in appliances appeared much more interested in Facebook than helping us, so I finally approached another employee and asked for assistance. His first response was: "Well, I don't work in appliances." Then he followed it up by telling us: "This is the Sanford and Son section." I'm still not entirely sure what that was supposed to mean. I'm guessing he was referring to the scratch-and-dent appliances, but regardless, it came across as incredibly condescending. Then came the giggling and laughing. Here's the thing: we weren't asking anybody for a handout. We were trying to GIVE Lowe's our money. Choosing to buy scratch-and-dent doesn't mean someone can't afford something new. Sometimes it means they've figured out that paying hundreds of extra dollars because the side of a washing machine is cosmetically perfect is ridiculous. Good customer service would have taken about 30 seconds: "I don't work in appliances, but let me find someone who does." Instead, we walked into Lowe's as longtime customers ready to purchase two appliances and walked out feeling like employees were more interested in Facebook, jokes, and judging which section we were shopping in than actually helping us. So maybe we've been spelling the name wrong all these years. Apparently there's supposed to be a B in front of it. BLOWE'S. Do better, Conway Lowe's.

Lumber One Home Center - Disgruntled Lumber 1 Home Center "Yard Boss" Ben K. bragging what he does to truckers.

Avoid them like the Plague…read more I ordered $170 of lumber to be added to a previous already paid order, and they Charged me $4,827.41 At first I thought it was a mistake, but i now realize it was deliberate and fraudulent. They refuse to credit me back, insist they have to mail a check, but won't tell me when that will happen, and its now been 6 weeks and I haven't heard a single word from Lumber 1. Multiple calls and emails have been ignored, no one has returned a single call. My credit score has dropped 50 points, and interest on $5,000 I never charged. Also, the quality of the lumber is absolute crap, poor quality, knots, holes, cracks, and just whole missing chunks, which is why its cheaper than elsewhere.

According to his Facebook posts, where he is bragging about his treatment of them. He calls truckers "full of themselves", and "lazy" for not helping him unload the truck he is being payed to unload by Lumber 1 Home Center. He is obviously oblivious to the fact that truckers are held to what the contract/paying customer wants, and they are compensated if they touch the freight. Most is no touch freight. How has this ego maniac managed to go unchecked since 2006? He has no accountability once so ever. Truckers, I would avoid this place until the problem is no longer a problem.

Then we parked curbside and waited. And waited. And waited. Never got the notice it was ready, so I went into the app to check the status and it said curbside pickup was until 6 PM. I wasn't told that when I ordered, but okay. Not the store's fault, I guess. So the next day I'm waiting on the notice that it's ready for pickup. And I'm waiting. And waiting. And waiting. I finally get a notice about midday that one item was out of stock and I'd get a refund. Okay, so back to waiting for the rest. I wait. And wait. And wait some more. And finally 24 hours after the initial order I give up and cancel. What happened to it being ready in two hours? And how does two hours become over 24?? I'm so furious. I would have just gotten them all in store if they hadn't been heavier items that we needed help loading into the car because I have a hernia and my husband had spinal fusion surgery and neither of us can lift much. I definitely would never recommend ordering pickup from this location and I'll just go to Lowe's from now on.
