This was the best and most efficient deal in my life. When you call you talk with either Eric or Greg. They explain the process, no hidden fees and the dumpster was delivered when promised (more on time then any airplane). Also the driver called when on the way. They made sure not to damage the drivway when they delivered it. Pick up, as easy. Called I talked to Greg, he said I will get a call back. I was told that it will be picked up at 3:45 and it was!!!! TAKE YOUR PICTURES RIGHT BEFORE HAUL-AWAY!! I rented a dumpster from these guys, which I only really used to clean up some home junk and lawn debris. A week later I got an invoice for almost $200 in extra charges due to weight overages and disposal of monitors. The dumpster was not even 3/4 full of yard waste, some drywall and wood, and some household stuff, NOT including any computer monitors or televisions. I even remember checking the dumpster before haul-away to see if any neighbors might have thrown stuff in it we didn't authorize. After I received the invoice I called and spoke to a very kind gentleman, thus informing me that they are only involved in the transport of the dumpsters and have no control over where or how they are disposed. So I have no idea where it could have been loaded up with extra stuff, or if they are charging me for the wrong dumpster, nor do they. So I will pay the extra charges, but I highly recommend that any future customer take pictures right before haul-away so the same problem doesn't get dropped in your lap. read more

I rented a 7 yard dumpster from Eric and the whole process was seamless. This company was the only place I could find a 7 yarder. Scheduling pickup was a very easy process as the driver was already in the area and picked up the dumpster within 10 mins of calling. All went well with drop off and pick up but three weeks later I noticed my debit card was billed another 100 plus bucks. They claim that the dumpster was a ton or so overweight at dump and had to pass on the cost to me. Of course there's no way to know having not been there at the time. They say they will send me the paper work from the drop off. OK but the dumpster was just filled with old furniture , books, clothes etc.from a house clean up. No construction debris, metals, cement etc.I paid but left feeling I have been taken. Not recommended. read more

Bonus was they charged me extra for weight when it sat in my driveway for an extra two weeks of rain. Sent them an email and only got crickets. Many other choices, don't need this one. read more

I have used Homestead about 10 times over the past eight years and the only problem I ever had was when they didn't pick up the dumpster on the scheduled day, after which I called and they came out the next morning. I have asked them to put dumpsters in some pretty tight driveways in Somerville with cars parked on both sides of the street and the driver still was able to get the dumpster in. I have trust in their abilities and for times when I can't make it out to the property on the delivery day I just leave a chalk line in the driveway where I want the back of the dumpster, call and give them the instructions, and the driver leaves it within a few inches of where I want it. read more

I called and told them that i had a steep driveway the owner Eric said if you can get a car in you can get a dumpster in when the driver got there with the dumpster he said the driveway was too steep. he would not drop the dumpster . Two week later i got a bill for the dumpster that i did not get .i called the owner Eric he hung up on me the first time and then after that when i called back he was swearing . I have been in business for 20 years and this company is the most unprofessional and sketchy company I have ever dealt with.On friday the 20 2012 there was a dusting of snow on the driveway we swept it with a broom the driver said it was to steep and they billed me for a cancellation without notice which on their website is $75 . they billed me $100. We have been working with Homestead Disposal for several years and have never had a problem. It is difficult working at different construction sites and managing all the dumpsters coming in and out, but with Homestead Disposal it is very easy. As soon as one of the dumpsters is full, we simply give them a call and set up a time for delivery. Likewise, with new projects, we call in with an address and the dumpster is there ready to go by the time we start our project. I highly recommend this company regardless of the size of your project. Most of the time you will speak with Eric who is very kind and willing to help. Not sure where the other review is coming from as we have had some tight spaces to fit dumpsters and it hasn't been a problem. read more

I have a small project going on in my home and wanted a reasonably priced dumpster for 2-3 weeks. After calling about 5 different companies I reached a representative, Sean Brown, and he told me I could get this dumpster for 21 days. He sent the contract to the wrong email and once I finally received the email, I questioned him about the 21 days. He said "oh you must have misunderstood me. We do not rent for more than 7 days." I called the company and asked them not to swap it out, but remove it all together. I would rather pay more to another company, than to patronizing one that lies to me. The cost for the 7 days was $410, I am paying $470 for 10 day-and know what I am receiving. This first representative, made me very leery of the next company I dealt with and will always ask for the contract upfront! read more

I rented a 15 yard dumpster and when it was dropped off I was told it could not be filled all the way. It was only allowed to be 1/4 filled. Drop off was later than scheduled; pick was done on time.
