We had a very bad experience with this company and especially with Mark the owner. One of the maids, June, was giving out our private phone number so that she could take calls while she was supposed to be cleaning our home. We noticed that she was also making several long distance calls while she was supposed to be working and we were getting charged for them. We spoke to Mark who asked us to send proof, which we did right away, because June denied that she ever made the calls. We gave Mark the phone numbers and when he called, he found out that the phone numbers belonged to relatives and friends of June. We asked for a refund, and when he called us back his exact words were, "This is NBD, no big deal." He ended up refunding our money for one cleaning, but he never paid us back for the long distance calls. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. Another maid named Yvonne complained to us that we were being unfair because we asked her to clean our fridge, which was one of the optional services we were allowed to request without any additional charge. We also received a complaint from the property manager in our building because Yvonne was throwing garbage in the hallway instead of taking it to the garbage which is right across the hall from our unit. Be very careful using this company - mistakes happen and one can be understanding in those situations. Be wary!!!! This company clearly underpays their employees! At $25 per hour, they only pay their employees minimum wage! Which may explain why most of their girls only surface clean. I had one who spent most of her time on the phone, one who missed obvious areas to clean, the last, used the hardwood floor nozzle on the carpets destroying my horse hair bristles. On one occasion she in front of me dropped an item which broke and had the nerve to say that it was probably broken before! The final straw was when I started to discover other broken items (a chipped plate, which I found hidden away in a cabinet after she left, a broken African curio from one of my trips,and a significant scratch on my newly installed hardwood floors. Shelly the office administrator is wonderful and understands customer relations, so when I explained to her the problem and sent her pictures, I naturally assumed that they would deal with their issues and compensate accordingly. Instead, I heard from her rude and obnoxious partner Mark (who I suspect is Jabba the Hut and sits on his fat lazy duffus counting the money while his girls work in servitude) who had the audacity to accuse me of causing my own damage. This is not where you want to put your trust or money. Find another company fast!!! read more

I remember a few years ago when I was looking for a housecleaning service and I stumbled upon Homestead Maid . I gave them a call , they sent out a cleaning lady and from then on I've been using their services . I've been very satisfied with the work provided and what I like best is how much they care about customer satisfaction . Last week their supervisor came over to check the work done at my house . I'm impressed that they're willing to pay a supervisor in order to ensure their high standards . They have a slogan that says " I clean your home as if I lived there too " and I feel that's true . Recently I decided to have a regular every two week service so now I get the same person each time and I'm happier than ever . Years ago. I dealt with a service that always sent a different girl twice a month and i was not comfortable as I was at work so I switched to Homestead. I used to deal with the owner, Mark and lately it is Shelley who deals with the customers. She is very nice and accomodates me whenever I have to skip a regular cleaning or send a message to the cleaning girl via the office. If I have a specific job for the girl to do, such as cleaning out my pantry, then I call Shelley and when i come home, I see that the job is done. I really hate to clean so it is nice to be able to depend on Homestead. I was told by my friend who also uses Homestead that they have a quality control employee who sometimes checks in on a cleaning girl. I like the idea of that. read more

I just had to write a review here because the service I get every time I call Homestead is great... they always listen to what it is that I need and send me the right person for the job. A couple times I had some minor feedback but they took care of it really professionally. I love how they tidy up a bit too (I don't leave a huge mess or anything! But it's just nice to have things placed nicely on my dresser instead of the haphazard way I left it!). I used to have them every other week and I think I'm going to go back to that because I think the price is reasonable and so worth it to come home every 2 weeks to a sparkling house. We live in an old home with 3 floors, lots of carpets, lots of mirrors, a visiting dog, and 2 teenagers and their friends (who are now young adults). Usually our place is pretty cluttered and dust bunnies can easily grow into elephants! Homestead Maid has been our consistent service and they've done a fine job of tidying, dusting, vacuuming and cleaning for us for over 10 years.
