New homesteader intrepid 8.5x28 enclosed trailer purchase. Never again will i ever purchase a homesteader trailer. Let me be clear salesman was top notch walked me through the process and explained all the upgrades I wanted in detail. Waited a couple months for the trailer to be delivered. Picked up trailer in the rain . Witch covered up a lot of defects. Ordered trailer with several upgrades as follows. Exit side door so misaligned water floods step well. Paid extra for d-rings that were not even secured to metal plates under floor correctly (some of the bolts not screwed through the plates). Which is a safety issue. Found those by accident as I was going to treat the bottom floor with wood preservative. This trailer is rusted down underneath. Such as raw metal no coating at all frame rust. And remember this is a brand new Ordered trailer. In to this thing 14 Thousand bucks. To say am sick is a understatement. I would never ever buy their product again. I feel a trailer from China would be better constructed than anything they make. They claim they are veteran owned. Seems the owner or owners have forgotten what American quality is known for. I would get rid of this trailer if I wouldn't loos my butt on depreciation. read more

I have pulled a 7x16 V-nose around for several days and it rides true! Fit and finish is OK and they had lots of options.

If I could give a negative star review, I definitely would! I wanted to make everyone aware to steer clear of Homesteader trailers. A 3 year old trailer shouldn't have issues like this! If I could give a negative star review, I definitely would! 11/2018 we purchased our new Homesteader Stallion horse trailer from Williams Trailer in Maine. We were assured that it was big enough to accommodate 2 drafts. Come to find out the max cargo weight is 3,161 lbs (Star is 2,000). ‍ Keep reading... it gets better. Last Summer I noticed some corrosion around the bolts & edges of the man doors. I checked the other doors & they were all similar, but the dressing room door was the worst because the damage was hiding behind the factory installed brush box. I called the dealer that I purchased it from & they informed me that the corrosion wasn't an issue because it has a steel frame. I told them that I was very concerned since it's less than 3 years old. They gave me the contact info for their rep at Homesteader trailers. I left message & received a return call on 10/22. Avery Morgan of Homesteader said that it was out of warranty since there is only a 1 year warranty on doors. He said that he would be willing to supply the materials to fix the issue, but I would be responsible for the labor. Also, that I'd need to bring it to a local dealer for an inspection & photos. Which I did on 12/10 & was informed that the windows were defective & were leaking from the outside into the inside of the door. The recommendation was to have new man doors ordered. 12/24 I emailed Avery of Homesteader the findings & the photos & requested the 3 man doors. No response. I assumed they were on holiday break, so I resent on 1/7 asking for confirmation that it was received. No response. 1/13 I sent a separate email to him asking for him to confirm that he received my emails. I also cc'd the email to the President of the company. It didn't take him long to respond then. Avery stated that the trailer was out of warranty & that was that. I responded reminding him of his promise & told him that I've discovered others that have had the same issue with their trailers. His response was that he will only deal with the local dealer. I had the dealer email him in order to make the request, per his instructions. His response was once again that it's out of warranty & they can't get them to me anyway due to the supply chain issue. I responded to Avery to remind him once again of his promise to me & that this was unacceptable. I told him that I would be contacting our lawyer, filing a BBB complaint & spreading the word about the poor quality of the trailers & lack of customer service. worst experience I ever encountered. worst craftsmanship I ever seen. any good reviews are apparently falsified or was made by someone that didn't make mine. They should be ashamed for selling this crap. welds are more like tacks and poorly made welds. Poor penetration and barely holding. wrinkles in walls and daylight between walls and the outside elements. I had to redo most everything. Obv they do know what a square is. Pitiful! read more

I purchased a custom Homesteader Champion gooseneck trailer from theJ and T Trailers in Lebanon, KY. I had to wait almost 3 months to get it. When we picked it up, it was raining like crazy so we could not check it out thoroughly. We got it home and it was missing screws on the outside and screws from both hinges that let the back door down. I called and emailed them. They said they would get the screws to me. That was two moths ago. Still no screws or return phone calls. They were great to buy from, but do not expect anything after the sale! Homesteader was no better. I called them directly and was told that they would send them. No screws yet!! Homesteader and their dealer sell you the trailers but do not count on any service after they get their money!! read more

Just to give an update, I sold my Homesteader yesterday. I tolerated it for another year but pieces kept breaking faster than I could repair them. I got less than half of what I paid for it 3 years ago. They don't hold their value. The butt and chest bars are not sturdy or safe, I lost count of how many times I had them repaired. It's just not a good design. The final straw for me was last weekend's camping trip; one of the fenders blew off, shaved the tread off a tire and cut it wide open. It could've been a tragic accident had I not been going slow. The screws literally ripped through the aluminum fender. My horses will never step foot in a Homesteader trailer again, and I recommend yours don't either. read more

We went to buy a brand new 2021 Homesteader trailer today in Commerce City, CO, when we pulled in I said to my husband the trailers look dented but we went in anyway, found the trailer we needed and asked what about the dents and do we get a discount because of the dents, he said nope, they are all like that and we said really, he said they all come this way and no discount, in turn they lost our business and another customer standing there who was ready to buy same trailer, we both literally walked out. Homesteader trailers are junk. I paid $6000 for a 2021 7x14 cargo trailer. The roof is all dented front poor fitting of nose piece. The sheet metal is cut crooked. The fenders aren't centered over the tires. The door handle pipes are rusting already. The lock tumbler fell out. What a piece of junk. Take my word. Do not buy a homesteader Hercules. I would have given less than one star if I had that option! My husband purchased a trailer from Homesteader in April 2012. We packed it up and began a cross-country trek from Pennsylvania. The first day on I-80 W, we noticed significant damage to the trailer. It lost many screws and the flimsy fenders sustained stress cracks from the wind. the screws were stripped due to shoddy construction. Because the trailer was so new and under warranty, we assumed the company would fix the damage. At the company's direction, we acquired a repair estimate from a local RV dealer. The labor would have cost less $500. Homesteader refused to pay for local labor. Instead, they sent the parts to my husband with a $100 check. We caution anyone considering a Homesteader purchase: DO NOT TRAVEL WITH IT and don't expect the company to do the right thing if you experience defective workmanship like us. read more
