I just had my car detailed by Hometown Detailing. I was greeted by The friendliest Black Lab, named Zelda!!! I've never had it detailed before, but I had a problem. A half gallon of milk leaked all over the the front passenger floor carpet. I signed up for the $300.00 detail which was supposed to be only 3 hours. They told me upfront it would most likely take longer and cost me more money. I knew I had to get it cleaned or it would smell. So I left it. That was 900am. The owner actually took me (for free) to where I needed to go. He said he would keep me posted. But as it got later and later I called around 300pm. He said it would take a few more hours. They had to take out the passenger seat to clean the carpet and it needed to dry. I told them I would need a ride when it was done. So around 615pm they sent an UBER for me. I asked the driver how much it was going to cost, and he said it's all been taken are of!! I was shocked bc I am 71yo and on SS and don't have a lot of money to spare! So when I got back, my car was setting out front with the doors open. I looked inside and started crying....I didn't even want to get in....in fear of messing it up! It was gorgeous!! The car mats were in the trunk bc the carpet still needed to dry. I went in to pay expecting at the least $550! They knew I had $300 cash. The owner, Brian, said the guy who cleaned it only charged me $300. Shocked again!! But the carpets weren't quite dry, so they said to wait at least 3 days because the smell might come back and if it did they would most likely have to take out all the seats, pull the carpet completely out and hang it up to clean it and let it dry completely and it could take several days. IF this happened, I could set up a payment plan with them. They even gave me a bunch of booties to wear. And again said wait 3 days. On my way home, the back driver's side window wouldn't close. I called them and they googled it bc it has never happened before. I knew they closed at 700pm and apologized for bugging them. They said no bother, they wanted it fixed. I got home and they called me with something to try. The window did close but not all the way up. I said I was afraid that water would get in when it stormed overnight. They told me to come in at noon the next. I said tomorrow is Sunday! That's fine we'll be here and if it does rain in we'll clean it up. So I went in, but the window worked and nothing got wet. But at that time the sour milk smell was back. Again, they said let's give it till Wednesday the next week. They said to call them. I tell you....these guys know their XXXX!!! By Wednesday.....the smell was completely GONE!!!! I called them with the good news!! This is the reason for this LONG review!! I will never go anywhere else to have my car cleaned!! I wanted my car detailed since it had been a while. They were supposed to come to my house to do it but had issues and requested I bring it in. Which was fine as they did Uber me home and back to pick it up. Over all my experience was ok. Everyone was friendly and helpful However.... they left several spots of tree sap on the outside. I can scrape it off with a fingernail, but it still somehow got left behind. When looking at the windows, there are spots around the edges they didn't get clean. They also used Armor All on the inside. I freaking HATE that stuff. It leaves oily film everywhere and your hands end up coated. My clothes have it on them where I sat in it to drive. Had I known I would have told them not to. Sign says they use Chemical Guys products, but this is definitely armor all. As someone who uses CG when I do it myself, this is not their product. Further, they put it all over my leather seats, which is something Armor All specifically says NOT to do. As a pro detail shop they should know this. CG have a leather conditioner that should have been used. They also put it on the floor mats (weathertech) and I'm concerned I'm going to twist a knee trying to get in and out because they are slick as snot too. Inside looks nice and they got it pretty well cleaned, but I would rather they not have used anything at all over the Armor All. When I got home I wiped everything down with a towel just to pull some of it off. I can still feel it on everything though. Concerned I need to wash my seats again and just condition them myself. For the $400 I paid, I would have expected better than Armor All and definitely would not have expected tree sap to have been left behind. They did get the dog hair out and the inside is clean for the most part. 3.5 stars read more

My husband and I just had both our SUVs detailed at Hometown. What we got back at the end of the service were two very clean and happy vehicles. Mine was considerably dirtier than my husband's as I typically travel with our Lab mix. But Hometown did an excellent job of getting the dog snarf taken care of. 08/10/2024 Just saw sons truck "detailed" by a "best of Omaha" business(must've been 61 friends & fam votes)This job cost close to $500. The running boards are still dirty, the bugs are still stuck on front, the truck is not clean. TERRIBLE- REALLY TERRIBLE-SLACKY JOB DONE. We know it, The owner definitely knows it, anyone seeing it will notice nothing looking any different than a wash in your own front yard! Shame on this place, you're blatantly ripping people off- and then want to be aggressive when called out on your terrible workmanship. To pull your "this (fxxxxx) President has the economy in such a bad place" comment shows you had no legitimate excuse for the non detail you did. Politics have nothing to do with you not doing the job you were paid to do- cussing customers out doesn't help your case much either. I wish instead of just looking at your cover photo from 4 years ago, and just thumbing a few front page reviews that my family would've seen all reviews by pressing "lowest" in choices. This is not the first and I'm sure not the last of the negative experiences for customers or the negative reviews for you. Had to get my radio serial number to activate my SiriusXM and saw my part number for the radio they replaced. They replaced it with the wrong part, this is the reason my backup camera doesn't work. Booked detailing online and used Lyft because they advertised that they reimbursed ride shares. Overall detailing was pretty good except for my floor mats. Whatever chemical they used caused them to be very slippery and they did not wash them off properly. I ended up spending a few hours afterwards washing all the mats. I sent in an email for reimbursement for Lyft and still have not received anything and that was 6 months ago. STAY AWAY! FYI left this review on Google and they said they would refund me and nothing has been done. Also texted their number with no responses, will see them in small claims court soon. read more

Found Hometown via Google. They had a great deal for full detailing. Dropped car off at 8am and it was ready at 10am. They're open Saturdays which is awesome! The car was IMMACULATE. I have two kids so it gets fairly messy in the back. I will definitely take my car back here in the future. read more

Overpriced for marginal exterior cleaning. Nice people but we picked up car and wheels were super dirty. The pictures are after we asked them about it and they cleaned them while we waited. But not only did they do a great job they got about a years worth of dog hair embeded in every fiber of my car to disappear. My husband took my 2011 Acura to Hometown detailing for a birthday gift. We asked to have a touch up on the rear fender wheel. The company ordered the wrong paint and then tried to sand it off. They got running paint and sandpaper marks on the inside and outside of my car. I got and estimated to fix it and the owner Brian won't even look at it. If you love your car DONT EVER USE Hometown. Mouse did a great job on our truck! easy scheduling and paying online. i always prefer to support local as well. only thing that wasn't super clear was the pickup time but no big deal as our schedule was free that day. they are located behind the Mega Saver and the signage wasn't the best but their work definitely is! see attached pics. read more

This place is the best detail shop i have been to with very reasonable pricing. My wife's car was completely full of dog hair on seats and floor boards (which really bothers me, lol). I didn't have much hope because when i took it for an estimate at another detail shop they thought i was crazy wanting all the dog hair cleaned up. They made it sound impossible. I called Hometown Detail around 9am and they had someone picking my car up, free of charge, by 11am. When the car was returned i was completely blown away by how clean and free of dog hair it was. They exceeded my expectations by far. The owner made sure i had the $10 coupon and 10% off for being a new customer. They totally went above and beyond to make sure my wife's car looked brand new inside! I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back! Thank you so much!! read more

I called and got an appointment right away. I only asked for my seats to be shampooed and was quoted $96.00. When I got there, I showed the kid (owner?) the areas of attention. He said no problem. When I walked over to my car for pick up later that day, the engine was running. I asked how long it had been running and he said, "Just over an hour." What?! When he opened the door, a burst of hot air came out. They had the heat turned on, full blast, for that entire time. Not to mention, the outside temperature that day was 90, with 86% humidity. After that initial shock, the seats looked like they had been gone over, however the attention areas had not even been attempted. They tried to clean them with a wet rag while I stood there waiting. I would not recommend at all. Spend $25 more and go somewhere that doesn't run a questionable operation and work out of a collapsible tent. I don't know how in the world this earned a Best of Omaha for 2020! read more

Worst experience ever! I made an appointment on line for a mobile detail at my home. For starters, they were over 1.5 hours late with one excuse from an employee that another employee quit and left them short handed, then another excuse from the owner that their shop was broken into. Upon arrival, I was told that they were actually picking up my car to take it to their shop since they work on vehicles inside until the weather is in the 60s. This was not noted anywhere on their website. I had plans for the weekend, and paid in advance, so gave them my keys since I was backed into a corner. Big mistake! I had an appointment that afternoon and after being assured that my car would be delivered on time, they were still 1/2 hr. late, and guess what...my SUV wasn't even close to being done. My filthy floor mats had been removed and thrown into my trunk, every surface in my car was oily from whatever crap they sprayed on everything, there were spots all over the exterior, the inside of the door frames were still filthy, and I literally couldn't see out of my windshield due to the overspay of the oily crap they used. I immediately called the owner, who I scheduled my detail with, and he never even laid eyes on my vehicle. I told him I scheduled with him and he just said "Well, I'm busy. I don't have time to do the detail myself". Then why would your website allow me to select you as the detailer?? I asked for my money back and he said he would prefer the opportunity to correct the issues and that I shouldn't be the one upset since they had been broken into and that he was thinking of his clients by not canceling appointments. Not my issue, but I agreed reluctantly. Two days in a row they were no shows and when I reached out there were multiple excuses again. The owner then offered to have me bring my vehicle to his house "that has a lot of property" so he could use it for training and said I could sit in his house to watch his "big screen" while it was being cleaned. What a joke! I demanded a refund which the owner said he processed on April 18th. I followed up today, April 26th, and he literally just processed it and sent me the receipt after telling me he would deliver a check if I didn't receive the refund he lied about submitting a week ago within the week. Oh yeah, I also had to drive to the shop myself to get all of my drink tray liners that they removed and didn't clean or replace, and because of this I discovered that there is an open tent outside, no enclosed space, so why couldn't the detail have been done at my house in the first place? This place sucks, and the owner, Brian, is a liar. I would NEVER recommend this place. EVER. After I questioned why my refund was just processed today and not on the18th like he said, Brian stopped responding to me. Stellar! read more

My hand has been forced to write this review. I read all the reviews about hometown detail service and felt they should be good. I had them pick up my vehicle at 9:15 am from my job. I asked them to have it returned to me at 2:30 when I got off work. The owner stated that the longer they could have it the deeper they could go in detailing it. This is a brand new car with less than 200 miles on it. I was looking to get all the rail dust etc off and sealed up nice before winter. Later that day I tried contacting the detailer assigned to my vehicle. No answer. No text. Nothing. Got ahold of the owner. He tried. Still nothing. The owner was in Lincoln on business he said. So now I decided to stay for overtime. 2 hours. It's now approaching 4:30. I don't have my vehicle and I don't know if they are on their way or not. Do I need to get a ride home or what. Finally I get my father in law to pick me up and take me to their shop. I've never been there before so imagine my surprise when it's a gravel drive leading to the detail garage. They were actually finishing them in the gravel. Not what I would have imagined. We get out to inspect it and was totally shocked! It was worse than when I gave it to them. Water spots everywhere! Streaks and dirt all over too. Rubbed my finger across the rim. Black is what I came away with. Again. I was stunned. You had this for all that time and this is what you want 200 dollars for? I called the owner and said there was no way I would pay for this garbage. He was very apologetic and swore he would fix this. He would come to my house to personally do it. I was not sure I wanted him to touch it. I said you can come look at it for yourself and we can talk about it. Well he never got ahold of me. A week or so passed and he responded to an email I sent before this all went south. I responded to that with what he promised to do for me. He again said he was sorry and would assign a different person to this. Hell no! He was gonna do it himself and now push me off on another detailer. Wow! I told him that he was supposed to do it. I never heard back. So just be careful about who touches your vehicle. read more
