The deck fascia, supporting beams and headers, all needed to be repaired or replaced. After several bids from various general contractors, Jean-Claude with RHC gave the most thorough and comprehensive bid. He took the time to explain and break down the process of each scope of work. The 5 scopes of work were then priced separately allowing us to decide according to our budget and needs. Although not the cheapest bid, it was worth getting the job done right. The Ranch Hands Construction crew were competent, prompt, hard working and respectful. Obviously RHC take pride in their work, going the extra mile and paying attention to details. It was refreshing to see camaraderie and teamwork amongst their coworkers. After their initial work, we hired Ranch Hands to reroof a backyard cottage, and rebuild the railings on our front deck. Again, we were very impressed with RHC work. The jobs were all within the original estimate, and the work was completed in a timely manner. We would definitely recommend RCH for most any construction job. It's difficult to find honesty, reliability and quality work. Thank you for the help.

We recently bought a home in the San Vicente Mobile Home Park. Alas, the home was in a great…read morelocation but in what turned out to be terrible shape. It required extensive renovations. One of them was the godawful faux wood paneling from the 1970s. It was all over the home with the exception of the bathrooms and kitchen, which had equally horrendous flowered wallpaper. Dina and Christina came highly recommended so we brought them out for a look and an estimate. Dina carefully walked around while I described what I wanted done. I mentioned that I had been doing research on colors and wanted a neutral white, preferably neither warm nor cool (and not hospital white) because we have windows on all sides of the home and it would get light at various times of the day and at various angles. I wondered what she thought of Benjamin Moore's Chantilly Lace. She said BM was a great paint, and she loved that color, that she had just finished a home done in that color. She also said it would work well here, providing the neutral and definite white I wanted. She and her partner plus their employee came out every day and because we hadn't moved in (and the carpeting had been taken up to prepare for the wood flooring) were able to easily remove the kitchen cabinets and work with them. All their tasks were neatly handled, things carefully placed and the workplace cleaned up each night. There was never a sense of chaos or of a mess. (All renovation work should look this good while in progress. Still, I am glad I wasn't living there.) The first step was to have all the walls skim coated to remove the lines that simply painting over the paneling would show. They recommended someone they had worked with before and he did a fabulous job, skim coating the walls twice. Then they primed it and painted it. If you didn't know it, you would never be able to tell that there was paneling under the walls. They used matte, semi-gloss and gloss in the appropriate places. They were fast; within two weeks they were done. I am beyond happy as their price was very reasonable, they were always willing to answer questions, they wanted us to be happy with it, and they were neat, clean, never noisy, and showed up on time every single day. We are hiring them again to paint the exterior within a few months (and as soon as money allows). In the meantime, they also painted a reproduction piece of furniture I had that had been kind of gold and yellow, and it is now a glossy white that looks absolutely gorgeous in the living room.

My boyfriend and I recently purchased a hot tub and needed electrical work done. We looked on yelp…read morefor electricians in the area and came across Julius. He was available around our work schedules, which was a huge plus, and cost effective. We had him working before the arrival of our hot tub to prepare wiring and what not. We paused the work until our hot tub was closer to arriving and when contacting him to come back, he suddenly expressed difficulty finishing the job. As with any backyard designing, we were trying to figure out our layout and played around with different placements of the hot tub. Julius appeared stressed and expressed how he didn't know if he could finish the job for us because we were changing what he originally signed up for. He started self disclosing personal issues and arguing in our backyard. (Our neighbors told us a few days later how they heard the entire situation). We were both embarrassed and appalled at his behavior in our backyard. In discussing our changing plans, Julius kept making comments about how our plans were basically stupid because they weren't saving us money. His work was great, but he needs to work on his professional skills. He shared with us various other jobs he was getting, which made us feel "side-stepped" and put on the back burner because he clearly has time for other customers with larger jobs. Started out great, but ended disappointed.
