I have heard horrible things about Hometown reality. Obviously 2 out of 5 stars. One woman there impaticular evicted disabled couple who not once paid rent late. Gave them 2 months notice and 2 days before they are to leave they are told they are still supposed to pay rent until June. It takes a special kind of person to try to do such a thing. Their motto is to treat people the way you want to be treated and I experienced that every step of the way. Where to start? In the beginning, things started off just fine with our Hometown Realty realtor, William Coalson. We started out just looking around at real estate available in the area. Kind of not seriously looking. And then my mom got more serious. She found a home she really liked and he showed it to her. He did everything he was supposed to do at first. Things broke down at the time of move-in. It was one thing after another. My dad was suffering from Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, during a pandemic no less. That meant we had to be especially careful about taking precautions to keep him safe. No unnecessary exposure to others. No staying in a hotel. And yet that is exactly what William wanted us to do because he didn't make arrangements ahead of time to take care of foreseeable events. He got us into our new home AT THE LAST MINUTE, after having us drive around in our cars all day long. He also told us he was going to unload a truckload of items for us at the dump and meet us back at our new house with the rest of our household goods. He was an hour late to that meeting, sat in the car and ignored us for 15 minutes after he finally did arrive, and showed up without the household goods he packed onto the company truck after telling us he would bring them to us when he turned up at the agreed upon time. So he lied. My parents didn't get a walk-through on the new house with him. He treated my parents (the home buyers) like second class citizens, All in all, my parents were left feeling like they had no one on their side, no one to help them, and no one looking out for them - especially compared to the real estate agent for the people who bout their old house. In fact, William did more to help those people and work with that realtor then he did to help my mom and dad. I don't know what his problem was. Maybe it's his age and inexperience. Maybe he doesn't work well with older buyers. Maybe he has a lot to learn. I'd think twice before hiring him and I know I, personally, will never buy a home from this agency. read more

We too had a very bad experience with Hometown Realty. Janet Ashworth was the worse agent ever! The agent for the house we bought was just as bad as her, He too was with Hometown Realty. Later we learned he lied to us as well as Janet. If I could do it over I would have fired them at the beginning. Steve Pace was the agent for the house we bought and he gave us outdated information on the POA and per the people he got the papers from he knew it and just wanted to make a sale.....as well as Janet Ashworth. They both need to be fired as agents. Plus when we got back from settlement someone had been in the house and left a nasty mess. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE........RUN!!!! read more
