I moderated a panel last week and a panelist I was being introduced to said, "yes, the woman with the most amazing head shot." Yesterday morning we did our 5th(!) family mini session shoot with Stacey in a garden next to the Capitol. It's wonderful to get these beautiful shots of our children growing up -- and have some shots with me that I love that aren't selfies! Years ago Stacey took an iconic (among our family and friends) photo of my son sulking off to the left of the Washington monument when my husband and I were were standing to the right smiling while pregnant with our daughter. Not only were the photos fast (you're in and out in 20 minutes) but we got TONS of great shots in a variety of poses. She made the toddler in the family look like a child model and managed to make him smile a genuine smile for every shot he's in. Magic! My husband's sister lost her job due to COVID, so she's temporarily playing nanny to her cousin's toddler. There's so much about the pandemic that isn't great, but having so much family so close by for once is a small silver lining to this whole thing, and we wanted to document it by getting some family shots. Even though it was an overcast, humid day, the pictures all came out great and are cheerfully gloomy, with rich dark green backgrounds and pops of color from our outfits. We had trouble choosing our favorites! She even rolled with the punches when I brought some fans with other cousin's faces on them so they could "be" in the photo we send to Grammy and just acted like that was a fine and normal thing to bring to a shoot :).

You should be aware that the owner (Mary) is not the photographer. She has no knowledge of, or…read morecontrol over, the photographer's work. I cannot recommend this photographer. I paid $450 for professional photography for my daughter's first birthday, a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that cost over $7,000. I trusted this photographer to capture such a special occasion, but the final gallery was extremely disappointing. Many of the photos were taken from low, unflattering angles, had poor composition, or were unnecessarily repetitive. Several important moments were either missed or not captured well. What was even more disappointing was the response afterward. When I raised my concerns, the photographer claimed that the angles had been "edited to eye level." That explanation made little sense. While editing can adjust exposure, color, and cropping, it generally cannot change the original camera angle or perspective. A photo taken from a low angle cannot realistically be transformed into an eye-level shot through editing alone. The photographer also failed to avoid obvious reflections in people's eyeglasses. Can you imagine paying $450 for professional photos, only to receive images in which bright white glare obscures people's eyes and faces? Instead of acknowledging the problems or offering a reasonable solution, Mary, the owner, refused to take responsibility or provide a refund. This was my daughter's once-in-a-lifetime first birthday, and after spending over $7,000 on the celebration, I expected professional-quality photographs that would preserve those memories. Unfortunately, both the quality of the photographs and the customer service fell far below my expectations.

We hired Nataly Danilova after seeing beautiful work advertised online, expecting a high-quality, professional experience for our newborn photo session. What we got instead was a stressful and unprofessional experience with poor quality photos that did not match the advertised standard. 1. Complete Lack of Professionalism and Empathy (0/5 Stars) Instead of providing the patience and calm required for a newborn shoot, the photographer was cold, dismissive, and clearly impatient the entire time working with her, which was only more deeply felt as I still recovering and sleep deprived. When I mentioned my ongoing recovery from a second C-section, she laughingly replied that she "went dancing the next day after her C-section" (an obvious lie) which completely trivialized my situation. She repeatedly stressed that "her time is valuable," using this phrase to excuse her impatience when our baby or three year-old fussed. Furthermore, the small wardrobe she offered (after acting bothered when I asked to see it) smelled very bad, as if the items had never been washed. 2. Technical Failures and Excessive Fees We waited weeks for the photos due to the photographer taking a vacation, only to receive images with a severe technical defect. The background lights were so overly bright that the photos were completely washed out, causing the shape of our son's head and body to blend into the white backdrop. Worse, the images had clearly undergone excessive digital alteration, making them look unnatural and losing the true, candid essence of the artistic photo. The value of the real moment was lost due to this heavy digital editing (for example, parts of my fingers appeared "cut" due to poor cropping/retouching). When I politely requested she re-edit the photos to fix this clear technical failure, she again cited that "her time is valuable" and then charged an incredibly high, non-negotiable fee to fix her own poor work. We spent over $1,000 (paid in cash) for a handful of technically flawed photos and a horrible experience. We wasted significant time, emotional energy, and a large amount of money on a service that failed in every regard: technical execution, advertised quality, and basic human professionalism. Do not be fooled by the online portfolio; the actual service and resulting images are a catastrophic disappointment. Save your sanity and your wallet--avoid this photographer.
