Looking in jewelery stores up there recently, I felt very alienated by icy shopkeepers. Also, there's quite a few empty stores up there which makes me think businesses might struggle up there. Down the bottom is more lively, with a lovely tea shop, selling a large range of tea pots; jewelery stores; and bridal shops. With the exception of the cheap and nasty accessory store, Colette, at the Queen Street entrance of the arcade, the shops in here require you to have money to spend (or at least pretend you have money to spend). Best not to rock up in your Havianas--it won't help things with the already snooty shop keepers.

Its the sort of place most people probably go to look and admire rather than shop but in saying that it is home to some of Brisbane's most awarded retailers especially if you are after jewelery or bridal wear. If you are looking for a unique gift or something for the person who has everything this place is your treasure trove. I particularly love looking at all the beautiful time pieces in the Vintage watch shop and pens right next door.

Not to sound dodgy but the supply was good, quality and decent. For something that is the legal version of Marijuana it is nice to have a place that sells it legitimately. No more Chronic but now there is a range of Tai High's in its place which does the job equally well if you're into that kind of stuff. If you don't smoke in general, you will be pleased to find a wide range of items you are able to purchase for someone's hens or bucks night out, and other things that you keep in and around the bedroom for bedroom type activities. In the back for the dodgy blokes or not so dodgy blokes, there is the room that has an 'internet arcade' with dvd's and videos to take your fancy, I would tell you more, but the truth is I never made it into the room, was a bit scared and the big guy standing in the doorway really did freak me out. The lady behind the counter was really friendly and approachable and once you come down the staircase, it's really not so bad! We all need a little bit of naughty sometimes, and for that naughty there is Club X.

So, wanting to find out from a professional just what size I exactly was and get the basics right, I made an appointment at Boudoir Chic to be measured and sized. There was a lot less measurement and precision than I'd expected. I suppose when you've been fitting bras for that long you can do most of it by eye. She quickly assessed me by scanning my chest area with her eyes. She gracefully exited and came back with three bras she deemed to be my best fit and cut. "This is your size! and perfect bra cut!" she proclaims, as I try on the third and final bra, and leaves me to get ready. It was certainly informative to find out what size I am, however, the experience itself wasn't any more luxurious nor was I given any extra information over and above a similar experience on past occasions at the likes of Myer or David Jones. The measurement session itself was complimentary and you can purchase a number of exquisite bras here. I did end up buying the third bra, more out of my own silly sense of obligation, but I don't dare tell you how much it was. Let's just say it is the most expensive piece of under garment I own!

I bought my maternity bra's there when I was pregnant with my first and the ladies were very friendly and helpful. They are all trained fiitters as well, bonus! Never have to get fitted again. Not many people know this, but they have been around for over 20 years and have a Rockhampton store as well. They have nice change rooms and lingerie shop mood lighting? Is that even a term... anyway, they are legit, knowledgeable and you can even shop online and get free delivery. The ladies at this store take great care fitting you to the right size so you're not left embarassed about your body or awkward in the mirror while someone feels you up. Very professional indeed! So take them off ladies, and get comfortable! Fellas, this is also a great place to buy some super sexy lingerie for your ladies. Zing!

There's lingerie, high end hosiery, jewellery (I spied pieces by Ericson Beamon - I'm not sure anywhere else in Brisbane stocks that), bags, and of course an achingly expensive range of Little Black Dresses. When I was there they'd just received some newbies by Valentino). They only stock European designers - although one Aussie label did make the cut (Aurelio Costarella). Needless to say, the prices are not for the faint hearted. Nor for the really young and funky. The ladies who work here, although lovely, I didn't find them to particularly interested in helping any customers out. Which I suppose is fine if the customer is just browsing but for when you really need a bit of assistance for fitting etc, it can be a little slack of them. This Bras N Things in the CBD, offers quite a range of on sale items. The whole right side of the stores seems to offer most of the discounted pieces. You can stock up on some more Pj's by taken advantage of their $5 pyjama shorts, or $10 or $15 for a nightie. If you pass by, it may be worth your time looking, but not really any different to go out of your way for.
