I could have had whipped cream on it, but I had the need to feel healthy and that would ruin it. They are also accommodating if you want less pumps of syrup or if you want to mix flavors The staff were very helpful and efficient. You can order both inside or you can use the drive-thru. The staff might appear busy running around working on orders, but they are also very friendly and professional baristas Some tips: If you want a hot drink the biggest size you can order is a 20oz. If you go the iced option you can go up to a 32oz. I love coconut lattes, and I saw one signature drink had coconut. After an hour and a half immersed in the exhibits at the museum, I stopped in for a cup of coffee and met Kathy "Jesse" James, the store's owner. Her family goes back multiple generations in North Dakota... A real pioneer family. She still owns the family ranch and was a wealth of knowledge around the museum, its artifacts and exhibits and the history behind it all. What should've been a 30 minute stop for coffee, lasted for three hours, at which point she had to gently kick me out. In a world of Starbucks and uninspirational national brands permeating historic towns everywhere, James Gang Java is a real coffee shop, locally owned and filled with local history. I'd go so far as to say the history and character in the coffee shop is as impressive as the history in the museum. Kathy makes great coffee, has a colorful family story and is a no nonsense part of North Dakota history. Don't pass her by!
