After many delicious meals over years from Hong's I visited last night as a takeaway treat for myself and my parents. It had been over 2 years since my last one as having moved house. Ordered: Chicken satay starter.... It was so overcooked and dry you could have soled shoes with it nevermind get your teeth thru it! Tom Yum Chicken was tender but the Tom Yum sauce was watery and no Tom Yum taste or heat! I saw a munchy box advertised and at £16 I thought it must be good.... ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! Everything was deep fried (Looked as if they had partially cooked it even before that) THEN chucked in a wok with so much salt that none of us could eat anything! I called to complain and was advised that no one has complained about that before and that's the way they do it. No offer of replacement... No offer of refund... Service to match the food served! I have worked in restaurant management for over 20 years and this looks like reheats / pre prepped partially cooked / no fresh cooking or flavour / no proper cooking skills except how to work a fryer and apply excessive amounts of salt! For over 3 years now we have ordered from here and never had an issue. Recently however when you call your immediately put on hold for several minutes, you are then met with an abrupt and rude member of staff who can't get you off the phone quick enough as she is clearly serving other people!! Your clearly need more staff!!! If you get the local older woman she will do everything in her power to make sure you get what you want. They have changed their salt and pepper chips!! why?? If it's not broke don't fix it.. I asked for the old style one week and got it then asked the following week and was told no.. too busy.. I've called this evening and was told well over and hour for delivery...then before I finished my order she hung up with the usual 'Ok thank you bye'... this wasn't the first time we have had issues with their customer service but as the food was good we tolerated it!.. enough was enough tonight I called them back to cancel and was told 'fine bye' .. we are now trying another chinease who have actually taken the orderand delivered before I have finished writing this review.... manners cost nothing... Will never order from there again... long time customer gone due to lack of customer service ... simple... that costs nothing! read more
