I want to start off my saying everyone is super nice and welcoming. I booked a 45 minutes massage and when we got there I got checked in a waited. I got taken to the back and was told to dress to my comfort leave and she would be back shortly. So I undress and get on the table like normal. This place has no heated beds so it was chilly. About 15 minutes go by and she still didn't come back but I can hear very loud talking between her and her coworker about how breaks are supposed to go. She finally comes back in and starts the massage. She has AirPods in that are to loud and I can hear what she is listening to. So instantly unrelaxed. She then started my massage ( I asked for medium ) and got a slight petting. No real pressure whatsoever. It never really got any better, but felt like I couldn't say anything because all I could hear was her rock/pop music playing. This place is great for a cupping massage but I find the actual massages lacking. read more

This was not a massage at all. She simply rested her hands on me without applying any pressure, lightly pet my skin (which felt awkward and uncomfortable), and used only a small amount of lotion. That was the entire session. No rubbing, no techniques, and certainly nothing resembling deep tissue. I specifically requested deep tissue, yet she didn't even provide the basics of a light massage. First off, I have to say that I received one of the best massages I've ever had here. BUT If you're looking for a "5 star luxury spa experience" you should probably look elsewhere. Like others had mentioned, we were lucky enough to find some great deals on Groupon. I love that Honor your body let you choose which type of massage you wanted (Swedish, deep tissue, etc.) Also, for an extra $20 - you can have a couples massage. This was a fee to set the tables up together. THERE IS NO ELEVATOR! for those of you that may have difficulties walking. This was something I wasn't aware of until after booking our services. Located in the old PNC building, up two flights of stairs, follow the signs, (buddy the elf voice) to Honor your Body Wellness! The waiting area was filled with great smelling soaps, and lotions. The woman that greeted us handed us our intake forms - and then we met our therapists. I have to say that I was apprehensive at first, but Darius did an amazing job. He was gentle and soft when needed, but also worked out all of my knots and really paid great attention to what I had mentioned to him pre-massage. I received a good massage from Penelope. My wife however received possibly the worst massage she ever had from Sarah. Sarah did not address any of my wife's problem areas even after discussion with her, she played hip hop music during the massage which was certainly not relaxing, and she frequently massaged lightly with one hand instead of actually doing what my wife requested. On leaving we provided feedback to the person at the desk, he did not do anything to address the situation. He took our Groupons and said that we would have to contact Groupon to receive a refund. He made no offer of any kind to make things right for us, and we feel that this was poor customer service on top of the poor massage. Not the way we would handled this as we are business owners too. I will admit to being easily distracted by outside noise. There are a few issues with this location, and that is just one of them. The floors creak and groan when anyone walks, so the therapist walking around the table or someone walking down the hall can be distracting. You will have some issues if you have mobility issues. This place is on the 2nd floor, so you will have a long flight of steps to climb. Since I use a power chair, I was told to come to the back of the building. After negotiating numerous sidewalk cracks and cobble, you pass a large number of dumpsters to find the switchback ramp. There are no markings on the outside door and no buzzers or bells to alert anyone, so you have to call and wait for someone to come and open the door for you. It can be challenging. I had Carrie for my first session of 60 minutes. I have to admit that I wasn't very impressed before, during or after my massage. I gave a good star rating because of my second visit. I had Derrick this time and he seemed to listen much better. He was able to pinpoint my problem areas and get to the root of my issues. Even though this follow up was only 30 minutes, I felt more relief than the 60 minute massage. Frankly, it felt like the first one was just going through the motions, while the second was much more therapeutic. I would recommend Derrick if you're given the choice. read more

My 2 hour booking was for 1:15pm, I literally walked through the door at 1:15 and the previous appointment was still chatting at the front desk with reception. Woman at the front desk tells me to choose a scent and sit and "wait for a second" which turned into 15 minute wait. She and some other woman were just chatting it up and complaining about something out back. Finally, at 1:30, she comes to get me, the massage begins at exactly 1:35pm, I tell her what my issues are and over an hour into the massage it's like I had told her to AVOID that area. She never even asked me what intensity I preferred She ends the massage at 3:30pm. Then when it's over, I go to pay with the gift certificate my partner had gotten me for my birthday in mid-January, she tells me, "you have a balance of $10" like how the hell do I have ANY balance for something that was gifted to me?!?!?! So apparently they raised their prices as of March 1st but that is simply not MY problem. You honor the voucher that was gifted to someone just 1.5 months prior to you raising your prices. That price raise is not MY problem, nor should it be MY responsibility. Also, I made mention during the booking that I HAD a gift certificate for a 2 hour massage!!!!!!!!!! I walked in with barely enough cash to tip at the original value of $170 (which is now $180 for a lousy 2 hour massage that you should avoid at all costs anyway) then at reception she sounded surprised I wanted to pay with a card. My husband and I just had a wonderful experience doing the couples massage. We bought the Groupon for $90 and it was totally worth it! Money well spent, a total deal. Both massage therapists were professional, and the receptionist was very nice. I had derrick & my husband had Shannon. We loved it so much that we booked another for in a few weeks! I have been going to get a massage a few times a year at Honor Your Body Wellness for a few years now. They are in their third building and keep expanding which is great. It is easy to book online or call to book an appointment and I highly recommend Carrie or Derrick. They have times available during the evening and weekends which is great for those that work during the week. The prices have gone up and they do not offer many specials anymore but they have not raised their prices in years. One of the best things about a massage here compared to other places is that they use homemade scented locations. they have a variety of rotating scents, often seasonal, that smell so good. One of my favorites is the lemon grass. You can buy many of their products including lotions, lip balm, and soaps. read more

Came here for the first time for a couples massage I bought from Groupon- $99 for 1hr couples massage. What's hot - Price. Basically comes out to $50 per person for the hour massage. Reasonable price. - Parking. Decent size parking lot and can accommodate enough cars, which is nice. - They work the head. This may seem trivial to some, but it's important to be aware that your head has pressure points, as well. My masseuse put pressure on my temples, around my scalp, and jaw. It definitely helped ease the tension. - Respectful and comfortable. Always important, especially since you're mostly undressed. Their staff are very nice. What's not - Sticky afterwards. The lotion they used left me and hubby sticky after the massage. That's the first time that's happened to me before. He wiped my back off after the massage, but my legs and arms, and neck were sticky. Hubby and I took a shower afterwards and we were both sticky. They have different scents of lotion, which is awesome. It also helps that they have descriptions in their waiting area as to how the different scents help and what they can do. But we were sticky afterwards, which isn't comfortable. - Location. It's in a high traffic location, which isn't the easiest to get in and out of. This place is out of the way for me, but that's just me. - Not as communicative/doesn't check in during the massage. My masseuse and hubby's masseuse didn't ask us during the massage if the pressure was good. Whenever I've had Swedish massages and the masseuses focus on different parts of the body, they generally ask if the pressure is good. I really hate giving bad reviews, but this place was just not for me. I used a Groupon and was glad I didn't pay full price! First off you walk in and it smells wonderful, I was thinking ok this is going to be good. You could pick your lotion with different oils. Then I ended up waiting 15 minutes past my massage time. ( which I hate ) but she did make up for it. So that was good. I was scheduled to be in the butterfly room. Which is the first room right off the waiting room area. Not exactly the quietest. We go over a brief history of my massages. I told her all the areas that hurt really bad and I wanted her focus on . I specified on the phone that I wanted firm to deep tissue massage. And set it again while we were in the room. On the wall or different picture about massage therapy and how much to tip if you're satisfied with your massage. So I get on the table and it is rock hard. I had practically no padding and I could feel the wood through the table. I was thinking great 90 minutes I don't know if I'll be able to stand being on this thing for that long. Then starts the massage, first off I know massage therapist usually sit with doing the head and shoulders and the feet. However she sat the whole time except when doing my legs. I could tell the difference in the pressure. Other than my legs, if felt more like she was just rubbing me versus massaging me. Definitely not firm or deep tissue! The Boulder that she gave to put under your legs was practically worn thin. And I was completely covered in lotion. I mean dripping with it. I really had to scrub my whole body to get that lotion off at the end of the day -it was gross. I will not be returning to this place. Only good thing that they did have essential oil's that were there and they were fairly priced. I find out afterwords that my massage therapist was the owner. I love the variety of options they offer to pamper yourself within your time (or wallet) constraints. They offer some amazing add-ons as well. My sister gets cupping done here regularly now and loves it while I go for simple massages. From the moment you walk in the door you receive a customized experience. My husband purchased a Groupon for a 60 minute Swedish massage. I was so excited to go and probably haven't had a massage in a year or so. When I called to schedule an appointment, they didn't have anything within the month and I was willing to book with any available therapist. The location was convenient for me when it was on Rt. 51, which was part of the reason my husband bought the Groupon. However, they moved and the new location was a little rough and out of the way for me. Pros: -Price -Free Parking -Soap and Essential Oil Products available for sale, plus free soap samples. -Therapist was good with feet. -Worked the head and face/sinuses. -Choice of lotion scent for massage. Cons: -No signs, flyers, boards that advertise the business outside the building. -Road noise during massage. -Greasy and slimy after massage from too much lotion/oil. -The massage was more of a rub then an actual medium pressure massage. No tension relief. -Bathroom was dirty with hair on the sink along with a nonworking sink. -Hard to schedule a convenient appointment. -The environment was not soothing or calming and quite busy and loud if your massage is in the room with the front desk. read more

He listened to all of my requests and a day later I feel great! The building overall lost a star for me. I understand that they JUST moved, but the place is a barren wasteland currently. This could definitely improve over time, but part of the ambience of a massage and any other "spa" service is a warm, calm welcome. This was a brightly lit, two room welcome area with mismatched metal chairs and items for sale set up on "yard sale" tables. Like I said, this could be moving pains, but when you run a spa, maybe close for a few days so that this isn't the first thing people see when they walk in. My review has been bumped down to 4 stars for aesthetic reason. I've used Groupon before for massages and usually they're new and upcoming businesses so decor isn't a huge deal to me. After reading reviews it seems this place has been open for about 2 years. That being the said, after 2 years I feel the place should look more professional and welcoming. On to the massage itself. At check in you get to choose a lotion scent (or lack thereof if you choose). I'm pretty sure my therapist name was Eden. She was absolutely wonderful! I asked for light to med pressure for my Swedish and she did just that! (I'm not one for hard massages that leave me feeling sick later that night. Just my pref). She was sweet, accommodating and very confident in her skills. She lit the room just right (I like it darker) and had no problem drifting away here and there while she worked on me. I visited over the holidays with a Groupon. I have a monthly membership with a chain, but I had heard good things about this place, and the Groupon for a hot stone massage was too good to pass up. I felt like I had one of the best massages I've had in the city here. It's a really relaxing, personal feeling environment as opposed to a chain. I wish I could remember the name of my therapist to give her credit, because I thought she did a great job, listening to my needs and picking up on my cues that I just like to relax during a massage and not chat excessively. The hot stones were very relaxing and added to the experience. They offer memberships here as well, but they are a little different. Instead of charging you for a full massage monthly, you pay a one-time fee of $25 and then get 30% off of each massage for a year. There is also a deluxe version where you pay $6 a month and get 40% off each massage, and you can freeze that one for up to three months. It seems like a nice system opposed to the other way, where you're not getting nearly as much of a discount and can see your services get backlogged if you can't make it for a while. I definitely plan to come here again. Pro tip: they sent a note indicating that you could park in the PNC Bank garage next door, but I missed the part where you needed to jot down which car was yours once you entered the building. I didn't have a problem, but I'll know to look for that sign-in sheet next time before heading up the stairs to Honor Your Body Wellness. read more
