While driving down 12th Street, the lush green plants in the window caught my attention. The next day I had to come back and check it out. The owner and those working there are so friendly in that small town way that doesn't exist in many places. Well it's on full display here! When I explained that I was trying to replace two orange bromeliads, they offered to order some for me. Bromeliads or any plant I need that is not in the store. When I mentioned that my large aloe is covered in white, scale fungus or mites, they informed me that it is lacking light . I've Googled this a dozen times and that never came up! Shopping here is as much about getting educated on how to care for your plants to as it is about finding a specific plant. The goal is for the plant to thrive long term. While perusing the shop, I noticed some planters filled with three or four indoor houseplants that would be a stunning gift or an arrangement for your own home. Especially the ones that had a pop of color from the African Violets. I may have to go back for one! All the plants were healthy and thriving. There were anthurium with waxy, shiny, red heart shaped leaves; snake plants that are so easy to maintain; lots of pathos that are super easy to grow; an assortment of orchids in multiple colors; and a plethora of succulents and air plants. The shop is small but everything is styled so nicely that they fit in a lot of inventory while still keeping it spacious so customers can easily make their way around. Loved everything about this shop! So happy to find a plant and floral shop in the heights of Hood River.

Trellis Fresh Flowers And Gifts - bug-eaten eucalyptus leaf in a $255 bridal bouquet. I would have gotten better service and quality from Whole Foods florist.

Working with Trellis Flowers was the most stressful and regrettable part of my entire wedding…read moreexperience. Through multiple discussions (over phone and email) with the owner Blaire, I specified just a few non-negotiables: I dislike eucalyptus or any wide, flat, round-leaf greenery, and dahlias are my least favorite flowers. She confirmed that she understood my directions. On wedding day, my bridal bouquet was full of both eucalyptus and dahlias--it literally made me nauseous seeing something so against my wishes. Not only that, there was even a huge bug-eaten eucalyptus leaf right in the middle of my bouquet. The venue coordinator cut it out for me as I was too disgusted to do anything about it. Later, my photographer (unprompted by me) asked if she could rip out the remaining eucalyptus leaves as they're unattractive and cheap fillers. I also ordered recessional petal-toss petals for $75 and received a handful of browning rose petals. My parents noted that raking their garden would produce better and more abundant results. Later, the venue returned to me their required $50 petal-toss cleanup fee because there were so few petals to pick off the ground. I explained all these and asked Blaire to refund $255 for the bridal bouquet and $75 for the petal-toss petals. She insisted that there was nothing wrong with her service and refused to give me a refund. I have no patience for creatives who have so little integrity and pride in their work--and who take advantage of brides paying thousands of dollars. The message I got from Blaire from initial consult to her last email was "you need me more than I need you." Only choose Trellis Flowers if you want to be treated poorly and pay thousands for flowers you specifically asked not to get.

From…read morebeginning to end, Paul was thoughtful, kind, and genuinely invested in bringing our vision to life. He really listened and helped me refine the colors and flowers to complement our PNW October wedding while weaving in details inspired by our home in San Francisco. The colors were vibrant and beautiful. I had asked for a fall palette but didn't want it to feel like Thanksgiving, and he absolutely nailed it. He found shades and blooms that complemented the overall theme without leaning too traditional. The dahlias were especially gorgeous. The day before the wedding, I brought 20 guests, ages 10 to 75, to the flower farm to assemble arrangements together. I was blown away by the quality of the flowers and the care Paul took to make sure everyone felt comfortable and confident. Every person who joined raved about the experience. It felt less like work and more like a meaningful and fun part of the wedding weekend. Guests loved telling others at the wedding which pieces they had helped create. The space was spacious and welcoming, and the entire experience felt special and seamless. I can't recommend Apple Core Farm enough. Anyone would be lucky to work with Paul.

From beginning to end, he was a calming presence, guiding us gently through the bouquets making process. It allowed friends and family the chance to share in a fun, creative activity and get to know each other before the big day! Working with Paul allowed us the opportunity to play with flowers, color and textures using a wide variety of plants. I learned a lot about plants as we toured his gardens and greenhouse and I have a greater appreciation for all that goes into making beautiful bouquets. We made great memories that will last a lifetime! Paul is a warm and generous person and I can't recommend him enough!
