The girl's hockey team is not top priority for coach Sugar her wedding planning takes priority over the team's wellbeing. This past season the head team captain that was chosen by coach Sugar was not a team to say the least, she would not pass the puck, to others if they had more goals than her during a specific game, she told the team that she was too good to be playing with them. Sugar never reprimanded her and actually promoted this behavior. The hockey team is a mess because they have no consequences. The admiration does not email you back. Do not send your child to this school.

I never received recognition for my efforts. Speaking about growing up Deaf took courage, especially with cruel kids. Father Clemens' beard made lip-reading impossible, I asked if he could trim around the lips and he refused. I couldn't get tutoring from him. I failed his Ethics course as a result, but Principal Lomuscio allowed me to graduate because he knew the "priest" was a jerk. All seniors are expected to pass all courses to graduate. I advocated for closed captions on movie nights. My peers wanted it off instead. Post-graduation, donation requests go straight to my garbage. The school overlooks achievements, lacks a psychologist, and I attempted suicide twice. I was not the only one who attempted during my time there. I'm grateful to have survived; Hoosac is not recommended!

Darrow taught me to think analytically, communicate effectively and collaborate as often as possible. There is a "safeness" that exists at Darrow that allows a student to try anything. If a student fails, he will be caught. To me there is more pride in failure than never having tried. I failed many times while at Darrow. Was I negatively judged? No. Did I try something else? I did. As a consequence, I am still trying new things. Some I'm good at. Others, not so much. But thanks to Darrow I keep on trying.
