Placed an order for takeout when I received the food after I was half way done with my meal I noticed long black hairs in my tater tots. I was told by the manager to come in for a refund after arriving with the food that had a hair the manager then says they cannot refund me because I ate half of the food. It's super close to my office, so every once in a while I stop during lunch or to meet a buddy after work. They've got a decent special on Wednesdays, boneless wings & curly fries or tater tots for $7. Last visit, I sat at the bar and watched the grill guy work his magic (ogling the waitresses is no longer an option; I'm almost a married man and gotta be on my best behavior. I was also facing the wall LOL). At one point, an order comes in for a burger and he does his thing. Patty on the grill, sizzles, all's good so far. One flip, no problems. Then in a twist that was equal parts bad luck and butterfingers, the finished burger slips out of the tongs and lands **between** the grills. He hurriedly looked around, grabbed it, and slid the burger onto a plate. My boy out here thinking "oh crap, I hope no one saw that!" But I did, man. I saw the whole thing. There's a line from the movie Waiting that goes "a little floor spice makes everything nice". See, thing is that's a comedy of how NOT to act in a kitchen, whether it's playing the penis-showing game or serving food that's fallen on anything except a plate. * TL;DR * Wahlburgers is a thing (google it). Floorburgers......should not be. I'm not out to narc on anyone, and I definitely don't want my dude to get fired. Sh*t happens in a kitchen, but when it does, y'all gotta throw that out and start over. You CAN'T serve dropped food to a customer. You just can't. After a long day of work, my sister and I were craving Hooters' wings for dinner. Normally, we would order from the Countryside location, however, realizing that today was Tuesday and the Countryside location is unfortuantely closed Tuesdays, we settled for the Melrose Park location. I personally have had previous bad experiences at the Melrose Park location when using carryout (short on wings, small serving of tots, forgotten drinks, etc.), however, the cravings were real and I had hoped things would be better. Unfortunately, this may have been the worst experience I had there overall. I placed an order around 7:15PM for a pick up to be ready by 8:15PM through their online ordering. It was a fairly simple order of two kids meals with two drinks and a side of cheese - mind you when I say fairly simple, the orders were the exact same (preparation and sauce) except of the drinks. I sent my husband to go pick up the order a little past 8:15PM, only for him to send me a text saying that they only made one of the orders thus requiring to wait even longer for simple meals that we ordered ahead of time. As you can see by their printed time stamped receipts, one meal was made at 7:55PM to be ready for the 8:15PM pickup and the other meal was made at 8:25PM. My husband ended up waiting an additional 20 minutes and once he had arrived home with the food, it was almost 9PM. The most upsetting part was that once we received the food, we realized the preparation for both meals was incorrect in the worst way - we asked for their regular, breaded chicken wings per their online option and somehow ended up with the smallest pieces of boneless wings which we are not even a fan of and is not even an option in their online ordering. Let alone, one meal was already cold due to the fact that my husband had to wait for another meal to be made. How we ended up with two kids meal of boneless wings with one meal being cold beats me. Had it not been for the decent amount of tots, this would have most definitely been a one star review. We have learned our lesson with the Melrose Park Hooters location, do yourselves a favor and stay away when ordering carryout. We will stick with the dependable Countryside location. read more

I'm not sure if this is how Hooters conducts it's business or if this is one of the most poorly ran establishments I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Me and wife came here to eat one afternoon because my sister gave us a $50 gift card. This card did not expire nor did it even display an expiration date. Our food came to about $53. It was nothing special. Normal wings and some curly fries. Greasy and not impressive but essentially they were free so I didn't complain. When it came time to pay, the waitress brought us the bill and I told her I had the gift card. She took the card and came back shortly saying that the card didn't work. I called and confirmed that they was money on the card. I requested someone else that could help and a black guy, late 30s, came out and told me that sometimes the gift cards don't work. I just said, ok and waited for him to provide a solution. He knew there was money available, he knew it hadn't expired, but he was not willing to do anything to help. I asked him what should we do and he suggested we just pay. I told him that paying isn't a problem but in that case I would like a replacement card that actually works OR since he knows that the machine is not working and that is the store's problem then he can find a better solution. We spent about 10 minutes kinda just standing there and no one willing to budge. I had my wife there and I don't like to make a scene so I just paid and we left. No apologies, no customer service number, no help whatsoever. It was an embarrassing experience and I doubt management cared. They didn't want people using gift cards and they got what they wanted. Side note: I'm not ignorant to the fact that people who tend to "flip tables" get the most help and usually a solution is found for that person. It seems like when you try to speak like a human being and come to am agreement you are met with more resistance. I was not willing to let that happen so I ending up paying. read more

My first hooters experience... Went here for a late night bite when not much else was open-especially sit down restaurants. Plus I had been wanting to see what the hype was all about for years and just never got around to it. Honestly, the atmosphere was subpar but it was pretty dead in there. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the food. My one complaint would be that my burger was very overdone-but it still had good flavor to it. Always one of my go-to chicken wing spots for many years now. Love their traditional, bone-in wings. I love that you can get it in many flavors and seasoned from mild, hot, super-hot, or even "wet". I've never strayed from the "hot wing" sauce though. Why fix something that ain't broke? You think fried pickles are nasty? Don't knock it til you try it. I highly recommend them! If you're a fan of pickles, go for it! The service is always good if you don't mind looking at boobs and booty with your wings. I have been coming to this Hooters since they opened. A lot has changed, especially through the pandemic. We had reservations and they still took 10 minutes to take our order. The place was really dirty. Maybe they are short staff. You can see how dirty the kitchen floor was. I was trying to wash my hands, only one sink works in Mens washroom. That was really dirty too. They really stopped taking care of this place. The wings were really small too, don't know what happened, they may have changed their wing provider. I started going to the Hooters in countryside. This was my first time at a Hooters. It was memorable not only for that reason but because it was following a visit to the cat shelter I foster for and my husband needed an oil change on his car, so we had the litter WITH us at Hooters. I got a lot of attention from the waitresses because I had the kittens with me. Hooters was a lot better than I originally thought. That includes the atmosphere, service and food. We were seated immediately upon arrival and a waitress came over to take our drink orders (and to coo over the kittens). We got an appetizer, the pretzel sticks. There were three; they were good sized, crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. As for entrees, my husband ordered the Boneless Wings and I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap. Husband said the wings were tasty and I was very pleased with my wrap. We would order both again. After we finished our meal Tony went back to Pep Boys to see about his car; he ended up getting the battery changed so I was left in Hooters for a lot longer than I thought, but our waitress came back to our table to tell me that I was welcome to stay there as long as I needed to and if I needed anything else she would give it to me on the house. I didn't order anything, but it was so kind of her to tell me that! In summary, I definitely recommend this Hooters, whatever your party is like!
